Consultation only: Very kind, listened to me even though I had a complex case

I only went through a consult. I wish he'd had imaging, other rhino patients to show me, and quoted me a lower price, but he listened to me, and I was grateful for it. I almost took Sophie up on his offer to email another rhinoplasty patient. In hindsight, I should have taken his comparative reactions to my complaints and issues about my nose against other surgeons I consulted with and pushed those with less "bedside manner" harder to actually focus on the problems I was describing.

While blemishes in babies are rare, in some a red-purple raised birthmark called a “hemangioma” could develop on the face, neck or scalp. Hemangioma is the most common tumor of...

Visible Birth Defect Impacts Children and Parents

A mom and dad came into my office, pushing a stroller with a baby blanket draped over the front to block their baby from view. These parents loved their child dearly, but could no longer stand the stares and comments from people at the sight of their child’s visible facial growth. After unveiling the blanket, they introduced me to their child with a large fleshy growth on the forehead. The parents called it a "doorknob." This particular facial growth or tumor is known as a...
