I had right breast lumpectomy and 12 lymph nodes removed and 35 radiation treatments. I developed Lymphedema in my right arm after treatment. Now I am scheduled to have breast reduction surgery on my left side to match my now smaller right breast but I have read that you can get lymphedema even if no nodes are removed. My surgeon does not feel there is a risk
I had a breast reduction 4+ years ago. I do still have neuralgia on my left side. I also have had full body lymph node swelling (rapidly increasing), but the nodes under the left armpit and another lump in my left breast has caused pain for the last few days. I'm now running a fever. Doctors say tests show nothing. Now my left aureola is suddenly turning white. I live in a small town, and other people are also being blown off if the docs don't have answers. I just don't know what to do anymore.
I was curious is there any risk to the lymph nodes when removing this tissue/fat ? I am 10 lbs over weight. The tissue is about the size of an A cup breast it bulges out about 3 inches past my axillary fold aka my armpit.
I'm worried why on my operational report (from my 7/6/17 BR) it says that my left lymph node was also sent to pathology, along with the normal left and right breast tissue. I've been reading all over the Internet and I can't find any evidence that sending a lymph node too is the norm. I don't see my surgeon until next week but I'm just very concerned now. I'm wondering if any of you smart doctors ever do this and if so, why please. Thank you SO much for reading. I'm so grateful for your time.
8 months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer on my left side & I had a surgery. Then I had a 2nd surgery to remove my lymph nodes followed by chemotherapy .On 7/2/17, I had breast reduction on my unaffected side. It has been 2weeks & still have painful large open wound, necrosis & fat drainage below my right breast where the Tzone meet. We clean the wound 4 times a day+nonstick gauze +taking antibiotic. The wound was small & it started growing larger. Any guidance is immensely appreciated.
