Like many others I have had large breasts since I was about 12 years old. I was wearing a 36DDD bra when I was 14, but I was spilling out of it so that probably wasn't my actual size. I was a 36H when I was about 20. Now I'm 26 and have lost a little weight I'm a 34I. I have been wanting to get breast reduction surgery since I was about 17 yo and basically have been researching breast reductions since then. So I'm definitely sure I want the surgery done. This week I finally scheduled a consultation with a plastic surgeon. It's next month and I'm excited to finally start this process. :)

Today I had two consultations. They took pictures, asked about my medical history and sent for approval from insurance. I'm honestly not sure if my insurance (UHC) even covers breast reduction, but we'll see! If insurance doesn't cover it I'm willing to pay out of pocket for it.

The surgeon's office called and said my insurance (United Health Care Choice Plus) excludes breast reduction completely. So I will have to pay out of pocket. :( They are going to call me back next week with an out of pocket quote.

Pre op appointment and surgery scheduled. Pre op will be December 2nd and surgery will be December 22nd. I had to pay a $1500 non refundable deposit to secure the surgery date. The total cost will be $11,000. I plan on using care credit and savings to pay for the surgery since insurance doesn't cover it.

Before and after. 2 months post op. 36H/I to 36D. The right breast is bigger than the left, but pretty similar size. About 900 grams removed from each breast. The bra I was wearing in the before pic wasn't that supportive btw. I've been meaning to post more updates, but been busy. My name is kiannapopcorn on reddit. I have been posting more of my thoughts there.

I had breast reduction surgery in December of 2022 with Dr. Steele. Everyone at the office was friendly and made the process easy. I was able to schedule the surgery a few months after my consultation. I barely felt any pain post op. I didn't need to take any narcotics for pain.
