I went to Dr Rankin as he was Precertified by my insurance to cover the surgery - my Silicone Implant had ruptured from a mammogram. Still sedated from Surgery and he tells my spouse to pay up front and then he will reimburse when insurance paid. Only $1,000 of $6,000 reimbursed. Not told this prior to surgery. Also left silicone in & caused infection of the chest wall. Had 8 months of antibiotics, unable to work. Extensive scarring & pain. Scheduled for a 3rd surgery in 2 wks since Dr Rankin's to try and remove more of the silicone that is causing problems.

Worked in the same hospital. I chose Dr Rankin as he was an in network provider that my insurance precertified the surgery. I went with a provider through my insurance in case of a complication. His nurse, Pam was fired over the incident. Still yet to be compensated.
Oh my, that sounds like quite an ordeal. Thank you for sharing your experience. Will your next surgery be with the same doctor?
