For the past 1 year prior to surgery, I was suffering from symptoms of breast implant illness; painful joints, fatigue, myalgias, frequent upper respiratory illness, dry skin and itching, poor running and work out endurance. My implants were put in ~ 10 years ago. I eliminated other causes of illness with blood work, X-rays, and care from specialist including orthopedics, sports medicine, primary care, and chiropractic care. By the time I sought out Dr Pedersen for consultation to remove my breast implants I felt like my health was declining so rapidly I would not make it another year. I also had diastasis recti and an uncomfortable umbilical hernia from my most recent pregnancy. Dr Pedersen was genuinely concerned and understanding. I was able to be scheduled rather quickly. He removed my implants and the breast capsule. I also underwent abdominoplasty, and umbilical hernia repair. I felt better almost immediately. I regained color in my face, my joint pain was gone, and I felt like I had life again. I had a great experience with both procedures. Friendly and informative staff and good follow up! I was referred to Dr. Pedersen by my OBGYN. I felt comfortable with him the moment I walked into his office. His staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They were helpful and understanding from the beginning and have been throughout this whole process. Tomorrow is my three week check up and I couldn't be happier. I had my breast implants removed, with a breast lift and I also had a tummy tuck with muscle repair. I'd be lying if I said it was an easy recovery, but I feel they set realistic expectations of how you would feel. You need help the first week for sure. When I see myself in the mirror I can't believe its my body! The weekend after my surgery I had some additional questions for Dr. Pedersen and he took the time to talk to me more than once on a Saturday night. His ladies in the office addressed all my questions either over the phone or by email right away as well. If you need a good plastic surgeon, Dr. Pedersen is your guy! I would chose him again. I cannot thank Dr Pedersen more!!! It has taken me YEARS to figure out what was wrong with my stomach. Years of my doctor telling me I was obese, calories in vs calories out, exercise more. I have gone through a number of laparoscopic surgeries. Had an ovary removed, my gallbladder removed. Had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Been under the treatment of a chiropractor. Nothing was working. Told maybe my pain level was just too low, take more Tylenol and watch your calories and exercise more. Multiple prescriptions to be bandaides for what was going on. Well in August I said enough and made a last ditch appointment and guess what you are looking at the results! The diagnosis- diatisis recti. I am 3 weeks post op! No more heart burn, no more IBS symptoms, no more female issues and no more back pain!!! The first row of photos is me 6 weeks ago the night before surgery. The other is TODAY!

I’m a 36 year old mom of 4. I’m an avid runner and gym rat, but after 4 pregnancies, 3 c-sections and horrible diastasis recti, my abdomen was never going to look normal again without some type of intervention. After researching several surgeons in the area, as well as having more than one consultation, I chose Dr. Pedersen. He has wonderful bedside manner and takes the time to really hear your concerns. He will make you feel at ease with your exciting, although rather scary decision. The first few days were rough, as expected. But after that, the recovery was not bad. The results are incredible and have exceeded my expectations by a landslide. If I can do it with 4 young kids, anyone can! I have been working out for years but still unable to get rid of my big belly. I guess I thought after all these years, this was as good as it was going to get. I looked at reviews and pictures online but could not find someone my age having this done. I scheduled a consultation with Dr, Pederson because he has a great reputation. He assured me that my age was not an issue as I was fit and healthy. Since then, I am positively over the moon, ecstatic with the results. This doctor delivered everything he said he would. I figured it was time someone let others know that it is never too late. Now, I have the body that fits the way I feel. Updated on 3 Apr 2021: You are never too old to stop caring what you look like. So glad I had this done. I could not find anybody in my age range that had done this. I looked at reviews, before and after pictures but none of them were my age. So glad I scheduled the consult. Now my outer body matches how I feel on the inside. Updated on 4 Apr 2021: Wow, what a difference this made in the way I look, but even more so in how I feel. I am so grateful to Dr. Pederson. He was honest and very kind. Every single person that works with him was very compassionate and professional. Dr. Pedersen came in to make sure I was comfortable and understood exactly what would happen. Anesthesia was gentle and understanding and explained each step. I had Exparel during the surgery and am so glad I did. Kept me very comfortable the first few days which are usually the most difficult. I am very happy with my results and glad that I chose Dr. Pedersen. Absolutely worth it! Updated on 27 Jan 2022: I am so happy with my results even a year after my surgery. I feel great. I am motivated to work out more. I joined a clothing styling service because I love the way I look and feel in new styles. No more baggy shirts for me!. Updated on 24 Feb 2022: The results of my tummy tuck have motivated me to lose an additional 10 lbs. this year! I am thinking of having some additional liposuction but would not consider any other doctor than John C. Pedersen, MD.

1-week post-op. (Abdominoplasty, Breast lift with silicone implants, Lipectomy of hips, and posterior flanks). Extremely impressed with my procedure! I am still very swollen and understand with time and patience my results will keep enhancing. Dr. Pedersen and the staff made this experience worthwhile! Everything was explained and presented professionally.  After 2 large pregnancies and two c-sections, I desperately needed attention on my abdominal wall and tummy (and the breast lift and implants were a nice bonus)! I definitely can say 1-week post-op. I look even better than before kids! For me, the recovery is more intense than my c-sections. Luckily my kids are 4 & 6 and can do a lot on their own.  The first four days I had a grandma help with kids, cooking, and cleaning. With freezer meal prep and doing this at a time, the kids are off school made this easier. I still feel most comfortable sleeping in a recliner with pillows. Water and Tylenol extra strength are my best friends! Having a great surgeon and a supportive family at home it's been a nice recovery. Any questions I had after surgery Dr. Pedersen was easy to contact and assured me what I was feeling with was normal. I am still in complete shock at the changes and trying to adjust to my beautiful new shape! If you are thinking about a procedure like this I suggest getting a consultation with Dr. Pedersen!

I am 45 and have 4 kids. I had a 3 finger separation and a pouch in my lower belly. I found Dr. Pedersen to be direct and answered all of my questions. I had researched a lot of information about what to expect with a tummy tuck, so I felt like I was prepared, but Dr. Pedersen made sure to ask if I had any other concerns. I did ask about liposuction, but he said I didn’t need it. I really liked that instead of pushing me into a procedure I didn’t need, he gave me his opinion and then let me choose what was best for me. I had the procedure at the surgery center in Fairlawn. Every single person I interacted with was very professional and kind. I was so impressed and really was treated so well. They reviewed exactly what I wanted done, and Dr. Pedersen came in to make sure I was comfortable and understood exactly what would happen. Anesthesia came in and was super nice, asking if I wanted a patch behind my ear to help prevent vomiting after surgery (I did). I woke up in recovery and the nurses were amazing. Made sure I was not in pain. I had the Exparel during the surgery and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! It was so very worth the extra $300! Was not in pain when I woke up. Started to get a bit uncomfortable after a little bit and the nurses were immediately on it to stop the pain. I am very happy with my results and very happy I chose Dr. Pedersen and this surgery center. The pain was not as bad as I expected it to be. About the same as my C-section, but if you stay on top of the pain meds, it was totally manageable. I never felt a time when it was severe. Great experience!

I am 27 years old and have 3 kids. After my pregnancy 3 years ago, I was left with diastasis recti. I was able to get my 5 finger width seperation down to about a 2 with exercise and it somehow blew back out to 4. I have been waiting patiently for 3 years for this and feel very excited for my upcoming surgery. My experience with Dr. Pederson has been fantastic so far and I can't wait to see what he can do. Updated on 25 Sep 2020: Had my tummy tuck yesterday and am doing fantastic. I felt well prepared beforehand thanks to my doctor and I feel like it has already made a difference in how I am recovering. I can't wait to see it without the binder. Updated on 29 Sep 2020: Had my follow up appointment today. The drain wasn't ready to come out yet but I feel great otherwise. Swelling is starting to go down too. Hopefully I can get this drain out next week. Next appointment is in 3 weeks with the surgeon. Updated on 4 Oct 2020: My fluid output in my drain has been less than 20 cc since Friday. I'll call to make my appointment on Monday to get it out finally. Today I noticed less swelling and the bruising is starting to go away. I can see a figure forming instead of a bunch of swelling now. Updated on 13 Oct 2020: On Thursday I had started draining from my incision which was surprising. I went into the office and was told it was just drainage and nothing to worry about. It has since stopped and my incision is looking very good and less red. I go back to work this week and finally feel like I can actually handle it okay now. I feel rather normal now other than swelling. Updated on 30 Oct 2020: I have been back at work for a couple weeks now and am doing great. I will say that I have had to buy mutiple different types of spanx. Depending on what I'm doing, some of them can get uncomfortable. I also had to go out and buy a large last week and now a medium this week. I am also being forced to buy clothes because although I am only 5 weeks post, my clothes are too big. I still have bad days though like today. I have been so swollen I could hardly get around without something hurting. I dont recall doing anything to cause it but we will see tomorrow.
