After a dermatologist who is NOT Dr. Malouf told me, unprompted, that I should try Kybella or something for my chin (I know, right) I came home and took a bunch of selfies. Ugh! She was right...rude but right. I’ve read mixed reviews about Kybella and I don’t have time for uncertain outcomes, so I started researching other solutions and that’s how I found Dr. Malouf.
So this morning Dr. Malouf did chin/neck lipo and a mini neck lift on me. I was a little nervous, but I left his office feeling amazed by the total lack of pain during these procedures. I was warned that the numbing shots would hurt, but his nurse was fantastic, honestly I’ve had more painful injections just getting filler on a bad day. Once the numbing kicked in we we golden, off to the races. Dr. Malouf filled my chin/neck with tumnescent fluid which also contained numbing solution. Next came the liposuction. There was no pain involved whatsoever, in fact I’d say this entire procedure is really a test of one’s ability to quiet their mind and think about something pleasant. The worst part of the procedure for me was just hearing certain sounds which made me acutely aware of what was going on and some of this stuff is just gross....but so was my neck waddle, so whatever.
Dr. Malouf and his staff were great and did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable, and I was. Interestingly, after my consultation when I booked the surgery I found out Dr. Malouf is a long time friend of a girlfriend of mine. I think very highly of this lady and trust her opinion on basically everything, she had nothing but nice things to say about the doctor, not just as a doctor but as a person. That endorsement immediately raised my level of trust and so this morning I had zero second thoughts or worries.
This evening I’m sore, but I am managing with my pain Rx. I expect tomorrow I will be able to start weaning down. I’m trying to keep my head elevated to help with swelling, I’ve been napping on a recliner, using an airplane neck pillow and binging Netflix.
I will update as things progress.

I passed the 48 hour mark this morning. Soreness is minimal, I’m not even taking Tylenol at this point. No bruises so far, no drainage or bleeding. Swelling has gone down a lot. I’ve been sleeping in a recliner and keeping my head elevated as much as I can stand it, I think this has helped the swelling go down quickly. I only remove the chin strap to tend to the area where stitches are, then immediately put it back on. The chin strap is the worst part, I’m tired of wearing it but I know it’s necessary.
Now for what you really want to know: yes, I already see a big difference, even with swelling. I see definition, my neck looks longer and better already. I will post pictures when I figure out how to edit my face out a bit. ;)

It’s been four weeks. Dr. Malouf td me around eight weeks I’d start seeing my final result but I’m so thrilled with what I see so far I don’t care I’m ready to post pictures. I honestly didn’t expect this big a difference AT ALL let alone this early! Recommend and would do again 100%. This guy knows what he’s doing!
