Hi! This is a very important, frequently asked question.
1) Many surgeons do a lift just by tightening the skin envelope of the breasts. But skin stretches, and this approach will definitely not give you the upper fullness that you (and every other woman) want.
2) You can "rescue" a skin lift by doing a "plus/minus" operation, where you remove lower breast tissue and add an implant, so the total size of the breast does not change. This is not a bad option, but not what I recommend.
3) There is a lift that will give you long term upper fullness without implants. The breast tissue itself is moved up on the chest and the breast is sculptured with inner stitches. The skin plays no role in this lift. Variations of this kind of lift have been described by Dr. Lejour from Belgium and by Dr. Hall-Findlay from Canada.
4) You do not need an anchor scar for a breast lift. I use an anchor scar only for very big breast reductions. For a good major lift, you need a "lollypop" scar, which is more acceptable.
