I'm Dr. Michael Baumholtz - a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon practicing in the San Antonio region. I have over 17 years experience in 3 different fields including General Surgery, Hand and Microsurgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surger
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Baumholtz for a plastic surgery consultation, then surgery, and follow-up for a Brachioplasty (arm lift). I am thrilled to share my positive experience. From the moment I stepped into the Dr. Baumholtz's Office, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, and any concerns about feeling out of place were quickly dispelled. Despite the clinic's reputation for catering to the upper class, I was treated with the utmost respect and care as a middle-class patient, which I deeply appreciated. Kat, in particular, stood out for her exceptional service. She was attentive, genuine, and went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor made a significant difference in my overall experience. The communication at Dr. Baumholtz’s office is outstanding. The use of the Symplast Patient app is a game-changer, making appointment reminders and inquiries incredibly easy and convenient. (Picture included from in-app.) Additionally, text reminders were helpful. I never felt lost or confused at any point, thanks to the clear and consistent communication provided by the team. (Picture included of text reminders.) The entire process, from the initial consultation to the day-after follow-up, was seamless and transparent. The consultation was thorough, and I received detailed written materials that helped me understand every aspect of my procedure and after care needs. The follow-up care was just as impressive, ensuring I felt supported and taken care of even after my visit. Dr. Baumholtz excels at easing fears with his reassuring and simple approach, making patients feel comfortable and confident in their decisions. He is remarkably realistic, providing honest and clear information about what to expect, which helps set achievable expectations and fosters trust. His professionalism is evident in every interaction, from his thorough consultations to his meticulous follow-up care, ensuring that every patient feels valued and well-informed throughout their journey. I am extremely pleased with my experience at Dr. Baumholtz’s office and with both Dr. Baumholtz and Kat. The professionalism, excellent communication, and genuine care from the staff, especially Kat, made this journey a positive one from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr. Baumholtz and his team to anyone considering plastic surgery.
Great Doctor and Staff. A wonderful experience all around! I had scheduled 3 consultations prior to my visit with Dr Baumholtz office with him being my first consultation ever. I didn't really know what to expect considering I had never had surgery before and was very nervous about the procedure itself. I had done lots of research and only chose to see the doctors with the highest credentials and the best reviews. Dr Baumholtz was my first consultation. When our consultation was over I knew he was going to be my choice but he encouraged me to keep my other appointments for my peace of mind. I torture waiting for each appointment because I was so anxious to have my procedure done. Dr Baumholtz had set the bar pretty high that I felt the other consultations didn't hold a candle to the information and warmth received at his office. Reading Dr B's reviews are a big reason I contacted his office and this is my way a paying it forward to guide someone like me to him. I am very confident you will be treated the same. Dr B and his awesome staff are definitely 10 stars in my book.
Dr B totally exceeded my expectations in every way. After researching and visiting several board certified plastic surgeons he was my choice hands down. His credentials are impressive but what was most impressive was how he and his staff treated me and my wife every visit. His detail to my care was above and beyond my expectations including my results. Thank you Dr B. I will gladly refer you to everyone. You have my highest recommendations.
I’ve wanted breast implants for as long as I can remember. Finally the timing, money, and relationship all lined up. I’m about 5‘3“ and close to 150 pounds. I breastfed for a little over a year ending in 2015. I lost a little volume but not completely flat. I’m slightly asymmetrical with my left side leading the way but not enough for different sized implants. In the black and white simulation, the top is me , the middle is 485cc and the bottom is 605cc. I was going back and forth between the two and chose the Natrelle Inspira SoftTouch 605cc because I didn’t want to have boob envy and have to do this again. Dr. Michael Baumholtz was my surgeon. His staff and bedside manner were all great! I’m about three weeks post-op and I wish I could say I love them. I’m just trying to be patient until the swelling goes down and they look a little more natural. I started massages last week at two weeks and have noticed a slight difference. They’re more modest and concealable in clothing but once the clothes come off, damn the torpedoes! Lol. I think I’m still in shock. I was a small 34B but can’t imagine that I’m anything less than a DD or more likely a DDD. Overall, I think that Dr. Baumholtz and his team did a great job with the consult, information, incision, placement, and after care. Here are some things that I wish I’d considered beforehand: 1) the pain is more than I anticipated 2) don’t overdo it—you may feel good one day and like crap the next 3) plan to seriously rest 4) this is not an experience for the impatient 5) take lots of pictures to chronicle your journey 6) don’t compare yourself to anyone else’s progress or pitfalls. Updated on 8 Apr 2018: 24 days PO and I’m starting to grow fond of my new friends! Lol. I can still fit most clothes and shirts but I finally fill them out properly! Excited for the real drop and fluff!!! Updated on 11 Apr 2018: Dear baby Jesus, please don’t let these things stay high and hard forever. LOL I amused myself by going to Victoria’s Secret today! I tried out a few sports bras and was quite surprised that the small was SOO tight! I was actually stuck for about a minute. ???? Updated on 16 Apr 2018: Although the girls are feeling soft and squishy, they haven’t dropped as much as I thought they would by now. Guess I’ll enjoy this roundness while I can! Updated on 24 Apr 2018: I’m happy to say that my 2K18 boobs are starting to settle and soften a bit. Got cleared to bra shop but I’m going to continue with sports bras until they soften a little more and are actually comfortable in a regular bra. I really like the support of sports bras. They still seem huge, but I think that my mind just needs to adjust to having a rack! Updated on 25 Apr 2018: I’ve been using this coconut oil to prevent stretch marks and skin tenderness. I also massage a little onto the scars. The scar cream is OK for friction, but my scars look kind of funky after I take them off. Updated on 30 Apr 2018: Well it’s been about 45 days and yep...they’re still huge. Lol. Still have some dropping but I think that I’m gonna have to get used to the larger size. Finding bras has been ridiculously tough but I still haven’t gone to Nordstrom so hopefully they have a selection that fits my body type. Anyways, I got hubby to take photos for the update. What a selfless man he is! Ha!!! Updated on 7 May 2018: So I just discovered bending over at the waist and folding or dangling my arms. SO many vertebrae released! Pain has subsided quite a bit this week. Here are some photos that hubby took for me. Updated on 16 May 2018: I’m 2 months out and doing well. I have very little pain and only swell when I have a very busy day. They’re dropping nicely and I’m starting to find bras that fit. I found a good selection at Target for a fraction of the VS prices. T-shirts sports bras and are great at minimizing the size when I want less. The scars are flat and painless. I still massage coconut oil into them daily. Updated on 3 Jun 2018: I’m about 2 1/2 months post op and loving my purchase! :-) They’re finally settling and looking and feeling natural. I’ve mainly worn sports bras except a few times when my uniboob showed. I’m in very little pain and the nerve “zingers” have pretty much subsided. There are still some light bruises but they don’t hurt at all. I helped move three couches today so I’d say that my strength has pretty much returned. Updated on 20 Jun 2018: I’m looking and feeling great. Pain is 2/10, although rarely do I feel pain. They’re squishy and more settled. Still haven’t gone for true sizing but I guess I’ll get around to it. Updated on 31 Jul 2018: Here is my five month update: the girls are settling in well and starting to look more natural. I have very little pain except when I’m premenstrual. Updated on 31 Jul 2018: Hopefully this will work. Updated on 20 Oct 2018: The girls are doing just fine! I have minimal pain as expected (weather changes) but they feel natural and look great! Updated on 11 Dec 2018: Nine months post op.
Ever since I can remember, my huge breasts have caused me issues. In my late teens, I started to develop back pain that only grew more intense over time. I missed out on so many activities because of my back pain, and embarrassing breasts. They were effecting my life so negatively that it was causing depression because I was missing out on so much. Dr. Baumholtz and his staff made me feel comfortable and safe, and they clarified the procedure so I knew exactly what to expect. When I woke up I could feel instant relief, he took 7lbs off of my chest. It's been 4 days post op and I'm already incredibly satisfied with my results and new perky boobs!
I have been waiting to write a review for Dr .B and his staff. In a few words I had a full tt and I will consider myself as plus size . HE IS AMAZING!!!! I am so happy with the results!!! My surgery was Nov 29th 2016.
After having an implant removal / replacement performed by another doctor. I had an emergency surgery to have those implants removed along with alot of breast tissue due to a major infection. I wasn't sure if I'd ever have normal breast again until I met Dr. Baumholtz. He gave me realistic expectations and exceeded them. I couldn't be happier with the results. He is an amazing doctor!! Updated on 6 Aug 2016: This is how I showed up to the emergency room. The previous doctor who had originally done the exchange of my implants said this was normal and with antibiotics I would be fine. When I showed up to the ER I was admitted and scheduled for an emergency surgery to have my breast cleaned out and have tissue removed Updated on 6 Aug 2016: After having both implants removed and being on a wound vac for 5 wks. (Most painful thing I've ever experienced) I was on my road to recovery. I was on a leave of absence from work for 3months Updated on 6 Aug 2016: I wasn't sure if I'd ever be comfortable looking at myself in the mirror again. Thanks to my amazing doctor Dr. Baumholtz I feel normal again . He is amazing and I am forever grateful to him. He recommended fat transfer procedure would be the best option for me. I trusted him and I couldn't be happier with my decision. His bedside manners and the love he has for his patients is beyond any words I can describe. These pictures are after 4 1/2 months of doing reconstruction surgery with fat transfer.
Motivation: After years of back, shoulder and neck pain... I decided to take the dive and get a BR. The pros for me: No more back, shoulder and neck pain. I'll now be able to do more things with my kids-- I can exercise and be more active. Cons: The downtime for surgery. (I know with any surgery you'll have downtime)
I've struggled with my weight my whole life. Having lost a significant amount of weight has left my arms with a huge amount of skin that literally got in the way when using my arms. Both Dr Baumholtz and Carissa (clinical coordinator) were SO encouraging. I'm so glad I did this! Thank you both again. Updated on 3 Dec 2015: So it's been 60 days since my arm procedure n I'm SO happy with my progress. My arms were so out of shape n skin in terrible shape after loosing 100 lbs 4 times in the past. Now at my age and as bad as my skin was, I didn't know what to expect but even if it never heals any better, I'm happy with my arms. I look forward to every day and seeing myself in the mirror because I feel so much better about myself. I only wish I hadn't waited so long!
Dr. Baumholtz and his staff at San Antonio Cosmetic Surgery (SACS) are amazing and by far top notch! From the first day of my consultation and still to this day... When I walk through the frosted glass door and into the SACS office / lobby... I feel as if I am treated with white glove service. With Dr. Baumholtz and his staff it is by far all about his patients and ensuring their needs are being met and questions answered!! When it came time for me to have my procedure... Dr. Baumholtz and his staff worked very diligently in arranging Dr. Baumholtz schedule, and making special arrangements at the hospital to perform my surgery for the particular day I requested... even though this was a non- surgery day for Dr. Baumholtz! His staff worked very closely with me even though, this required them to work until 7:45pm the evening prior to my surgery date... All cause I requested/ wanted my surgery on a certain date! I would have to rate Dr. Baumholtz As the best most amazing Breast Augmentation Surgeon in San Antonio, Texas!! The evening of my surgery... Dr. Baumholtz Called me himself to make sure I was okay!! His office staff and office manager have even checked in on me from time to time to ensure I am good!! I am 2 weeks post op and feel amazing and already off and enjoying my family vacation!!! I am both so blessed and pleased that I chose Dr. Baumholtz and his staff!!! I trust in and recommend Dr. Baumholtz 100+%! Thank you for all the extra effort and time you all put into making my dream come true! Because of you... I feel more confident and beautiful as a women! That in itself is priceless! Thank you for all the warm welcomes and making me feel as if I have known you forever! I had 4 consultations with SACS and 3 other plastic surgery facilities and could not get back to SACS fast enough to schedule my Breast Augmentation surgery! Other doctors not as nice and personable and staff not as happy to see and welcome you as the staff at SACS!
