She's really helped me get my breakouts under control

Calli is hands down my favorite esthetician. I've been seeing Calli for two years for facials, products, and general skin care recommendations. I originally met Calli at another location, but I trust her so much that I continued seeing her at Carrington. She's really helped me get my breakouts under control, and has answered every silly skin care question that I can think of. I also really...

Smack Dab in the Kisser!

Dr Liliya and her staff at Carrington Medical clinic are nothing short of amazing! She is very thorough, knowledgeable, passionate & a whole lot of fun! I have gotten a few skin treatments from the clinic and recently got filler for my lips. I went from having thin lips to naturally full looking lips. I highly recommend getting lip filler if you want lips that look natural and fantastic!

Q: Botox or Dysport for crows feet?
Answered by Dr. SlutskerJanuary 19, 2024

A: Botox and Dysport are both neurotoxin injections that are commonly used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause these wrinkles as well as other brands of neurotoxins such as Jeuveau, Xeomin, and Daxxify.
Here are some differences to consider when choosing between Botox and Dysport:
-Onset and Duration: Botox and Dysport have slightly different onset times and durations. Botox typically has a slightly slower onset (around 3-7 days) and may last for 3-4 months, while Dysport may have a faster onset (around 1-3 days) and a similar duration.
-Spread and Diffusion: there is a consensus among injectors that Dysport may have a wider spread or diffusion compared to Botox, making it potentially more suitable for treating larger areas or for patients with more diffuse fine lines.
-Unit Conversion: The units of measurement for Botox and Dysport are not equivalent, so the dosages used for each may vary. Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dosage for the patient's needs.
-Individual Response: Individual patients may respond differently to Botox and Dysport. Some patients may find one more effective or longer-lasting than the other based on their unique physiology.
-Cost: The cost of treatment may also be a consideration, as the pricing of Botox and Dysport can vary.
By the same token, check the prices of Jeuveau, Xeomin, and Daxxify (longest lasting and having unique peptide to improve skin quality).
-Specifically, for crow's feet, I would recommend doing superficial injections and may have the slighter advantage of wider spreading Dysport.
It's important to note that the choice between Botox and Dysport often depends on the patient's needs and preferences, so it's best to consult a qualified healthcare provider for personalized advice.
The patient needs to have a thorough consultation with a qualified healthcare provider who specializes in aesthetic procedures to discuss their goals, and concerns, and to determine which option is most suitable for them.

Q: Would masseter Botox or buccal fat removal be the better option to help me achieve a more symmetrical look? (photos)
Answered by Dr. SlutskerOctober 9, 2023

A: Thank you for your question!
How long ago have you noticed this assymetry?
Have you had any dental procedures?
If it’s a masseter muscle, neurotoxin will help.
If it is in fact asymmetrical fat pad, liposuction might help.
If it is an inflammation of buccal mucosa, or blocked salivary gland , needs treatment.
Or it is congenital and been there for a long time?
It would be the best advice to get a consultation and determine a cause of assymetry, and go for less invasive procedure.
All the best!

Q: Botched Kybella - how can I fix this? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. SlutskerOctober 5, 2023

A: Thank you for your question.
I see mostly unevenness under the chin due to platysmal bands.
Kybella dissolved the fatty tissue, and platysmal bands became more visible.
I would recommend a neurotoxin injection to improve the appearance of the lower face, jaw, and neck.
This non-invasive treatment with the help of neurotoxin ( AKA: Botox) is called a "Nefertiti lift" and applies the use of the micro-tox technique of injecting.
You will look gorgeous! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Consult your aesthetic provider for a full face assessment, and employ a step-by-step plan to achieve your goals.
All the best,
Dr.Liliya

Q: Would masseter Botox for teeth grinding make my face appear longer and more gaunt? (photo)
Answered by Dr. SlutskerAugust 1, 2023

A: Thank you for question.
There are actually 2 questions to address: teeth grinding and elongated face with a prominent chin.
It seems your left side of face has a more prominent masseter.
And if it so, Botox to left masseter might help for teeth grinding and to create more symmetry to your face.
If right side more bothersome, I would advise to use a sleeping mouth guard as one of the best ways to stop grinding teeth.
The elongated face: plump up your cheeks: it will create fullness and bring more balance to the face.
The prominent chin: Botox to relax the chin, and Botox along the jawline and for platysmal bands in the neck: it will bring more balance to your face.
Consult your aesthetic provider for full face assessment, employ step by step plan to achieve your goals.
All the best,
Dr.Liliya

Q: What can I do to minimize the appearance of my round jaw line? (photo)
Answered by Dr. SlutskerAugust 1, 2023

A: Thank you for your question!
You have a beautiful lower face!
Botox for masseter is a good choice, and possibly not enough of toxin was injected to get the slimming effect.
However, reducing masseter may cause more “jowls”, be aware!
I would recommend to use
- Botox: along the jaw line, superficial and address platysmal bands. We call it “Nefertiti neck”, and it will give you a better definition of jawline and cheeks will be lifted a tet.
-RF microneedling( Secret Pro) with seminsulated needles for deeper delivery of heat to reduce the fullness of jawline and jowls. It may require a few sessions ( at least 3, spaced out 4-6 weeks), evaluate the progress.
- I use Kybella (or deoxycholic acid), it dissolves the fat cells,( white fat better than brown fat, and sometimes may cause uneven smile if close to nerve branches, but recovers in a couple of week). Proceed cautiously, know your provider has experience with it!
- Dermal fillers to elongate the jawline and the chin, and elevate the cheeks: all might help to improve the jawline.
I would use all tools I have, not just stick with one.
All the best!
