If you expect your breasts to be perfectly symmetrical and to have exactly the same size and shape then don't go through with the procedure. If your goal is to get as close as possible in symmetry, size and shape then this is more realistic. Since a lift causes certain changes in the breast size and shape, these changes are different than those you will see with an augmentation. The breasts will not feel exactly the same either. Having said this, most patients are quite happy with the results of such procedures because they do look better and they are more comfortable in in bathing suits, bikinis, revealing clothing, and without clothing. Be sure to see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Tell him/her what your goals are, let him take a thorough history and do a thorough examination with various breast measurements. Then ask how close he/she thinks they can get to your goal. Get a second opinion if necessary. Ask to see pictures and/or talk with patients who have had these procedures.
