Dr. Poulos and everyone at PSS is so amazing! Honest, genuine, patient, kind - everything! I have felt respected and cared for since I very first stepped in the office. I am so grateful!
I had my surgery on April 9th and have been home recovering.

What a relief! I did not think the drains were bugging me much but out they came and WOOSH! What a relief! Bit of swelling still but I am so, so, so happy! I can feel the muscle repair and hernia are gone/fixed/tight. So grateful! My left upper thigh hurts like crazy from the swelling but that will subside soon enough. Took a pain pill and a nap on my bed for the first rime in a week! Slept 4 hours straight. OMG! i am so elated and happy about my decision.
My honey is so glad the drains are gone. He doesn't do me sick or down very well so I know he's happy I am getting better. Asked how much weight I have lost so far LOL. No idea, and he said he didn't care. Silly men.

I am the mom of three boys (17, 15, 6) and three daughters (20, 18, 13) shared with my husband. They are fiesty, healthy, opinionated and most of the time I love them all. Like many, holding those three boys in and getting them out left my body a mess: pelvic floor pulled, diastasis recti, blah, blah, blah. I never wanted to be "skinny" or anything else, I just don't want to be ashamed of my body.
I am so happy I did this for me.
Still a bit of swelling but oh my! A flat belly. Shut the front door!

Yesterday I was up a lot moving abiut and found my abdomen very tired and back sore. Noticed I was swollen a bit and that was discouraging but a reminder that this is a long process and i am only 8 days post op. My left leg still is super swollen and hurts.
But the good news is that my undies are not rolling down for the first time in forever! Goal achieved!!
Time for a nap.

Not joking, the pain is so real! I researched and stalked this procedure FOR YEARS but holy hit balls!! The swelling pain is real!
I like to think I am on the healthy, albeit curvy side of the spectrum. I run a construction firm with my husband and have always loced being able to shut the lumber gronies up. I had two babies naturally and have a crazy tolerance for pain.
This pain the last few days is crazy. 10 days post op and apparently doing too much. Tonight I feel like day 3. God bless those who I've read are running, in jeans, etc.. God bless them. But i am so not there. I know it will be good but, Ouch. To bed I go

About 6/7 weeks post op and just had my incision repaired. I had one area just under my belly button that was not closing and healing. M own personal "spring"! I can now appreciate even more why the numbing meds get used. This repair hurts a bit, but it was necessary and I know it will all be worth it. It was kinda gross having to change the bandages so often.
I am so lucky to be working wit Dr. P and all his staff at PSS - I just love them! So compassionate, answers all my questions and keeps me excited for the results. I will post pics soon, but if you are thinking of doing this DO IT!! The recovery is WAY harder than I had in my mind, and a little slower for me because of the open wound issue, but every single day I am glad I make the decision. I even bought a two piece bathing suit for summer for the first time in like 30 years and I am only 46!
