Is your pic from 6 days PO? You look fabulous! I am still learning, but did you do over the muscle because you had enough breast tissue to cover implants? Thank you for sharing your experience. I will follow your healing process and I wish you the best healing. If yo have any preop pics for comparison and would like to share those too that would be appreciated too.

Yes I am 1 week post op now! Yes I went over the muscle because i had good breast tissue and its better recovery wise if you can and they look and feel more natural rather than under the muscle. I strongly believe if you can do over the muscle go that way and do the High Profile Silicone Gel because it gives a more projected look as well as fullness. Gives that perky look especially if you have just mild sagging in the breasts and yes I have a few more pics I can add

Not sure how I missed your reply?! I'm still learning about all the lift, augmentation options. So is the only reason to get under the muscle for minimal breast tissue? I need to google pros and cons. I know healing/recovery is much less over the muscle, but do you know a few potential complications, pros/cons of overs verses unders? I just read your 10/15 post and you seem very informed! I can see your progress in your pics too. They look like they are starting to drop a bit and show some lower pole roundness. I'm guessing that is what they call "fluff" and softening. How were you able to escape the PS insisting on a lift, since you had some breast tissue? It seems like anyone who has breast tissue the PS insists on lift too for best result or there is concern of breast tissue hanging off implant . . . I read this in a RS consult, but can't remember if they were talking about implant being under or over in this situation or if that would matter. So much to be informed about! It can be overwhelming!

As far as lift goes Honey some PS do insist on a lift because its is more $$ not all sagging boobs need a lift.. if you have good breast tissue and mild/moderate sagging you can do a High or Ultra High profile implant and it will give the appearance of a lift it doesn't actually give woman a lift it just helps fill a void where there was fullness before.. Meaning: Take my breast I had very good amount of tissue it just was not full or perky because of breastfeeding and weight loss. It was all at the bottom of my breast... Now think about that void... breast tissue and muscle dropped hence sagging so if you place the implant at a higher profile over the muscle and allow the breast tissue to lay over the implant it fills the void and helps shape the breast tissue by creating a natural slope. PS is surgery basically places to implant in the breast making a pocket. So it seems like yes it looks like a lift when all reality is the implant over the muscle filled the void and allowed to breast tissue to fall naturally over the implant giving your breast volume again. Over the muscle implants are for woman who have good breast tissue and thicker skin and fatty tissue as well... If you have breast fed or have breast but just saggin.. The only advantage for under the muscle for some is woman with small chest, tighter skin, never breastfed, no breast tissue or very little or thin skin. Take a baseball lay it under a sheet... you can see the baseball but lay it under a nice thick comforter you have a soft round shape implant is more hidden.. As far a lift PS look for how much sagging and tissue is present.. if they are really flat and hanging very low with very little bottom pole fullness then yes a lift is best but if you have sagging and fullness at the bottom pole then using a profile implant can use that fullness at the bottom pole by covering the implant like a comforter giving it volume and projection. Implants do not lift at all the fill volume... Basically in a nut shell it allows the breast tissue to lay over the implant by filling the void left by breastfeeding, weight loss or just gravity. Hope this helps you decide... Only cons to overs is higher risk for Capsular Contracture but only 5% and Mammogram are harder with overs... thats it love...

Wow! Thank you so much! Did you learn all of this from your PS or did you do a lot of online research?! This does make sense to me. Yes, I do have a lot of breast tissue. I had it before breast feeding, got very large during breast feeding and pretty much kept all the tissue, but lost all upper pole fullness. I've never been overweight and am 5'8" 135 lbs. All of my tissue is lower pole. I also have some asymmetry, post breast feeding, with one breast being a little larger and a bit lower. I would say, from what I've seen on internet about degree of ptosis/sagging, I'm mild to moderate. I've been trying to follow RSers similar to my size who have done either BL without augmentation/implants and just BA/implants, esp if their PS recommended lift, but they chose to go with BA only. I would prefer to not have the BL scars. If they could only do BL without the vertical scar, but only the one doctor in Sugarland, TX is doing that method and it's controversial at this point. I am watching those RSers post op too though. Honestly, it looks like most have very positive outcomes, but one person did not and it's getting a lot of RS attention.

Honestly Jerp, if your breasts aren't extremely sagging as in like a few inches past the crease then your safe most women who really need a lift are those women and it does not necessarily take a big implant to make big breasts in someone who has a lot of tissue and to achieve the appearance of a lift that is where the profile implants come in they create the upper pole fullness to balance the bottom pole fullness your breast currently have to help balance the look and the projection in profile create a more round look hence the reason if a lift isnt ideal you can still have the appearance of one and yes my PS was very informative

Thanks so much and yes i cant wait till mine are completely dropped i am getting there almost all the swelling is gone and the tenderness tightness!! It did not take long at all lots of warm showers and very light massaging at night helped me but i would check with PS before doing that since every PS is different!!
