Best decision I have made about my health

I had a pretty bad deviated septum and could hardly breathe. I finally gathered up the courage to fix it and went to Dr. Bennett. It ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made in my life -- literally. First off, I can finally breathe! I went from 10% to 95%. No more waking up throughout the night, coughing or hacking in the morning, and constantly feeling tired. I feel amazing. Second, my nose looks great! Perfectly straight. My girlfriend is a happy camper. Lastly, the staff was incredibly supportive. I must have called them 1,000 times before and after surgery. They along with Dr Bennett himself always picked up on the first ring and proactively called ME on a regular basis to check in. There was even one time I had a minor freak out at midnight and called Dr. Bennett. He called me back 60 seconds later. I can't imagine a better result or patient experience. Thank you Dr. Bennett and team

I never though much of it as I got older and didnt realize how much my airway was constricted until seeing a catscan of my nose. I am pretty active and kept putting off a check up and am really glad I finally saw someone.

I am so much happier and live a better quality of life thanks to dr.bennett!!! - New York, NY

About 3 years ago, I suffered an injury to my nose. I broke my nose and discovered I had a severe deviated septum. It was to the point where I could only breathe and smell out of one nostril. It was very uncomfortable and I started to have bad snoring problems. Also, the injury caused the shape of my nose to change and become somewhat crooked. After about 1 year of having the deviated septum, I decided to go visit an ENT specialist that my primary care physician recommended. After meeting that specialist I went ahead with the sinus procedure. It took about 2 weeks to recover. I was very unhappy with the way the surgery came out because it only helped me breathe somewhat better. My deviated septum was not fixed and my nose was still crooked. About a year ago I shared this story with a friend and she told me about Dr. Bennett. At first I was skeptical because I already underwent a surgery for my nose. I went ahead and made an appointment. First the office was conveniently located in midtown east 2 blocks from the train. I walked into the office and I was impressed with the modern décor. The receptionist was very welcoming and warm. I saw Dr. Bennett right on time for my appointment. I could tell from the beginning of our conversation he was going to be a doctor who’s help I wanted. He took the time out to listen to all of my concerns and the stories on how my deviated septum occurred as well as my horrible sinus surgery experience. From there he took the time out to explain what went wrong with the first surgery and also what he would be able to do to help. He was very knowledgeable and what I liked most was he explained thing in a way that I understood. Also, his office manager was very helpful with my insurance and billing. They collected all the information they needed from me the first day and made all the appropriate calls to my insurance carrier to learn about my coverage and cost. I went through with the surgery and I was home a couple of hours after the surgery. He set multiple weekly follow-ups to track the progress of my healing process. He would call me while I was recovering to check on me and see how the pain is and if there is anything he can do to help. I really liked the fact of how caring he was. This is the REAL DEAL! I recovered in about 7-10 days and went back to all my normal daily routines. I immediately felt a difference in the quality of my life. I started to breather so much better, gained a better sense of smell and the appearance of my nose was fixed! Not only was the septum realigned back in placed but the noticeable injury on the outside of my nose was gone! I have no scars and I do not snore anymore!!! I could not be any happier than I am today and it is all thanks to how great and compassionate of a person Dr. Bennett is! I would definitely recommend him to anyone experiencing nose or sinus issues. You will not regret it!

Dr. Bennett is As Kind and Compassionate As They Get! - New York, NY

Before meeting Dr. Bennett, I had pretty much given up on ever breathing easily again. My sinuses had plagued me for years and I had visited 3 separate ENTs which led to nothing but misdiagnoses, embarrassment and added expenses. I saw Dr. Bennett as a last resort, after a close friend recommended him. I was stunned by how differently he treated me. I was new to New York at the time, and he welcomed me, such a surprise in the midst of some rather brash encounters I had from other residents. Aside from being an overall likable and understanding doctor, he truly seemed to empathize with my sinus troubles. I felt like family when I was in the office. Everyone was so accommodating and just plain nice. Not to mention speedy - Dr. Bennett explained what needed done in a way that I could understand without feeling foolish for my lack of medical knowledge and had me on the fast track to feeling as if I had a brand new fully-functional nose! Three months later and I am still in disbelief at how easy and painless Dr. Bennett made everything - from the first consultation to my last post-operative appointment....I actually looked FORWARD to my appointments, something I was never able to say before! So in case you're skipping to the end of this review ---- Dr. Bennett and his team are a refreshing breath of fresh air in the often shady and rude area of ENT doctors and sinus surgeons. Thanks, Dr. Bennett and staff, I am blessed to have met, and been treated by you!

Rhinoplasty NYC: A Good First Experience

As stated above, I recently was in a bad car accident and needed to get it addressed for a few reasons. For one, I did not want it growing back irregularly. Also, I felt very self-conscience about it.

Didn't Work for Me, but He's a Good Guy I Think.

He's a decent guy and I believe he did the best he could, but the procedure to correct my breathing didn't work, and I will say he seemed a lot more confident beforehand than afterward. Also why did the post-op materials his office gave me recommend using petroleum jelly if, as he later told me, "it's toxic." Maybe I'm nitpicking but come on. Still, I don't doubt that he's a good surgeon.

Can’t breathe out of left nostril - Nose looks worse

This surgery is one of my biggest regrets. I had a septorhinoplasty about a year and a half ago and my nose is collapsed to one side. I can’t breathe out of my left nostril and my nose looks worse than it did before — now crooked when I was just fixing a minor issue I had with it. My quality of life is frankly much worse. His staff is nice and professional but the surgery left me with awful results that I can’t afford to fix.

Biggest Regret of My Life

Trusting Garrett Bennett and Moustafa Mourad for surgery has been the greatest regret of my life.I consulted with Dr. Bennett in person multiple times over the course of a year before scheduling surgery to fix a common and relatively minor functional issue. I was adamant about what my goals and intentions for the surgery were, but the operation that was performed was way beyond anything we ever discussed. In addition, Dr. Mourad's role in the surgery was much more extensive than I understood it would be. The results of my surgery left me with a severely disfigured nose, constant discomfort, and significantly worse breathing troubles. During my post-op visits, neither surgeon would admit anything was wrong, despite the fact that it was obvious to anyone with eyes that there were serious problems with the outcome. Dr. Mourad seemed way out of his depth and unsure of what went wrong, while Dr. Bennett came across as intentionally deceptive during these post-op meetings. Unable to get a clear answer from Bennett or Mourad, I investigated on my own and was shocked to discover, after the fact, the extent of the operation the two performed. I spent the following year doing constant research and flying across the country to try to find an expert surgeon to repair the damage done by Bennett and Mourad. Ultimately, I had to spend a significant amount of money out-of-pocket and undergo a second extensive, painful surgery with another surgeon only one year (the minimum amount of time necessary to wait) after my surgery with Bennett and Mourad. My breathing and appearance have improved somewhat, but neither will ever be how they were before the surgery with B & M. According to the operative notes from the second surgeon, he discovered my nose was encased in scar tissue, the L-strut (portion of the septum that provides crucial support to the nose) had been transected, and significant portions of my lower lateral cartilages had been transected or removed. I also had internal and external nasal valve collapse. Bennett and Mourad both seemed confidant before surgery, and I trusted the handful of positive reviews I saw online. This was a serious mistake. I would advise anyone considering surgery, no matter how minor, to do research on your own, get multiple opinions, and really consider the necessity of the surgery. Things can and do go terribly wrong, and you are the one that has to live with the results for the rest of your life.
