I am a 30 year old male with olive skin. I was in a car accident 4 weeks ago and have been left with a deep one inch scar that required 3 inner stiches and 6 outer. Its in a very prominent place on my forehead (right above the eyebrows) and its not looking great as its healing.I was wondering if I should pursue Fraxel repair (or Fraxel restore) now, or whether I should wait until its healed. This is very important to me, please help. Thanks.
I'm considering getting Fraxel on my face. At one clinic I was told that I should get a TCA peel 30% at least 20 peels each a week apart before doing Fraxel or I will not fully benefit from the treatment. Should I get it on my neck as well? I was informed that since I'm olive-skinned, I may end up getting dark. I'm confused and need some clarification. All I need is eliminating fine wrinkles, spider veins, some discoloration and getting a dewy, glowy complexion. Thank you for your time.
I have an olive complexion and would like to treat my acne scars and broken capillaries. The texture of my skin is also an issue. I've gone to two dermatologist, one says Fraxel is better and the other says Fraxel shouldn't be done on patients with pigment in their skin and recommends IPL. I have been on Minocycline and Tazorac for over a year and my acne is under control. I'm ready to treat the scarring, but would like to make sure I'm choosing the correct treatment for my skin.
I had erbium glass fractionated laser done 6 days ago. At the moment my face feels like sandpaper and is very obviously red/brown where the laser contacted my skin. How long till my face feels smooth and redness goes away? I work outside. I avoided the sun for the first 4 days but I had to return to work. I have a spf 50 broad sunscreen that I'm wearing (I waited the 5 days advised by my derm) makeup and a baseball cap. Will this be enough protection? I am worried considering I have olive skin.
Hi. I am 45 years old with some sun damage/brown spots and some light wrinkles with lighter olive skin tone. Which do you recommend for skin rejuvenation and the brown spots and minimizing pores and wrinkles? The Picosure Focus or the Fraxel Dual?
I have light colored but olivey skin and was putting hydroquinone in my skin for about a month. My first treatment begins tomorrow by I lost the ointment I was using and have been off of it for about a week. Should I cancel the appointment? And will the lasers really affect my skin badly if I haven't been using
I have tan, light olive skin. The laser lady said she would be doing Fraxel Laser for my sun damage and medium acne scarring. Apparently, Fraxel Restore is the correct laser for my type of skin: light olive with a tan. However, the brochure she gave me said Elos. Is this the same thing as Fraxel Restore?
I'm olive skin male with mild acne scarring. I consulted with few derms and have been told that 3-4 sessions of fraxel will help improve the scaring/skin texture. Research on this site and reddit shows a vocal minority complaining about fraxel leaving their skin worse and in some cases giving them aged look/facial fat loss. On the other hand, doctors here say that fraxel doesn't go deep enough to affect fat underneath to cause aging etc. What's the reason for skin damage then? high settings?
I am 65 and have Syringoma under my eyes and cheeks. I am nervous getting a more powerful laser. Also I have seen patients develop deep wrinkles on the outer corner of eyes. How do you avoid that? Thanks!
