"I've been meaning to send this email since I had my consultation September 9th. I would first off like to thank you for your honesty. As hard as it was to hear the truth, I think it was necessary. As much as I would like to solve my breast implant issues, I think you are 150% right in everything you said and perhaps right now is not the right time. I do need to take care of some personal/internal issues, and be 100% before having another surgery. I really appreciate the fact that you have taken my best interest into consideration, and respect your decision. Thank you very much for being straight forward with me, and for caring about me as a person, it means more than you know. I would also like to thank Vanessa for taking the time to talk with me after our consultation. She reassured me completely, and I felt ok knowing that I would not be booking a surgery, but that the door was still open. Thank you very much for putting things into perspective for me, I'm very happy I came all the way to San Diego to meet with you in person. I hope to be in touch at some point in the future, at a better time… Thank You"
This is the email I sent shortly after flying to San Diego from Toronto Canada to see Dr. Pousti in person. I have had a very rough experience - having had 3 surgeries within 8 months due to complications - and am currently in need of another (revision). I wanted to meet Dr. Pousti because based on my previous experiences I've realized that it's very important to have a surgeon who genuinely cares. Although my consultation did not result in me booking a surgery - I truly believe it's for the best - Dr. Pousti was very open and honest with me about my situation - that he can help me with my issues (double bubble and capsular contractor) - but that he sensed that there were internal issues that I needed to deal with. It was emotionally difficult yet also a relief to hear his observations - because It made me realize that he is 100% right - Breast Implant (Revision) Surgery is a major surgery - and one should be physically, mentally and emotionally at their best prior to. I left San Diego knowing that I found a surgeon who can help me - but who also genuinely cares about my well being. I will not be having surgery at the moment - but I plan on contacting Dr. Pousti in the future.
