Tummy Tuck Revision: Q&A

Ask a Question

Risks of Repeat Tummy Tuck?

I am considering a second tummy tuck. Due to the extreme laxity of my stomach muscles after pregnancy, my dr was unable to fully tighten my them during the first procedure. While my shape is better, I have not achieved the flat stomach result that I want. My question is whether there are any additional risks in doing a second tummy tuck and whether it can cause the scar to be more noticeable?

The scar should not necessarily be more visible and may even be able to be lowered during your 2nd procedure... more

Repeat tummy tuck

Risks of repeat tummy tuck

The risks increase by a factor of 2 due to statistics and averages (UGH math)! Also scarring can be worse. But these are informed consent issues to discuss with the surgeon. From MIAMI DR. B
