Asymmetrical smile/thin lips. Would filler fix the asymmetry? (Photo)

Your smile is controlled by muscles which surround the mouth. If there is any weakness in these muscles, your smile may can be asymmetrical. The weakness in the muscle can be related to nerve injury. The good news is that neuro-modulators (such as Botox, Dysport or Xeomin) can easily adjust the strength of the opposing muscle to result in more symmetry.

  Hi, based upon the attached photos you have a weakness of the left marginal mandibular nerve which normally pulls down the corners of the lower lip.  This is why the right corner of the lower lip dips down farther as that nerve is functioning fully while the left side is not.  The lips are slightly below average in fullness with the upper at about 35 % of the size of the lower lip.  The ideal aesthetic proportion, as outlined in my book on facial beauty, should be 75% upper lip volume compared to the lower lip.  Dermal fillers would be able to increase the size of both lips and the proportion of the upper to lower lip but would not have any affect on the weak left sided nerve and the effect that has on the lower lip.  Hope this helps.
