Also it is important to note the technique(s), and the surgeon that performed them. For the tummy, pay attention to scar placement, belly button appearance, and liposculpture results. For the breasts, look for scar placement, size, and degree of droop.

Viewing before-and-after photos is one of the best ways to help you choose a plastic surgeon. Looking at photos showing the various mommy makeover procedures separately is fine, but a plastic surgeon who doesn't have a distinct category of mommy makeover before-and-after photos may not be very experienced performing the procedure. That's something you should consider when choosing a surgeon.

A "mommy makeover" is a common term to generally describe various procedures to enhance both your breasts and abdomen commonly effected by pregnancies. The goals are to restore your breasts and abdomen to their pre pregnancy appearance or even better. Breast enhancement options include breast implants only, breast lift/reduction only or some combination of the three. Abdomen improvement can be as simple as liposuction but commonly may require tummy tuck. Therefore it is best to research all of the procedure separately but also combined to get a good idea of expected outcomes for your particular situation. 

Thank you for your question.  When looking at results pertaining to your mommy makeover, you should be asking to see any of the above - breasts, tummies, and both together, if possible.  While tummy tuck and breast augmentation (or lift) do not typically have much effect on one another (even when performed together), it is indeed nice to see the "full package".  That said, before and after photos are examples of a particular surgeon's work, not necessarily carbon copies of how you as an individual patient can be expected to turn out.  Your personal result is determined by your own anatomy and appropriateness for the operation, as well as the particular surgeon's skill.  Good luck!

This is a great question! It is very important to ask your surgeon to see their portfolio of before and after pictures. You should ask to see several pictures of other patients who have had similar procedures to what you are going to have. This means you can look at the total Mommy Makeover patient pictures, as well as patients who just had 1 of the procedures. The Mommy Makeover pictures you look at will be great to show you what to expect overall from the combination of treatments. But the more pictures you can see the better, as it will give you a better idea of the surgeon's style. This will also give you the opportunity to tell your surgeon that you like a particular breast lift outcome over others, etc.

time, and I think the final result can vary significantly if it is done all at
once versus separately.As surgeons when
we are working on numerous areas at once we can tailor each component to better
fit with the others when done together, and work toward a common aesthetic
goal.If each is done separately we have
to make the area being changed still “fit” proportionally with the untreated
areas, and therefore possibly not tighten things as much or contour them the same
(ie: if we do a tummy tuck and do not address the fat in the hips or the
sagging of the breasts, it might influence the amount of fat we remove or the
amount of skin we excise trying to keep the proportions reasonable).Being able to see the before and after photos
of the whole process done together would certainly be a better representation
of what you can expect if you did them all together.Also, once you go through that process (the
surgery and all) do not be surprised if your surgeon asks to use your photos
for their photo gallery, because just like you, most people want to see what

This is because you'll probably get a better idea of your final result. In addition, it helps you determine whether the surgeon has considered all parts of patient's body and if the result looks proportionate and complements their overall body shape. It is reasonable to either look at separate pictures of people have had breast surgery or abdominal contouring, or look at combined mommy makeover before and after photos.  If your surgeon gets great results with separate operations they will be able to get the same results with a mommy makeover.
