Ive been on dianette for 2 0years but I still get cystic acne. Everytime I come off dianette my acne gets much much worse so I go back on it. Im due to start accutane next month and I want to know if its better to come off dianette while I am on accutane. There is no chance I can get pregnant so I dont need it for contraception. I am concerned that even if accutane completely clears my skin the acne will just come back as soon as I stop the dianette. I am 40 in a few months.
I am 30. After everything failed to permanently cure my now mild but persistent acne (including accutane) I am considering my options for a long term treatment and management of my skin. I am scared when I read all the side effect of both birth control pills and accutane, and wondering if there is a safe option.
Hi I am on accutane and have been for 2 months. My form of birth control now is abstinence. I want to go on the birth control pill to help with my period. I will still be abstinent. I was wondering if its okay to go on the birth control pill while on accutane already. Again, I will continue to be abstinent even while on the birth control pill. Thank you
So Im from the UK and Ive never met with a acne specialist, only free NHS nurses who suggested I go on accutane. I have pitted scarring and thats my main concern. Im on the pill and its controlled my acne nicely with occasional cysts that develop into scars. Theres strong chance I have pcos (had an mri showing small sacs) and that my acne is a hormonal problem which means acne will come back after accutane. I dont want to stop treating my scars. I feel stuck.
So I decided to get back on my birth control and its been like 3 weeks since I got back on it bc I noticed that I was breaking out from the day I got off of it. If I take accutane again and give off birth control in the future will this happen again? Like will this happen every time I start/stop birth control pills/any type of birth control? Or will this second round of accutane help and prevent that from ever happening again?! Thank you.
I am an 18 year old female. Ive forever suffered from genetic and hormonal acne. Ive been on birth control, Epiduo, Spironolactone, Aczone, and more. Spironolactone helped, but am no longer on it and my acne improved more off of it. My face stayed clear (as clear as Im gonna get) for a few weeks and its starting to come back. I am starting Accutane in 2 weeks. What do you think my percentage is of Accutane keeping my face clear even after I finish my trial of it?
I am on month 3 of my Accutane treatment and its going great but I noticed I broke out really bad right before I started my treatment because I got Nexplanon. I am on 50 mg of Accutane right now and I am afraid that after my treatment plan it will come right back because of my birth control. I do not want to get it taken out after my Accutane because it is so convenient. What should I do? P.s. I had really bad acne and oily skin before the Nexplanon but the birth control made is worse.
Ive suffered from acne since I was 11, I am 28 now and have been on abx, countless creams, spiro, birth control, accutane, everything. Accutane I took when I was 21 that seems to be the only thing that ever worked. However over the past couple years my acne is coming back even while being on birth control and spiro. I really want to go on accutane again bc I cannot stand this acne anymore. Im wondering if a second course of accutane would be beneficial for me.
