Let me preface by saying I KNOW we aren't supposed to step on a scale after Lipo (and yes I know Lipo isn't a weight loss tool) but I'm not the first or last that decided to step on a scale the next day and now I'm baffled.... so thought maybe someone could chime in! I had lipo on flanks and inner/outer thighs and we removed seven pounds of fat. I was surprised to see that I weighed ELEVEN POUNDS MORE the next day! I know we retain fluid and there's tons of swelling but WTH!
I am going in for liposuction on flanks & thighs for fatgrafting to breasts next month. The hospital said I will start wearing the compression garment the day after surgery. The reason being: Tumescent fluid has to leak out after surgery, so it should be applied the day after. I am a little confused and wondering how others doctors recommend their patients to wear their compression garments post op from liposuction. Is it normal to start wearing it more than 24h after surgery?
I had liposuction on my inner thigh 7 months ago and developed a seroma which was hard as a gulf ball. My surgeon drained it multiple times and injected it one time with steroids but it stills keep filling and its been almost a month that the sac was removed. The incision is pretty much healed but it stills keep filling up and has about 20mls or more of serous fluid. Is this normal to have the sac removed but the area to still filling up with fluid?
Hello, How do you know when your swelling is gone or getting better? Not in days or months... But Physically how can you tell that the area is full of fluid not fat? I have EXACTLY the same love handles/saddle bags before and after lipo. Can that really be possible after 2 1/2 weeks? I thought I would be able to see SOME change any change at all. I am 5'5 108#
I had liposuction in South Korea 10 months ago, and the day after the procedure I returned to the surgeon to have my surgery area (abdomen, flanks and back) squeezed. They didnt give me drains after the surgery and instead pushed/massaged the fluid out of the wounds the next day. since then I had a strange shape to my abdomen where they had pushed the fluid down and it didnt all get squeezed out. I was so hoping for a flat stomach, I am so disheartened.
I am going to have abdominal liposuction and was wondering what the best way is to get excess fluid out of the body after the procedure? Is it just drink a ton of water and wear the compression garmet? I am worried about swelling in my face and other body parts when I don't want anyone to know what I have been doing. :)
I had lipo done on Jan 18 by a great surgeon in Mexico, but I live in Michigan and cant get lost op care :( . I did lymphatic & ultrasound massages or 3wks.I had a pretty big fluid pocket on my lower back and it went away, But now I am left with dimpling. I also have a bulge on my stomach where I was told it could be my faja line or left over fat. On my waist I have more of a curve on one side and the other side seems very hard and almost unable to have that curve.
I am 9 weeks PO. I had the areas drained for about 1 week and a half at a plastic surgeon here in my state. I compressed as I should have. But now the areas appear to look like muscle or some sort of tissue. I have no redness or swelling. No pain to touch. Just irritated because I know it should not appear like this. My surgery was performed in Miami and I am unable to get in touch with anyone from the doctors office.
Iam 2 months post op from lipo and I immediately gotten a seroma in my lower back. A drain was put in for about 1 month and and 2 weeks and they recently removed it because it was supposedly closed. Before they removed it they injected it with doxicycline to seal the wall. Now I have fluid again he stated I didnt need another drain that my body will absorb the fluid. Its huge and my back hurts what should I do. Can it mess with my spine. And would I stay with a huge hard bump on my back
