Are you a patient of Edward P. Melmed, M.D.?
Had 420cc Saline Under Muscle for 8 Yrs. 45 YO. Grade 3 CC in One Side. Dr Did a Lift at Time of Implant Removal. - Dallas, TX
Dr. Melmed is very different from the other doctors I have known. I really loved his approach. He told me exactly what to expect, but he was so down to earth and kind. He also has a cute sense of humor, which really helped calm my and my husband's fears. I think if you are out of town, he might be worth the trip, just because he has so much experience w implant removal compared to the average plastic surgeon. He's had time to perfect this procedure and build a great team to help him.
Found his name here from other patients and have loved him so far.
I am not going to use Dr. Melmed, I will be using Dr. German Newall of Houston Texas. I don't know how to change my Doctor info on here.
I ended up choosing Dr Melmed in Texas
He is the best - he won't do implants any more because he thinks they are so bad for women and he really makes you feel like you are beautiful with small breasts. I think he has done somewhere between 3000 - 4000 explants. He helped me get my insurance to cover part of the explant procedure as well by taking time to write a letter that they were ruptured - which turned out to be true - the left one was ruptured - so glad I got those things out of my body. I don't know how much longer he plans to work before he retires - he is 69 years old but doesn't look it at all. I'm just so thankful that I found him when I did!
I decided to go with breast explant expert Dr. Edward Melmed. Flew to Dallas, TX from Virginia. Stayed at a hotel for 4 days near the hospital. His bedside manner is genuine and rare. He performed an internal lift and a bellini lift. Ended up with more bob than I started with. Thrilled!
Dr. Melmed has done more than 3000 explantations and has found that more 80% of women with symptoms improve after explantation. He has also been part of a documentary titled, "Absolutely Safe" which is about breast implants. Total fee is $7545 (his fee, hospital, anesthesiologist) but with insurance coverage, it will be $2500 for me.
