I have been considering a breast reduction and lift for several years. After age 50 my breasts started to get droopy. I always had great breasts but aging changes our bodies. My surgeon did an excellent job! I have zero regrets and I'm so happy that I did it . It's been three weeks since my surgery and I love the results already. If you are contemplating this surgery, I say go for it! Updated on 10 May 2017: I can't believe that I can go braless and look this good! I'm so happy with my result. I'm just 4 weeks post op. I feel like Im 35 again. Updated on 13 Jun 2017: Now that my surgery incisions are closed and no scabs are present it's time for scar therapy. These silicone tapes are reusable for about 3 weeks. They are pretty pricey though. I made the investment in my new boobs so I should do everything to take care of them. My scars are very flat and I'm sure they will fade over time. My boobs look good!!! Updated on 20 Jun 2017: It's been 9 weeks and 5 days. Surgeon says that my breasts will round out about this time in my recovery. My right side is rounding faster than my left. I'm still getting "zingers of pain" every now and then. My nipple color is not as pink as they were originally. I'm going to be patient and watch for changes. Next week I will see my surgeon again for follow up. How long do these "zingers" last? Updated on 6 Jul 2017: I'm now 12 weeks post op and feeling so good. I've been wearing my silicone scar treatment for over a month. My scars look really good. I still have some soreness and lots of zingers. So happy with my new girls! Updated on 13 Jul 2017: Things are going well. Swelling seems to be decreasing. I still have pulling and tightness underneath my breasts. I've been massaging the scars to loosen up the tissue. Rarely getting the zingers of pain now. My new breasts are soft again and they feel natural. Still very happy!!!
Getting excited about my surgery scheduled for April 3. Im 49 and my eyes look so tired. I feel young and I'd like to look younger and not so tired. Doctor says my lower eyelids are worse than my uppers. My upper lids have become more and more hooded as I age. I'm eating right, drinking lots of water and taking my vitamins. Three days prior to surgery I will start taking arnica montana to help with bruising and swelling. So ready! Updated on 28 Mar 2014: Only 6 more days until my surgery. I had my blood work done yesterday. Emailed with my doctors staff and they are sending my pharmacy the prescriptions so I can get them filled ahead of time. This will be antibiotic ointment, antibiotic pills and pain meds. My surgery is scheduled for 7am on Thursday. I will be having my surgery in my PS's surgery center in his office under general anesthesia. He tells me it's about a 2 hour surgery. Feeling like I need to get everything wrapped up with work and needing to clean my house and do laundry and get all of my other duties done so I can just relax and heal after surgery. I'm thinking about using a zero gravity lounge chair to sleep in after surgery so I can stay elevated. I'm a stomach sleeper and this is going to be so hard!!!! If I try to stay propped up in my bed I think I will roll over and hurt my face. I haven't told my friends or parents about my choice for surgery, although they have heard me say over and over that I want it done for my 50th birthday. Let's see who notices first. LOL Keeping all of my thoughts positive and visualizing a beautiful more youthful look! Updated on 29 Mar 2014: Just wanted to add a few "before photos". 5 more days!!! Updated on 1 Apr 2014: Spoke with my PS's office today. I was able to ask my questions regarding Thursday's surgery. I will arrive at surgery center at 7:00 am and be prepped for surgery. Photos will be taken for my "before". Dr. and anesthesiologist will come in and answer any questions and go over procedure and expectations. Dr. will perform his magic on my eyes and I will recover for awhile. I will go home with the nurse's cell phone number and I can call her anytime over the weekend. She will contact Dr. if needed. I will be taking Vicodin for pain or Tylenol 3 as needed. He also prescribes an oral antibiotic so I don't need eye ointment which can limit my vision. I like that! I'm told not to use anything on my eyes except ice until after the stitches come out in 1 week. I'm taking arnica currently and will continue that after surgery. On day 8 I have an appointment to get my hair done. On day 11 will be my husband's birthday dinner in a low lighting restaurant. I guess at that point my parents will know what I've done. LOL Still finishing up all of my work and home chores. I'm a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager so I'm super busy. Trying to hide out might be challenging but so far everything should be quiet for the first week. Hubby will take care of me for the first 4 days then he'll go back to work. I know I will be much better by then. Super excited and I'm feeling so positive and lucky to be able to have this opportunity to improve my eyes. Just grateful for my blessings!!! Stay tuned. . . Updated on 4 Apr 2014: Piece of cake! Doc said everything went great. No bleeding and no problems. Going back on Tuesday to remove stitches. I can see fine to watch TV and use my ipad.. Been using my frozen peas and eye mask. Taking my antibiotic every 4 hours. Doc says icing is important for the first 24 hours after that it's up to me. No laying down flat so I'm in my zero gravity chair. It's 2:39 am and just got up to watch some TV. I have the nurses cell number if I need anything. All is well and so far super easy and no big deal :-)) Updated on 4 Apr 2014: Some lovely day after surgery photos Updated on 4 Apr 2014: My friend came by for a visit today and brought me some lovely flowers. After our visit I took a nice hot bubble bath. Washed my face very carefully around my taped eyes. Pretty tender to move the washcloth around. Had to pat the face instead of rubbing. I feel so clean and new. No pain at all. My nurse called to check on me and I let her know I'm doing great. I think I'll go for a little walk down the street tomorrow with sunglasses on. My eyes are not as runny now. Getting hungry for dinner! That's a good sign. Updated on 4 Apr 2014: Ready for bed tonight. Had 3 visitors today and I'm done. No pain and I can feel the healing taking place :-)) Updated on 5 Apr 2014: I slept super well last night. I only got up once and took an antibiotic pill. Hubby made me breakfast and I took a bath and got dressed. I think I'll rest this morning and then take a walk this afternoon. Bruising is very minimal. Absolutely no pain and I feel pretty good! Updated on 6 Apr 2014: Feeling really good today. Washed my hair in the bathtub with hubby's help. It's hard to blow dry my hair because it pulls my scalp which pulls my forehead which lifts my eye tape. It doesn't really hurt but in a way it kind of tickles. Taking it easy today but going to a friends for dinner. I put away the pain pills and still taking oral antibiotic and arnica. Can't wait for the tape to be off!!! Updated on 7 Apr 2014: This tape is driving me nuts!!! I feel good today but I'll still take a nap. So looking forward to tomorrow when the stitches come out. It's like Christmas and I get to open my present. Updated on 8 Apr 2014: I took a Vicodin before going to see my PS just in case. It did hurt while stitches were being removed. A little pinching and burning but so worth it. I can't get over how great I look. Dr. wants me back in 2 weeks and we will take his "after" photos. I love my new look! It will be even better in the upcoming days :-)). No makeup allowed until Dr. Gives me the green light. Updated on 9 Apr 2014: I am so happy! So glad my hooded eyes are gone. Hubby tells me he doesn't see it because he still sees me as the 30 year old that he fell in love with. I guess "love is blind". I would highly recommend this to anyone that is bothered by their hooded eyes. Updated on 10 Apr 2014: Feeling great! Tomorrow night going out for hubby's bday with the parents. Do you think my Mom will notice???? LOL Updated on 11 Apr 2014: It's 8 days since my surgery. Got my hair done this morning and I feel like myself now. Ok, I've covered my bruises on my under eye area and I'm getting ready for hubby's birthday dinner. I bet my Mom won't notice a thing. Still super happy with my decision and I know it's going to continue to improve everyday :-)) Updated on 14 Apr 2014: Getting better everyday! Feeling good and my eyes are looking 10 years younger. My bruises are faded but still noticeable. Updated on 15 Apr 2014: Everyday get better! My lash lines are still numb which is normal per my PS. The tenderness is going away finally. Still sleeping on my back so I can heal better. No eye makeup yet because PS said makeup can stain my incisions. I wouldn't want to rub the area either for makeup removal. Trying to avoid the sun here is sunny SoCal as best as I can. Updated on 18 Apr 2014: So grateful to Dr. Hicks for his ability to improve my eyes! I look much younger and more refreshed in just 2 weeks time. I'm overjoyed with my decision to change what bothered me. Forever grateful ?? Updated on 6 May 2014: It's been a month since surgery. All of the tenderness is gone. The scars are fading very nicely. I'm am so happy I had this done! What do you guys think? Updated on 31 May 2014: I saw my PS the other day. He said there is still a little swelling under my eyes. We are both very happy with the results. PS wants to see me again in six weeks for last follow up. My scars are very faded and nobody would ever know what I had done. If you are considering this surgery, do it! Best gift that you can give yourself! :-)) Updated on 17 Jun 2014: It's been 10 weeks since my surgery. My eyes continue to change as things settle in. My scars are very light and really hard to see. Eyeshadow was not too smooth over the scars over the last few weeks. Now makeup is easier to apply over the scars because they have healed so much. I'm really happy that I did the surgery and my results are fantastic! If you are reading this because you are considering having eye lid surgery, I say do it! Updated on 16 Jul 2014: I went to see my PS for a final check up. He and I are both happy with my results. Here are my before and after photos. So glad I had this surgery. My PS was fantastic and I have a very natural look. I feel so lucky! Forever grateful to Dr. Hicks. Updated on 4 Aug 2014: It's been 4 months since my surgery and all is great! Seems like everything has settled into place. It's really hard to see any scar lines at this point. I started using Rapid Lash a few weeks ago and my eyelashes are healthier and thicker than before. I am just tickled with my results!!! Thank you all for your kind words :-)) Updated on 11 Aug 2014: Well, it's been over 4 months since my surgery and I continue to receive kind & beautiful messages from women around the world. I am so grateful for the support here. I hope anyone reading this that has not had the surgery can find the courage to take the step forward and do what you have been dreaming about. It's fantastic and amazing how great I feel at 50!!! So grateful :-)) Updated on 2 Oct 2014: People told me that I wouldn't see my final results for at least six months. Here we are and tomorrow will be six months since my surgery on April 3, 2014. I am thrilled beyond words with my final results! I feel so much better after my "makeover" surgery. My eyes looks great and it was so worth it. It is so wonderful to feel confident again. I'm 50 now and I feel fantastic! Updated on 2 Oct 2014: Here is my Before and After - 6 month follow-up Updated on 13 Dec 2014: Well, it's been over a month since my surgery. I'm so happy with my results. Today I received a sweet note from another bleth surgery patient here on Realself and it made me think that I should post another update. I am 50 years old and I feel fantastic. Having this surgery is a great self esteem booster and I'm so glad that I did it. Just know that the healing process continues for many months. Everything smooths out over time. My best advice is to use sunscreen daily and find a great skin care system that works for you. After my surgery I started using Paula's Choice skin care and it's really changed my skin for the better. I have never tried Botox or fillers either. Be good to yourself, eat well, drink less alcohol and keep a great attitude. Feel free to comment or ask questions because I'm happy to talk about this simple, yet life changing experience. Thanks for listening :-)
I am 39 and the mother of 1 16 year old beautiful daughter. Married to my wonderful husband and best friend for almost 19 years. We have been together for over 21 years. I started putting on the weight right after we said I do. I had gastric bypass weight loss surgery August 16, 2010 and have lost 123 pounds. I lost all muscle mass and fat in my breast and stomach. My insurance approved my tummy tuck so I thought I might as well get my breast lifted and add implants to give me shape since I had no muscle or fat left in them causing them to sage and hang really bad. I was not going to live my young life with those horribly hideous breasts. I had my consoltaion 10/12/12 and submitted to my insurance my request for a tummy tuck and it was approved 2 weeks later. I scheduled my surgery for March 15, 2013 around my husbands vacation time so that he could help care for me. Everything went smoothly and I am now 18 days post op and feel better everyday. I don't like to be with our my full girdle/ binder as I feel really swollen and unsecured and actually feel discomfort when I am not held in tightly. I can't wait to be healed100% I know I have a ways to go but I am being patient. My breast are still really hard and look like I have 2 baseballs under my skin. Dr. said this is very normal and needs time for my muscles to relax and then my implants will settle in place in time. I hope so. Only time will tell. I will say that I will take these over my hideous hanging old ones. LOL. I did not really have pain in my breast. I did have a stinging, burning sensation under my breast along the incision areas and around my nipples, but nothing that I could not handle. You have to be careful not to use your muscles. I notice when I try and lift myself from my recliner or lean my weight by my arm/elbow to get off the toilet and feel that I am pulling little muscles and it's like a shocking sensation. I don't like it. Anyone else have this????Updated on 5 Apr 2013:I had most stitches removed yesterday 4/4/13! Today is 3 full weeks po and I am feeling much, much better. I went and got a pedicure and a nail fill with my daughter. I don't go back to see my Dr. for 2 weeks now to have remaining stitches in my belly button removed. I am going back to my office job Monday 4/8/13Updated on 9 Apr 2013:Went back to my office job yesterday and ended with a lot of swelling by the end of the day. I doubled up on my compression garments today and felt better. This Friday April 12th will be 4 full weeks since my surgery. My new boobies are healing very well. I feel my nerves starting to grow on my left nipples. Feels like little shocks or tingling. Not the most comfortable but doable. I feel nothing on my right nipple :-( I can't wait for my implants to soften and settle in place looking more natural. How long will it take? I'm told 3 months??? I will post pictures Sunday.Updated on 11 Apr 2013:Today is 28 PO 4/11/13. I am feeling great with my new boobies. I have no pain whatsoever and my incisions are healing beautifully. My TT is healing nice also. My tummy is still swollen whenever I am active. I went back to work this past Monday and by the time I get home, I am really swollen. When I wake up in the morning, I am flat. I still wear my full girdle for support because without it, I feel really bloated and swollen and really uncomfortable. I am sleeping on my side now with long body pillow between my legs and I rest my top arm on the top of the pillow so that I don't put my arm weight on my new boob. Trying to get as much rest as I can. Only work then home with feet up in my recliner.Updated on 22 Apr 2013:Breast are healing nicely. I could not be more pleased. I absolutely love my PS. Still waiting for them to settle in place and soften, but so far so good. My incisions are lighting and I have prescription cream my Dr. gave me to rub on them 2-3 times per day to lighten. I will be ordering the scar tape soon.Updated on 26 Apr 2013:Today is my 6 week post op and I am feeling wonderful! My next step is to start to fade my scares as soon as I see my Dr. in 5 weeks.Updated on 3 May 2013:I'm pretty much the same today 7 weeks PO as I was last week. No pictures needed. I still have midday to evening swelling. I wear my compression garment when I get home from work after my shower and I sleep in it. I wake up flat and then start the the whole cycle over. I really can't wait for swelling to be totally gone.
I am 39 years old. I am married to my wonderful husband who I have been with for 21 years. We have a 16 year old beautiful daughter. I had gastric bypass weight loss surgery August 16, 2010. I have lost 123 pounds and had a lot of skin hanging from my belly area. I also had large handing flat breasts due to all the fat and muscle loss. I decided to have a tummy tuck after my friend had it done and she was very happy with her Plastic Surgeon. I called and made a free consultation on 10/12/12. We decided to submit my tummy tuck procedure to my insurance to see if they would cover it and they did approve it to my surprise. At that point I decided to go ahead and get my breasts lifted and add implants for shape. I also wanted my pubic area liposuctioned all at the same time. I scheduled my surgery for March 15, 2013. I am now 17 days out from my surgery and each day continues to be challenging, but better then the day before. This procedure is one of the most difficult to recover from and you need to expect to recover 4-6 weeks. I gave myself 2-3 weeks to return to work and at this moment, I already let my office know I will not be in the 3rd week and I will let them know come Friday, April 5th If I will be coming back Monday, April 8th. My health and healing are way more important money. The key is to take it day by day and to be patient with the recovery and don't panic when you see you tummy swollen. It is going to take weeks for it to get back to normal. Hang in there and feel free to ask any questions you want... Good luck to you! Updated on 5 Apr 2013: Today is 3 full weeks post op and I am feeling much better. I went and treated myself to a pedicure and a nail fill :) Yesterday I went in to the PS to have most of my stitches removed. He removed all from my tummy tuck and from under my breast lift incisions and a few from my belly button. I will tell you that when he removed the stitch from under my right breast, hurt so bad! My daughter could hear me yelling from the waiting room which was down the hall. Pure torture I tell ya! but the left side went smoothly. I am just glad it's out. I now go in 2 weeks to have the remaining stitches from belly button to be removed. Updated on 5 Apr 2013: I had most stitches removed yesterday 4/4/13! Today is 3 full weeks po and I am feeling much, much better. I went and got a pedicure and a nail fill with my daughter. I don't go back to see my Dr. for 2 weeks now to have remaining stitches in my belly button removed. I am going back to my office job Monday 4/8/13 Updated on 9 Apr 2013: So I went back to work yesterday. I was very swollen by midday and really swollen by shower time. I wore my compression garment but it was not good enough. Today was a bit better because I wore my full body girdle and my spanx shorts for extra support. Not the most comfortable but had to for it to get through my 8 hour day. This Friday will be 4 weeks post open and I feel better each day Just really want to swelling to be gone. Does anyone know exactly how long swelling lasts? My tummy and pubic area are still pretty numb. My stomach muscle kill if I sneeze, blow nose or even laugh. I get up and down very easy now. I still have to sleep on my back. I'm uncomfortable on my side. Updated on 11 Apr 2013: Today is 27 days PO and I'm off from work today and plan on just going to have a nice breakfast with my husband and come home and put my feet up in the recliner :-) I'm still swollen and I ware my compression girdle 24/7. I will continue to do so until I am completely healed and no more swelling. I found a dissolveble stitch sticking out from my incision. I grabbed tweezers to see if I could pull it out and it would not. I did not want to force it so I just left it. I see my PS next Thursday 4/18/13. He will remove remaining stitches in my BB. I am very thrilled with my results and highly recommend my PS. I am eating better now. I am able to sleep on my sides now so I am getting better sleep. FYI, have a body pillow to put between your legs and keep your arm propped up as to not have arm weight resting on your new breast. I just want swelling to be gone so I can get out of this girdle! Updated on 13 Apr 2013: Hi everyone! Yesterday was 4 full weeks since my surgery. I completed my full work week with major swelling each evening I came home. Every morning I was flat and dreading the end of each work day due to the swelling. I wear my CG 24/7 except to shower and wash it of course and I can't wait to get back in it. I feel so unsecure and bloated without it. I am so over the swelling and I hear I will have many more weeks of it still ahead of me. I'm just trying to be patient and take it one day at a time. I am completely staying put this weekend to rest and help my swelling before starting a new work week. I have a date with my recliner, remote and TV :-). I see my PS next Thursday 4/18 to have remaining few stitches removed from my BB. Next Friday will be 5 weeks PO. I will post pictures then. Updated on 16 Apr 2013: Today is 33 day PO and I am feeling so much better! I can really see the beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel :) I sleep so much better on my sides. I stand up straight now. I walk faster and better. I take showers easier. Get up and down easy. The swelling is still there every day in the evening and flat in the morning. I still wear my compression girdle 24/7. I see my PS this Thursday to have the last stitch removed from my BB and I will get 2nd stage girdle. I think the girdles are critical for my healing and will wear it for as long as it takes. My breast as still really firm and can tell it will take months before they settle in place and fall down a little more. I did notice today that they are red under neath. I am a little concerned and I am hoping they are not infected. We will see how they are come Thursday. This work week so far has been much better. Last week was pretty stressful and I rested in my recliner the whole past weekend. I look forward to resting again this weekend. So far so good :) pretty happy with my results so far. I can not wait to be able to get my butt back to the gym and start working out and firming up :) I had a good workout session with my hubby this evening ;-) and everything seemed to be OK so I think I can go to the gym, but I will see what Dr. says on Thursday. Updated on 22 Apr 2013: 4/19/13 was 5 weeks PO and I am feeling so much better! I still get mid day/ evening swelling, but that is just to be expected since I am up and about now. Now gym for another 2-3 weeks Dr. said on Thursday 4/18/13. Said the stitches in my stomach muscle will be there for 5 more months! He said we need to take it easy because we could pull apart our muscles and no way in HECK do I want that to happen so I will take it easy. Updated on 26 Apr 2013: Today is exactly 6 weeks ago I changed my life forever in the best way possible! I feel so much better this past week and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I still have swelling by mid day and major by the end of the evening. After sleeping all night, totally flat when I wake up. Dr. said It will be this way for the next month or 2. I am fine with it. How are you recovering?? Updated on 28 Apr 2013: Today is a good day. Really taking it easy and resting with my feet up every chance I get. How are you spending your day off during your recovery? Updated on 3 May 2013: Today is my 7 week PO and I am feeling the same as @ 6 weeks. Nothing changed. I still have swelling by midday to evening. When I come home from work, I take my shower and put my compression garment on and sit back in my recliner with my feet up until it's time for bed. I wake up flat only to be swollen by midday :( Can't wait for the the swelling to be totally gone. How is everyone else healing?? Updated on 4 May 2013: . Updated on 4 May 2013: :) Updated on 19 Jun 2013: 15 weeks post OP. I still have swelling :-( some days better then others. I look exactly the same as my last pictures only my scars are a little lighter and my breasts have settled more in place and feel so much more natural. I will post pictures soon. I hope everyone is healing healthy and nicely.
I posted a review of Dr. Hicks titled African American Rhinoplasty w/ Dr. Pearman D. Hicks on December 6, 2016 which details my entire experience with this doctor. I had a primary rhinoplasty and so-called revision that has left my nose looking deformed. The photos in my review speak for themselves. He will pay for this and I will report him to the medical board.
Day1 after surgery and I'm very sore. I have sensation in my nipples (yaaay) currently icing as often as possible. I'm taking Norco for pain and Keflex to prevent infection. I get to shower tomorrow for the first time since surgery day.Updated on 2 Feb 2017: My back is killing me! My most pain is not from the implants, but from the uncomfortable chest strap squeezing on my back. I will definitely be getting a massage as soon as my doctor gives me the okay.Updated on 15 Feb 2017: Feeling nearly back to normal. My nipples are still very sensitive (If the wind blows my shirt up against them, it hurts like crazy lol) I still cannot sleep comfortably on my side, but hopefully that changes soon as I am a side/stomach sleeper.Updated on 15 Mar 2017: Before photo ; 1 week post op and current photo
I had my primary surgery with Dr. Hicks on 7/1/2016 after much research on the internet and several consultations with other doctors. I mainly chose Dr. Hicks because of his many years of experience as a surgeon, his online reviews (which I have since been informed are fake), and his reasonable pricing. Before surgery I had a small dorsal hump which I had always wanted to get rid of since high school. I thought this task could be accomplished very simply by an experienced surgeon...well I was WRONG! After the first surgery I ended up with two different profiles. The left side was what I had asked for, but the right side not only looked like it hadn't been worked on, but had an extra curved hump on the side which made my nose look bowed and crooked from the front and prevented me from being able to wear glasses properly. Dr. Hicks kept assuring me from the time the cast came off that the bump would go away, but after two months of seeing absolutely no progress I became anxious to know when I could get a revision. After the two month follow up appointment Dr. Hicks informed me that the scars inside my nose needed to heal first before he went back in. At this point I thought about how it would be in my best interest to wait and so i did. I didn't even bother going back to see Dr. hicks until November 8, 2016 because I knew that going and being told to wait some more was pointless. Plus on that two month appointment, Dr. Hicks became upset because I told him that the bump on my right side hadn't changed since the cast came off. Dr. Hicks then stated "Yes it did, and if there's still a bump on it after the second surgery I'm not doing the surgery again". Imagine how I felt being told this knowing that I couldn't afford to pay for the surgery all over again with another doctor, yet certainly didn't want to spend years walking around looking jacked-up until I could afford it. Plus he was the only one who had any control over the outcome of the surgery, not me. The next couple of months was very depressing and stressful contemplating whether or not I should go back to Dr. Hicks for my revision; plus I had spoken with another one of his dissatisfied patients over the phone which didn't make my decision making process any easier. After weighing my options I came to the conclusion that since I only had one bad side left and he said it would only take half an hour to fix it, then I would go ahead and get it all over with. So on Nov. 8, 2016 I scheduled my revision for Nov. 11, 2016. Updated on 7 Dec 2016: Continuing from the previous review....Before the surgery the doctor's assistant emailed my instructions for surgery and under the heading "Surgery to be Performed" it stated Revision Rhinoplasty-removal of silicone nasal implant. I found this extremely odd because I had never requested any type of implant, nor was I aware that one was put in. I immediately called the office and asked for an explanation and was told, "Oh it's whatever you and the doctor discussed". I had to demand that the instructions be corrected to reflect that I was having rhinoplasty without an implant in order for it to be changed...that wasn't offered by the assistant. Anyhow the day of surgery November 11, 2016 seemed to go as planned. When the surgery was complete the doctor told me that he had gotten all of the bump shaved down. Right before I went in for surgery, I specifically told Dr. Hicks that there was a hump on the top still, as well as the bump on the side. He said he didn't think so and that he just needed to do the side and it would be fine. He had warned me about all this so-called extra swelling that I would get after the revision, but that never happened. My right eye was puffy and swollen for two days and the mild bruising under the same eye healed completely in about two weeks. After the first surgery, the bruising was very bad and took almost 3 months for the grayish tones to disappear completely. I point this out because this lets me know that things were done differently this time; beside the fact that I had my nose broken the first time which caused more bruising. I took the bungled up tape out of my nose after the first day because there wasn't too much bleeding and it was only a nuisance. I immediately noticed that the stitches were at a different location than after the first surgery. Instead of being in the bottom rim, inside my nostrils, they were at the upper crease where my nostrils flare on the inside. It looked to me like some sort of imprint was under my skin that was showing up lumpy. I thought that maybe he had gone through that direction in order to shave the bump down, but then that would seem odd because it seems there would be a risk of tearing the skin to do that. Anyhow I shrugged it off as just swelling even though it was never red or bruised in that area. After almost a month now that "swelling" hasn't subsided not even a bit. The right side of my nose looks abnormally large compared to the left side. It feels like there is fat padding underneath, which I suspect to be some sort of filler. I honestly believe that Dr. Hicks did not perform any revision surgery on me, but used a filler without my permission. I can still feel the old curved bump under my skin, but it's being camouflaged by the lump of filler or whatever he put under my skin. To add to that my right profile still has a hump because there was nothing done to it during the revision. Updated on 7 Dec 2016: I'm still awake at 4a.m. writing because i'm angry as hell. I called Dr. Hicks on the after hours number at about 3:30 a.m. to demand that he tell me what he did to me. He said that I was waking him and his family up and that he had a long day. I told him that he deserved to be woken up and I texted a photo of my ugly nose to him and demanded to get a REAL Operative Report as opposed to the fake one that he handed to me in his office during my appointment earlier in the day. The Op Report was dated before I even had the surgery and falsely stated that I originally had a "large dorsal hump". Then to top it off Dr. Hicks charged me $15.00 for four, one-sided pages of reports....smh. I found out about the Op Report after contacting someone else whom I'm going to have examine my nose to find out what the hell happened. If Dr. Hicks put any type of filler in my nose without informing me then he has the lowest of moral standards and doesn't deserve to practice medicine at all. One of his patients tried to warn me, but she was one out of all the other 5 star reviews that he had online. Oh and he's good at trying to blame the patient for his mistakes. He'll tell you to do one thing , then immediately tell you to do the opposite so that way if you say you did this or that, he'll say you shouldn't have. Example: He'll say massage your nose, then said don't massage it because you might make it crooked again. He said after the first surgery that the bone could still be moved out of place if you massage it; when I stated that I wouldn't do that because I didn't want to have to go through another surgery, he said "No the bone is set you can massage it....wth. Anyway he tried to set up another appointment for me to come back, but that will NEVER happen because I was only there to get my Op Report in the first place. Updated on 7 Dec 2016: These are the before from 3/9/ 2016, after primary from 7/29/2016, and after revision from December 4 & 6, 2016. Please someone tell me if the frontal post revision photo of my nose looks anything like normal? The final frontal view is from 12/6/2016 after I saw Dr. Hicks in his office and he told me that my nose looked better than before.
I am more than ecstatic to say that I am finally getting my procedure done. I initially had my procedure scheduled 2 yrs ago, when i found out i was pregnant. Talk about luck! But now, after my beautiful son, I am less than 30 days out for my procedure! I am happy to say I am paying cash too! The office itself has been more than friendly and accommodating to get me on that table! I think they are probably just as happy as I am to finally be getting my work done. I initially was going to be financing with one of the creditors they accept and almost went through with the procedure when i found out i was pregnant! The office understood my position and even sent the money back to the creditors! How awesome right? Now when i came back and was ready to go, it was just my luck that the creditors were no longer accepting my application probably because i had just bought a brand new car. bummer! but no, only a few short months later, I got my tax money and used the money I saved up, so now I am ready to get my procedure done and not be in debt afterwards! Even better situation! I will be posting more updates coming close to D-Day, as well as some before pictures. I will be getting liposuction to the abdomen, flanks, and (just updated) the back. initially I was going to get my arms, but I realized that the most desired appearance I want for my core was more attainable if I included the back, so the doctor's office allowed me to switch my areas. Updated on 10 Mar 2016: Hello Everyone, So they say that the devil tries to steal your happiness, and this devil, I have been with for almost 10 years and it seems like he will do anything to keep my self-esteem low; reminding me that I will never look the way I want.So here's what happens. I went to my Doctor's appointment, and I'm informing the nurse that I will be getting these procedures done. She tells me "oh that sounds familiar," low and behold she got the same procedure done. I was so excited to tell him, I was on the path of telling him that it was like a sign! and then he proceeds to tell me "Oh she's got a fake butt."Being insecure, how would any of you others feel? I was so upset. Its like no matter what, he has to be the constant reminder that I am no where near perfect. It seriously kills me that I have a partner like this. Anyone else have a partner like this out there? Before (as in pre-op) when we would fight, he would come with the "blah blah blah... fat B***h" - i can already hear what it will be like after i get my procedure done.... "it doesn't matter how good you think you look, its all fake!"Ladies, your thoughts and opinions would be greatly valued.Did i overreact, or do i really have a douche bag boyfriend that I let keep me this low? Updated on 3 Apr 2016: I'm only 3 days post op and I'm so happy with my results so far. Now my doc warned me about the loose skin I would have in front from my already loose skin and the lipo done but gosh it still looks great to me!! My back area hurt a lot last night but I feel much better now. Also woke up with my face kinda swollen today but that's probably with sleeping on my tummy and face for a while Updated on 5 Apr 2016: I think my swelling is starting to show face but I'm not gonna get excited yet since results are a good month away at least
