Dr. John C. Pedersen is a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 22 years of experience, practicing in Akron, Ohio. A specialist in breast augmentation and breast implant revision surgeries, Dr. Pedersen has extensive experience in microvascular surgery, which also allows him to perform DIEP (deep inferior epigastric perforators) flap breast reconstruction. Dr. Pedersen received his medical degree from Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. During this period, he participated in an internship at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio where he later completed a general surgery residency. Dr. Pederson went on to complete a Plastic Surgery Residency at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, followed by a Microsurgery Fellowship at the renowned Kristen M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, where he served as a member of the first American hand transplant team. A firm believer in giving back, Dr. Pedersen is the Founder and CEO of Breast Oasis, a nonprofit organization that partners with brands such as Le Mystère and Bloomingdale's to provide women in need with gently used bras and healthcare information. Dr. Pedersen is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
