Show More I was extremely nervous. I am terribly shy and to think I had to reveal all to a stranger and such was more than I thought I could ever do. Dr. Becker was perfectly professional. He has an amazing bed side manner. He made a terribly uncomfortable situation seem doable. His level of care goes far above standard. Many of the nurses spoke of his perfectionist manner... which is what I wanted...and absolutely received. Post care has been just as great as the entire experience. Could not ask for anyone better!

Show More November 2014 I was still itching to have something done with my boobs, so I started looking around for Drs again. I found my ultimate doctor Dr. Becker, on Real Self, right here! I went for a consultation and he basically had me at hello. Well, not really. :p But actually--the minute we shook hands--which was about 10 minutes after I arrived for my appointment--he greeted me and we chatted in a way I had never before, EVER, experienced in a doctor’s office ANYWHERE in my ENTIRE life. He had a kindness, humility, gentleness, and a pure & relaxed aura that immediately said (in no words): I'm the real deal, I care. Don't worry. I'm here. We're not in any rush. And we're going to make this right. Then after examining me from every angle with measurements on this breast, and measurements on that areola, and a look to the left and right and on top and underneath, pinching skin (gently) so he was SURE to be as accurate as possible, he finally said (in words): 'We'll get you taken care of, darling.' I want to point something out. He said 'we.' Not 'I.' 'WE.' Even though he is the ONLY one that is going to do this surgery, he said 'We.' That's a special person. A humble person. A gem. Dr. Becker said I did NOT need a(nother) lift- hooray! Due to the high placement of my areolas, and the fact that I had just bottomed out, he felt confident that we could do a breast augmentation and scar revision and achieve a fantastic result. I had my operation on January 14, 2015 and was ecstatic from the get go. They are looking beautiful now as well. Really, really, beautiful! My scars have a ways to go, but that is to be expected. Scars from 1999 on top of new scars from 2015 in a large portion of my breast crease and re-done areolas… I’m patient though. And I’m doing everything I can to effectively speed up and maximize recovery. Healthy eating, staying positive, slowly getting back to working out, scar gel and cleansing properly. Even taking some homeopathic remedies for surgical wounds and scars. I’ll post pics shortly. Here's what I have discovered about my Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Becker. And here's what I recommend for every woman to look for when choosing theirs. OFFICE VISITS & TIMELINESS: I waited approximately 10 minutes to meet with Dr. Becker the first time. Every office visit thereafter (to date there have been a total of 7) I have not waited more than 10 minutes each time to see Dr. Becker. His medical assistant Jamie greets me with a friendly smile every time. I spend at least 15-20 minutes with Dr. Becker at each appointment. I NEVER feel rushed. EVER. BEDSIDE MANNER: Kindness. Dr. Becker is a rare type of person, let alone doctor, that makes you feel like you’re the most important patient to him. He is kind, funny and above all, honest. TRANSPARENCY & OPENNESS: I have asked Dr. Becker at least 100 questions. He has always given me a straight answer. He does not beat around bushes. He doesn’t gloss over things. He doesn’t glorify anything. He told me from the get go what the outcome would most likely be—he called it a ‘Home Run’ and he was right. He makes nothing seem worse than it is, and nothing seem better than it is. He also recommended strongly that I get a mammogram. Never had one before. He said it’s a precaution so that he doesn’t find something when he goes in. I had a mammogram and an ultrasound (since I have very dense breast tissue) and it came back negative. He also told me what the implants cost and stated that he does not up-charge for his implants. I pay what he pays. Wow. Really? ACCESSIBILITY & LINE OF COMMUNICATION: Since my first visit I have maintained an open line of communication with Dr. Becker via email. Yes I said it. Email! He reads emails. He responds to emails. Daily! Of course I am not a pest. I ask questions that I forgot to in our office visit and/or just thought of. You know—you have those ‘aha’ moments all the time when you say ‘oh shoot! I forgot to ask….’ Since November he has never missed an email from me. He has replied with honesty and diligence. He has called in prescriptions (not narcotics) for me for problems I was describing via email and pictures I sent via email. I cannot tell you how IMPORTANT this is. It has given me an incredible peace of mind knowing he is there for me. Always. TALENT / GIFT FOR MAKING WOMEN LOOK & FEEL BEAUTIFUL: Prior to choosing Dr. Becker I had not seen one picture of his post op patients. However I had read reviews from thrilled patients, like me, about his work. The reviews he gets were not traditional words of praise—they were things like: ‘Dr. Becker is a G-d send. He’s nothing short of miraculous. He’s given me my life back’ and the list goes on. I knew I had to meet this Doctor. I knew his work had to be astounding. He sent me pictures of post op patients via email, at different lengths of time (several months to 1 year out). His work looked very nice. And the work he did on me was even better. (of course that’s just my opinion. ) PRE OP: I visited Dr. Becker for my last pre op before the surgery, which was about 5 days later. We tried on sizers and talked more about surgery and immediate post op concerns. I had a little bit of a cold. Strep had been going around and he suggested that I get a rapid strep test. There’s a care clinic at the bottom of his office location. He had one of his assistants grab a kit and they did a rapid strep test for me, right then and there, to confirm I did not have an infection. Again, I’m stunned. At his diligence. And care. IMMEDIATE POST OP: I woke up groggy in my sports bra (another perk of my breast augmentation package. I did not have to buy the sports bra on my own.) Went home and not a few hours later got an email from Dr. Becker. Surgery was over around 3pm. Email arrived at 9:05pm. Here my doctor had done 5 surgeries that day and he still took the time to check in. Again I’m amazed. It turns out I did not get the pain medication that I wanted—Oxycodone (Percocet). I had surgeries before and was given Percocet or Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone never worked—yet this was the Rx I received at the hospital. I emailed Dr. Becker and let him know that I needed another pain med. He had me come to the office the next morning (boyfriend drove of course) to give me the new Rx. He also checked to see that my boobies were doing OK after the first night. (In TN you cannot call in narcotics to the pharmacy, hence having to go get the written Rx in person). He gave me some ABD (sterile dressing) pads and medical tape to use when I needed to change my dressings. It was a generous starter kit. Healing continued and every other day to daily emails between Dr. Becker and me continued. Just a quick note to update him with a status or a pic... Just a quick check in to see how I am doing now…such peace of mind. POST OP: Here I am 3 weeks post op. Just saw Dr. Becker for my 3 week yesterday (Thurs 2/5/15) and he says I am doing well and looking very good. We took the steri strips off my areolas so I got to see my full breasts! He also pulled out a few stitches (most are under skin and dissolvable) –no pain. He gave me a bottle of Skin Medica Scar Treatment Gel (according to what I’ve read this is one of the best, if not best, on the market)—also part of my breast augmentation package! (I didn't have to purchase this separately.) I’ve used it once (yesterday) so far and will continue to use it along with my other homeopathic remedies. And now I’ve finally taken the time to write about this nothing-short-of-amazing human being we know as Dr. Becker. I wish all women could have a doctor like Dr. Becker. For all the reasons I have mentioned above, and every reason I might have forgotten. There are no other words I can think of at the moment. Maybe something else will come to me as the days go by…
