Will a tummy tuck get rid of pregnancy stretch marks?

Fast stretching of the skin causes damage on dermis and therefore, makes the skin thinner causing stretch marks. Due to the cracks, the skin loses its elasticity and starts to become droopy. Stretch marks below the umbliicus are usually able to be excised during a tummy tuck.  Any stretch marks higher than this will now be moved to a lower position.

Hi and thank you for your question. Based on your photo, you appear to be a great candidate for an abdominoplasty. In a tummy tuck the skin between the umbilicus and public area is removed, therefore any stretch marks in that area are removed. If there are any above the level of the umbilicus they will likely remain after surgery. I recommend you consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your concerns further. Best wishes

Thank you for your question & photo.  From your photo & information given, I would most likely recommend a tummy tuck w/lipo 360 for best results.  This would repair your abdominal muscles and remove excess skin & fat.  Liposuction will address the excess fat with some skin retraction.  Abdominoplasty will address excess skin & repair of muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss.  By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well.  Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. Hi and thank you for your question. Normally the stretch marks that you have bellow the belly button to the level of the pubis will disappear, the once above the belly button will not, but will come down and you might be able to cover them at least partially with the bikini or underwear.

Tummy tucks are a great solution for stretch marks that are below the belly button.  any stretch marks above the belly button will translocated lower on the abdomen and easier to hide. 

After reviewing your photos I feel that just about all of the stretch marks below your belly button will go away and some slightly above your bellybutton. During a tummy tuck the skin will be disposed of and your original bellybutton will be brought out through new fresh skin. Your old C-section scar would typically be removed with this procedure because the new incision will be slightly below that scar.I think that a tummy tuck with some liposuction of your hip roll area will give you a very nice result and certainly a result to be excited about.

Hello, this is a very common question.  There is no guarantee that surgical TT will remove stretch marks, especially is they are extensive.  Puling the skin will flatten the lines but they will still be visible.  Most women do't actually mind as they are so thrilled to have their flat tummy back!
There are some lasers that will help to blend the skin colours so the stretch mark is less visible.

The incision  for a TT procedure usually is about an inch or two below where the typical C-section incision is. The skin removed is typically from this point up to and occasionally above the belly button and out to your hips laterally. Therefore, any stretch marks that are within this area of skin are eliminated. It sounds like in your case, the majority of your stretch marks will be gone and any that remain will be moved to low on your abdomen.
