I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Grenley and his staff when I got a breast lift and subsequent revision. My breasts look just how I want them and the surgery itself was fairly painless. Dr. Grenley is straightforward and clear about reasonable expectations. I completely LOVE his front desk staff and nurses. Everything turned out beautifully. Highly recommended!
I am so happy that I finally went through with this surgery! I still can't get over how different my boobs look now. Basically from the time that my breasts developed they were kind of conical and saggy (yay for unfortunate genes!) I've been self-conscious of them for a really long time. I am 4 days post-op currently and feeling pretty good. The most painful part was actually the lipo around my arm pits, although it was only moderately painful the first day or so. At this point I am not feeling too much pain although my incisions are getting pretty itchy. I've been icing them on and off for a bit of relief. Sleeping on my back hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be - normally I sleep on my stomach and I thought I would have the hardest time getting comfortable. I found that having plenty of pillows really helps (three beneath my head to elevate my upper body, one on each side so I don't roll over, and one under my knees for support). I can't wait to try on some new bras and clothes once I am more healed up! I am really happy with the results so far though :D
Dr. Grenley and his entire team were nothing but wonderful. From the first email I sent to his patient coordinator, through the consultations, surgery day, follow-up appointments and follow-up emails and questions, everything was spot-on, professional, caring, and fantastic. Dr. Grenley and his practice by far stands out from any other practice I have consulted with. You can tell from the moment you meet him that he is very seasoned as he walks you through the process and answers all questions before you even need to ask. He is very caring and concerned for his patient's safety and results. I am SO grateful I found him (through a friend). Dr. Grenley and his team has made this process so comfortable for me and gave me 100% confidence and trust in them. Thank you!
My results 1.5 yrs post op. I couldn't be happier with my results. I was able to resume exercise after 9 weeks. I currently workout 6 days/week. My weight is the same in both pictures. I highly recommend the procedure and my surgeon. Worth every penny. My scar and belly button are perfect. Dr. Grenely is a true artist! Updated on 8 Sep 2017: Updated on 21 Oct 2017: Updated on 21 Oct 2017: Updated on 16 Jun 2018: Updated on 4 Feb 2019: My results at 3 years. Time has flown by and I forget how my stomach used to look and how I felt. I just recently turned 50 and have never looked better. I have never regretted my decision and now wear a bikini with confidence.
Every member of his team is amazing. I had a very good feeling after scheduling my breast aug. consultation because they were so helpful on the phone and after meeting Dr. Grenley I was sure I was in the right hands. I was a 32 A cup and now I am 32 DD, I have 440CC sub muscular textured silicone implants and I could not have hoped for more beautiful results. My surgery was in April, it has been almost 5 months and I cant believe how good they feel and look! I have never felt so confident, this was the best decision I ever made. Making this decision was easy with his guidance and experience i felt so at ease, also every person there is an ANGEL. They were so sweet and reassuring and make everything so smooth and easy. Friends, family, and strangers are complimenting my new boobs all the time and I recommend Dr. Grenley to everyone who does!
I came to Dr. Grenley after finding him here on Realself and viewing all of his credentials. I came to Dr. Grenley with a difficult situation in my breasts. My breast ( two breast implant surgeries prior to Dr. G ) where very uneven, I had no cleavage, horrible scars, the list really goes on and on. After coming to see him about three times to discuss my options and to allow time for him to consult colleagues about my situation, we scheduled the surgery. Now I have even breasts!!! I can go braless and have security back. I wish I had done this surgery sooner. It has been a very long recovery because of my particular situation, but I would do it again if I had to because of Dr. Grenley and his staff. Dr. Grenley has a wonderfully calm environment in his office and great staff. Stephanie his Nurse is wonderful!!!!! Dr. Grenley is realistic and honest. He truly wants you to look your best! I have sent over friends for consultations and they all love him. One friend so far has had her procedures done, and we giggle to each other all the funny conversations we have had with Dr. Grenley. Soon Dr. Grenley will be putting up my before and after photos on his website. Its unbelievable the change! I am so happy!!
Since puberty I always thought my breasts looked different than other girls my age. Even in my adult like I was very ashamed to change in public or show my breasts to boyfriends. In the back of my mind I always thought that I needed a breast aug. It wasn't until I really started doing serious research on BA and I learned that there were other women like me. Tubular breasts were something I had never heard of. Strangely I was relieved to know I wasn't a lone. After realizing what I had to deal with my research got even more intense. I started looking on YouTube which lead me here to RealSelf. Having found a couple doctors with good reviews on Realself and word of mouth I made a consultation with two doctors in the same day. I had my heart set on the first doctor I saw, I loved his outcomes and he had really good reviews. His office staff was nice but it felt very impersonal, kinda like a boob factory. Sat down and spoke to him before changing and then spending time with he MA trying on sizers. She took some pictures for me for reference when I got home. However once the doctor came back in he informed me that I would need 2 surgeries. Augmentation first then at least 6 weeks later an anchor life. Its not that I didn't trust his opinion but I couldn't afford over $17000 of two surgeries, plus the time off I would need. Leaving his office I felt completely defeated. My dreams felt crushed and I had lost hope of finally having beautiful breasts. My next appointment was with Dr. Grenley. I expected him to likely tell me the same. However this appointment went much better. Dr. Grenley spent 1.25 hours in the consult room talking to me and drew lots of pictures along with his explanation. Dr. Grenleys recommendation was augmentation with periareolar lift. I felt more comfortable with this since its just one surgery and done! The entire staff was extremely curtious. The front desk staff were always happy to help when I had a question. During my pre-op appointment I met Dr. Grenleys nurse Stephanie. She is very sweet and empathetic. She helped me try on my sizers. I had picked 350-400max Stephanie called me the night before my surgery to check on me and she helped calm my nerves on the day of my surgery. After arriving they even put a gold star on my door with my name on it. And after changing into a rob and gown they had a nice paper bag for my clothes instead of the standard plastic hospital bags. They also had a big comfy rob incase I was still cold. While in the holding room I met my anesthesiologist who was so exceptionally nice and personable. Even in the OR he was gentle starting my IV an talking me through all the meds he was giving me and what to expect. Also in the holding room Dr. Grenley spent a significant amount of time drawing on me. This showed how much attention to detail he has for his patients. Post op I was sent home in an ace wrap which was pretty tight but gave good support when I was up and around. I was told that Dr. Grenley had placed 415 high profile. I was kinda shocked and even 400 sizers looked kinda big. However he explained that I needed it to fill out the volume in the lower pole since I didn't have any lower pole fullness before. Took me a good 12 hours to not be so woozy from the anesthesia meds but it was nice to just go home and sleep. Just snacked on crackers, apple sauce and ginger ale all day. The only time I got nauseated was the first time I got up to use the restroom. My boyfriend just grabbed me a zofran and it passed quickly. Today was my first post op appointment. Dr. Grenley and Stephanie were there and removed the ace and placed in my surgical bra. I bought my own through amazon since the ones you can buy from the office are doubt 67$. I did buy a couple different sizes. I started out in 36B(barely filled a B cup) and I ended up being put into a 34C post op bra. My second day post op has been a lot better, I have more energy but I continue to stay on top of my pain meds. I've also found that staying in one position for too long causes more muscle spasms. I'm looking forward to Saturday when I can take this bra off and take a shower! I didn't get to see my breasts today so I'm looking forward to it on Saturday! Updated on 29 Sep 2016: So far every day has gotten a little easier. When my boyfriend and I got home from the surgery center I ended up having total care. Couldn't get my pants down or up to go to the restroom and had trouble getting up and down off the couch. Luckily my boyfriend is really strong and works in a hospital so he was use to helping people getting around. Yesterday was a little better. Got up early and went to my post op appointment. It felt good to get to walk around some and to get the ace wraps off. Although he put me right into a post op bra I didn't get to see my breasts. I'm kinda nervous to see them! Saturday I can take the bra off and remove the gauze so I can shower. I suppose I will get to see my breasts then. We even went to the grocery store yesterday and I think just being outside for a little bit gave me some more energy. I've been sleeping with 4 pillows stacked behind me and the a pillow under each of my arms which helps the muscle spams in my chest. Today I woke up feeling so much better. I was able to get up off the couch without any help, got my own food and meds. Im hoping this improvement stays the way it is or even gets better cause after tomorrow I will be home a lone during the days. My breast don't hurt near as bad as they did even yesterday which I was very thankful for. I do have a bandeau strap on across my upper chest and it causes a little pressure on the outsides of each breast. I definitely was expecting recovery to be a lot worse but so far very tolerable. Updated on 6 Oct 2016: Sorry this is a little late, I'm currently about 1.5 weeks out from surgery, I had trouble getting images loaded. Life was sort of strange after my boyfriend went back to work on day 3. You never realize how much simple limitations can be so difficult. Not much appetite the first week, lived mostly off applesauce and crackers. However I am so happy with the results so far. I know they haven't settled like they will eventually but just having the fullness I never had before has been pleasing. My doctor gave me different options of post op bras or I could purchase one from the office. I found it cheaper to buy them off amazon. My favorite by far has been the Amoena brand. I believe the one he sells in office is the Lunaire brand. However, the Lunaire brand is very uncomfortable and the Amoena is made of much smoother material is the one I've been wearing the majority of the time. I was also instructed to wear a bandeau 24/7. I wasn't prepared to wear this so its been a little difficult hiding it with my current wardrobe. Luckily its turning cooler so I can wear sweaters, scarves and jackets a little easier than if it was still summer. Current I'm about 1.5 weeks out and I've noticed more energy and needing meds a lot less. The muscle relaxer is my go to and then tylenol for pain. During this second week I've needed the narcotic pain meds a whole lot less and I've found icing to help when I do get some muscle spasms. Feeling in my areoles are starting to return, sometimes it feels like there are ice cubs on my nipples and other times its almost like a shooting pain but nothing unbearable. Feeling in my right nipple is stronger than left so I'm hoping they both return to normal as that was a pre-op concern I had. Next week is my two week follow up so I'm very ready to see my breasts without all the tape. One thing that I found really horrible in the first couple days that I forgot to mention in earlier posts was the hiccups! I very rarely get hiccups and for some reason I had multiple episodes in the first couple days. I'm not sure if it was being intubated during the surgery or some meds but they were literally horrible when it did happen. I hope it doesn't happen to any of you post op! Updated on 23 Oct 2016: Sorry my updates haven't been as frequent as I would have liked. Just been busy getting back to work and what not. My pics will be my 3 week post op pics. My incisions are still taped, my surgeon replaced the tape at my 2 week appointment and I'm too leave the tape on until it falls off. When the tape falls off I have to start taping with silicone gel tape for about 6 months. Currently I'm still taking an antibiotic and after 2 weeks I started taking 800 of Vitamin E. I'm no longer on pain meds, some days after work I will take some ibuprofen if I'm feeling kinda tight. Having to sleep on only my back has been difficult. I'm normally a side sleeper and sleeping only on my back makes my back hurt when I wake up. My surgeon has also had me keep wearing the elastic band that pushes my implants down into the pocket. I have to wear it 24/7 for 6 weeks total. Its a little difficult cause I have to work hard to conceal it. Luckily its fall so I can just throw a scarf on but at work I can't do that. At my follow up appointment my doctor said they had to work really hard to resolved my constricted breasts. I went into surgery at 9 and didn't get out until around 2 so I guess it was worse then I thought. I love my results so far, its nice having fullness in the lower pole. However, I kinda wish I would have gone a little bigger on my implant size to get some more fullness in the upper pole. Maybe once I get the post-op weight off they will look better. Initially I had planned on going back to work after 2 weeks but I had to take 3 weeks off. I was still in a lot of pain and my job is physically demanding. My first day back I had a lot of muscle spams and I was just really uncomfortable.
Hello! I've been looking on RS for quite awhile and am pleased to join in and share that my BA surgery is in 4 days! Honestly, I don't know if I would have done this if not for RS. It's incredibly helpful and reassuring to be able to see another person's (with my same build, implant size preference, and even age) results. It adds such a level of reassurance and personal connection, which I am so grateful for, so ladies, thank you for sharing your stories!!! I visited three doctors, all of whom gave me an abundance of information, much of which I didn't delve into in my own research (esp. regarding capsular contracture). I ended up going with the last Doctor I saw, who was actually recommended to me by my father (he asked a friend who "knows about these things"). I'm sure that I would have gotten a good result from any of the docs that I visited (they were all highly rated) but there were some price disparities and different recommendations, so I feel secure in my choice. I tried on some great sizers at my docs office (see pics), and it looks like my implants will be within the range of 250-350ccs depending on what my body accommodates. We discussed my preference of a very natural look with minimal upper pole fullness. I booked my surgery a little over a week in advance of the date, so there was so much to organize- but how fun?! My mom is graciously flying up from California to be my caregiver, which is perfect. She insisted that I bring my puppy (4.5 month old Frenchie/Boston) along, and we will be staying in a dog-friendly hotel nearby to my Doc's office for 2 nights. Not sure if this is a terrible idea, but Mom's a busy-body and assured me that she will make sure our pup doesn't bother me. I'd love to hear if anyone has recommendations for a comfy surgical bra or really any advice at all. My doc and his staff have given me a huge amount of info but it's so great to hear anecdotal advice so, if you feel inclined- please send it my way! Updated on 23 Sep 2016: Was finished with my BA yesterday at noon and came out of anesthesia very well. No nausea at the facility, and we headed back to our hotel shortly after. About an hour after we got back I started to feel super nauseous, and that was my condition for the rest of the day and night. I got sick twice and could barely eat, but managed to hold down the antibiotic, Valium and Oxy. I think I only ate 4 saltines and some water all day. On the upside, my pain was totally bearable. I felt sore, but really not bad at all. One interesting thing- I got the hiccups on five separate occasions. Which kind of sucked with the soreness and all, but was also kind of hilarious. Last night I was even woken up by my hiccups! Has anyone else ever experienced this? Just ate eggs for breakfast and about to head into my post op. The ace bandage is coming off, into the surgical bra and I'm traveling home (1.5 hrs north). Let's hope I can hold onto my breakfast! Updated on 23 Sep 2016: Night before last- saying goodbye to my natural boobs! Updated on 23 Sep 2016: Just had my surgery yesterday, but thus far, I have only wonderful things to say about Dr. Grenley and his staff. Everyone has been so kind, warm, welcoming, thorough, knowledgeable, immediately responsive, accommodating, receptive to my requests and preferences, and really just everything you could possibly hope for in a cosmetic surgery office and team. Dr. Grenley's nurse is absolutely the sweetest, warmest and has an excellent sense of humor. I felt so relaxed and comfortable going into surgery. Dr. Grenley is known as the best in Seattle, and it's no wonder. Can't wait to see my results.

From my home in Idaho I sought out 'the best plastic surgeon' ... and Dr. Grenley in Seattle, WA was overwhelmingly recommended. My experience with his staff, from the onset and throughout, was so overwhelmingly professional, sincere, and caring - I (seriously) found myself optimistic that the end-result of my surgery would be half as good as how I was treated on the front side. I am now typing this deserved review six weeks post-surgery: every single aspect of my Grenley-journey was, without question, the very best medical experience I have had. And, I've had a few. *My results are FABULOUS and in no way could I be happier or more impressed.
A mini tummy tuck only tightens the skin of the lower tummy below the belly button. It will not tighten your loose skin above the belly button, nor improve the appearance of the belly button itself. You would not achieve a very good result from a mini (lower) tummy tuck, and would be much better off with a full.
Since the bacteria present on your skin can cause capsular contracture (even after surgical skin prepping for surgery), many of us take multiple precautions to protect the implant from exposure to the skin and to the nipple, which can also shed that bacteria. These include a no touch technique (never touching the implant with gloves or instruments that have touched your skin), reprepping the skin before implant insertion and using a Keller funnel, nipple shields, an inframammary approach, triple antibiotic irrigation of the pocket and of the implant prior to insertion, etc. As to using the fingers to check implant placement or reposition it, the surgeon's gloves should be changed and dipped in triple antibiotic solution prior to handling the implant.
It is difficult to tell anything from your photo, but if the loose skin on your tummy is entirely (or very mainly) below the belly button, then you would be a candidate for a mini (that is, "lower") tummy tuck. If, however, you have loose skin in the upper tummy above the belly button, then this would not be improved by a mini tummy tuck, and a full tummy tuck would be required.
Although breast lifts are relatively straightforward, as are most breast augmentations, the combination of the two at the same time is significantly more complex and poses a greater risk for the need for later revisions. This is because the two procedures (a breast expansion and a breast tightening) do not work together synergistically but instead can work against each other, and the results are less predictable than either procedure on its own. In any event, although it would depend upon exactly what issues you are experiencing, usually most problems can be solved with a revision procedure. Yes, sometimes revisions can be more complex and costly than the initial surgery, but sometimes they are less expensive. You can find a local plastic surgeon, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, by going online at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Good luck with your search.
Although it is difficult to tell what is going on with your lower abdomen in your photos, you say that the lower tummy is saggy. It appears that your upper tummy is pretty good. Liposuction alone would result in some loosening of your skin if it is saggy to begin with. You may be a candidate for a lower or "mini" tummy tuck...which tightens the skin from the belly button down but has no effect on the skin above the belly button. An in-person examination is important to determine what procedure would work best for you.
