seeking removal of of under muscle saline implants. x 16 years. i feel stupid for not having realized that my muscle had been cut/released from my ribs during the implant initial operation. it sounds so obvious now. i'm told it needs to be reattached anda big reason for the high total cost. what do you understand about muscle repair? is it needed? how does reattachment promote health and function over the long term? A)explant only under local v B) explant +muscle repair under general. why
Implants for 4 months and then had them removed. It has been 6 months and I have animation deformity. My PS said he reattached the muscle but from his notes it looks like he just put a couple of sutures in. What are my options for muscle repair and how successful does it tend to be? Are there significant risks with muscle reattachment?
Im asking this again because no one answered my question with the detail I needed. I will ask in a different way. Why do docs feel the pec muscle does not need repaired during explant? What if it moves and strength is compromised? I have seen women report this. So being told the pec muscle heals itself doesnt seem good enough to me. Im not understanding how it will re-attachment to the connection points from which it was released.
From my understanding my implants are FULLY submuscular and my muscle wasn't fully released. I am looking at explanting and curious about muscle reattachment. Some surgeons say they can and some say the can't and it's virtually impossible to do. Is it possible? I have seen photos of explants of women who explanted without muscle reattachment and their breast is completely pulled up? Is this common?
Is it possible to reattach muscle when the explant is done under local? If a muscle reattachment is not done because PS recommends explanting under local, is it inevitable to get a pec muscle deformity? If so, why would the procedure even be done under local instead of taking care of everything and trying to prevent a deformity? If you develop the deformity, is it more of a cosmetic issue or does it have to be fixed and if so how?
I had 360 cc implants with a lift 6 mo ago. I regretting the implants and wish I had only gotten the lift. In 2 weeks, I am having explant and a revision of the lift. I have muscle animation deformity. My surgeon does not do anything to the pec muscle that was cut as part of the explant. I have read that other surgeons stitch the pec muscle back down. How necessary is it to fix the cut pectoral muscle and is it likely that I'll need another revision if the muscle is not reattached?
Implants placed under muscle 1/25/17.Left breast higher, right dropped too low.Have sharp, stabbing, throbbing pain across the middle of my breasts(not near the incision)-like gas pain/chest pain. The implants seem to be getting harder, and there is already rippling that can be seen and felt. Trouble breathing, etc. as well.Would like removal, total capsulectomy, and release of muscle from the breasts and reattach muscle to chest wall.Red line d/t ACE bandage. I have United Healthcare TY so much!
I have 20 year old breast implants that are under muscle. They were inserted via armpit. I am having submammary explant. Is this more complex because they are under muscle. Does muscle need to be cut and reattached? Is recovery time likely to be longer because they are under muscle?
BA done in 1997, saline, under the muscles, went from 36B to 36C. Explant Sept 2015. Deformity when flexing occurred since day one. In Feb 2016 100ccs fat transfer to breasts to help with scar adhesions. Unsuccessful. The capsules were left in after explant. I understood from my pre-op that the incision would be made under the breast fold but on the day of surgery the doctor changed her mind and went through my areola again. Should I have a scar revision on the areola?
