I'm 7 days post FUE surgery and my donor area is quite dry and flakey. I wonder if the donor area is infected? However I was instructed by the surgeon to not use an oil on the donor or recipient area until 2 months after surgery. I just want to understand the reasoning behind that suggestion. Seems like a lot of people are using things like vitamin e oil, castor oil, Neosporin, argan oil and etc. I would like to apply some of those, but I want to follow the surgeons instructions.
Hello, I have been transplanted since 3 weeks and in order to favor regrowth and enjoy the other benefits on the scalp I would like to put some peppermint oil on my whole head and so in the transplanted hair (3-8 drops of peppermint oil mixed with a tbsp of coconut or jojoba or olive oil 6x per weeks) as replacement of minoxidil as i don't want to make my hair addicted and dependant on minox. Is it okay after 3 weeks of transplant? Will the hair be strong enough?
I am currently 20 days post op from an FUE transplant for my frontal hairline. I have been using emu oil on my donor area from the start and have great results. My recipient are is healing well but I just want to give it a little extra with emu oil or coconut oil. My question is, when can I put oil on the recipient are? Is it safe? Will it harm grafts? Is there even a point in putting oil in the recipient are right now? My scabs are also gone, i just have a little bit of pink in some areas
I put baby oil on my recipient area for 30 minutes 10 days post FUE of 3900 grafts to help loosen up the crusts. I then gently ran my finger over the area- and what came off were white/yellowish balls, many with hairs in them. Could the baby oil have made me loose grafts?
I had an FUE two week ago (1600 grafts). 48 hrs afterwards, I started using pure Vitamin E oil on the Donor area as a moisturizer and to help loosen scabs and used it up till post op Day 9. However, after considering Vit E can easily be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream (especially broken skin), I have become concerned. Vitamin E oil is a known inhibitor of Veg-F, which is responsible for angiogenesis after transplant. Is it possible that I stunted vascularization of my grafts?
I was given Bepanthol lotion after hair transplant and told to leave it for 30 min then wash it off. I was wondering, if I could leave it for a whole day to style my hair as I dont want to use any gel because of bad experiences in the past. I must mention I have quiet oily scalp. Many thanks
