It is normal to retain water weight and be swollen after liposuction surgery.  If you have normal kidney function, your body will get rid of the extra fluid on its own as you heal.

In our instructions after liposuction, we tell our patients to stay off the scale though most can't help it as the temptation is just too great to see what you have 'lost'. The problem is that the treated areas will swell with inflammation and the products of healing and fluid will be retained until the healing process is far along. You should have an adequate fluid intake, wear your garment to control the swelling and contour, and wait things out.

What you are experiencing is the normal fluid retention that occurs after a surgery. It will gradually disappear. Some people think it is helpful to drink large amounts of water to help flush it out.
