Wow...... My eyelids had drooped, and I felt like I had more skin on my eyelids than the rest of my body. To me, I looked like I had been in the ring with Mike Tyson and/or been on a very long bender. I was very self-conscious about how my eyes looked. Then Dr. Chang did a bilateral ptosis repair/blepharoplasty. It's now been seven weeks post-surgery. I feel like have extraordinarily white whites of eye - when in reality it is because my eyes are now open! I'm still amazed at the change, which was immediately noticeable straight after the surgery. It's so nice not to feel the need to hide behind sunglasses.... * Everything from the consultation through to the surgery and post-surgery has been stellar * The communication, responsiveness, and follow through is excellent * It felt like a military operation; every question was pre-empted. I particularly liked that the written post-surgery instructions were spot on - there was nothing that I experienced that wasn't predicted and addressed. That to me is huge. * I have no recollection of the procedure. One moment, I was in the brown recliner taking the sedative, the next, I'm being picked up by a friend to go home. I only have a positive experience of Dr Chang. And I am looking forward to the next phase of 'fixing my undereye" challenges :)

I am so pleased with the level of care I received from Dr. Chang and her staff. I initially chose to have Dr. Chang perform an upper and lower blepharoplasty for three reasons: 1. She had the best reviews, with patients noting both the quality of her work and her compassion 2. I was unhappy with my hooded upper eyelids and the crepey skin under my eyes 3. I had a retinal detachment that left me with very low vision in one eye, so I wanted an oculoplastic specialist who would be best be able to protect my "good" eye. We spoke about my options, realistic expectations, and the healing process during my consultation. Dr. Chang was very honest and easy to talk to, which is rare to find in a medical professional. She listened to my questions and concerns, but most importantly I felt like I was chatting with a friend. We ultimately decided on doing an upper blepharoplasty and a lower "pinch" with a chemical peel for the lower lids, which was an in-office procedure, vs. a brow lift. Dr. Chang and her staff kept in contact with me before the procedure, providing very explicit instructions that were easy to follow. The procedure itself was very quick and pain-free. One second I was texting my sister that I had just taken my pills, and before I knew it I was being told to follow my brother out to the car to leave! I was pretty out of it for the next twelve hours or so, so don't plan on driving for quite some time if you have this procedure. Recuperation went well. I normally wear contacts because glasses hurt my head, so I just went without during the day and wore glasses to watch TV at night for two weeks. I went on a trip exactly two weeks after and there was still bruising at that time; it was three weeks before the bruising was almost all gone. I am very happy with my results. I wanted to look refreshed but not like I had work done, which I believe I achieved. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Chang!

The entire process from the intial consultation through post-surgical care was exceptional. Dr. Chang was very attentive and listened carefully to my concerns. She was very clear about the entire process and exactly what the procedure would offer me, thus my expectations were consistent with the outcome. I felt very well cared for before and after the procedure. Dr. Chang was available for any questions or concerns. Overall, it was a great experience and I am so happy with the results. Dr. Chang is not only a skilled surgeon and expert cosmetic injector, she takes great pride in her work, she LISTENS to her patients and is easily able to understand their areas of concern even if they don't quite know fully. I have seen multiple eye drs. over the past 2 years, first for cataracts, then ocular rosacea and mgd. They all had in common the need to upsell me the most expensive procedures whether I needed them or not and more important, whether it was the procedure that would work for me. Dr. Chang has quite a different approach. Once she fully understood my concerns she offered me several options, carefully explaining the pros and cons, showing me pictures, and ensuring I had the appropriate expectations for each. Due to a previous upper and lower eyelid surgery several years ago, I developed new bags under my eyes accompanied by very dark circles. Since the original surgeon only removed the center fat pad (who knew there are 3?), Dr. Chang explained that is why I now had one bag in the inner corner and one on the outer corner of my eyes with a deep hollow in between creating what I felt was a deformed and lumpy under eye. I couldn't even look in the mirror without cringing. I had decided on the surgery where she would remove the remaining fat pads and fill the hollow but I was very anxious about another surgery because of my other eye conditions. Dr. Chang offered another solution to avoid surgery and save me thousands of dollars. She said while it wouldn't be the same result, perhaps it would be acceptable enough for what I was concerned about. She injected filler in strategic places and the result was ....no not perfect, but more than acceptable for me. Most of the darkness disappeared and the area between fat pads was smoothed out so it no longer looks lumpy. I am more confident going out in public and I am so grateful to her for hearing my concerns and providing options to meet them even though it meant less money in her pocket. No upselling here!! She took great care to talk to me throughout the procedure, explaining each step and she took it, helping reduce my anxiety. Dr. Chang she is very precise, and has an artists eye. She knows what will work and what won't and is honest if she feels something won't give you the results you want. She manages expectations carefully explaining potential risks and anticipated results. I recently had a chin implant removed by Dr. Chang, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The healing process has been smooth, and the swelling has almost completely gone down.
