In addition to the gummy smile you have a very narrow V shaped Maxilla. This also causes Deep Nalas Labial grooves, the indentations from nose to the upper lip. This occurs because there is insufficient hard tissues to support your facial tissues. I would suggest considering Epigenetic Orthopedics to expand your maxilla, this would allow you to create a full wide smile that would also reduce gummy smile and support facial tissues. Do you also have any TMJoint issues? Headaches? They are more common in narrow V shaped arches.

The DNA Appliance can expand your arches. The MRNA is specifically designed to oepn the airway and treat sleep apnea. If there are no airway issues the DNA Appliance is an excellent option. Obviously, more information is required. I suggest visiting a second dentist who utilizes the DNA Appliance.

It is possible to correct the underlying issues with Epigenetic Orthopedics which can also be helpful for snoring, airway issues, headaches, migraines or TMJ Disorders. They are larger appliances that need to be worn for 14-16 hours/day. A neuromuscular orthotic might first.be the best first approach if there are any pain, headache, migraine or TMD issues

I suggest you investigate treatment with an ICCMO Dentist who utilizes neuromusculat techniques to understand underlying issues.

You have a narrow maxilla and mandible which reshaping the teeth will not address. You can reshape lower teeth and do cosmetic bonding on the upper teeth. It appears you have a traumatic occlusion. dou you get headaches or migraines? Jaw clicking? You seem to be a perfect candidate for a DNA Appliance and Epigenetic Orthopedics. Maxillary and mandibular expansion would ideally be done before cosmetics but if there is a rush you could do a quck reshping/ bonding for a quick improvement.

It looks like you have chronic inflamation around the gingival margins. You need to look at a relaxed natural smile to really understand how the lips and soft tissues interact with veneers. If your only issue is the space a retainer could close the space. Do you hit the front teeth first when you close because that can cause anterior spaces. I feel you may not like the opaqueness of the teeth. Ideally, maxillary expansion would have been done prior to the cosmetics, but if not done I would have built the bicuspids out to create a 10 tooth smile. You did 10 teeth but till have a six tooth smile.

In general, when veneers are too white it is because it is specifically what patients requested. Most patient think whiter is better but ideally you want people to think what a great smile, not wow those are really white. Subtle enhancement of the smile is ideal. Color is a combination of Hue, Chroma and Value or brightness. Hue is actual color but brightness is how white. If you have Blue paint and add white paint you increase Value and decrease Chroma or color saturation. The Opacity of the material used is also a factor. If there was dark staining of your original teeth a higher opacity material is used to block it out. When doing Veneers the Diagnostic Wax up is critically important in creating your smile. This allows you to preview shape and how your lip lies over veneers prior to actually making veneers. Fees for veneers vary greatly, Diagnostic Wax ups add to costs. Lab bills for having veneers mad can vary from around $50 to several hundred dollars. There are many different materials veneers are made from. Veneers are much like art, and the artists are the Dental Lab and the dentist.

.The veneers are not the problem, your narrow maxilla is. Ideally with a narrow maxilla you do 4 teeth, 8m teeth or 10 teeth to create a better smile and fill posterior buccal corridors. Expansion with a DNA Appliance can grow you a full wide smile.

A smile picture is best to determine smile line. Adding bicuspids can actually improve smile by adding bulk and help eliminating Dark Buccal Corridors. ! would probably suggest doing just the front 4 without more information. You have a very narrow maxilla and if you have jaw problems, headaches, migraines or snoring I suggest you look into DNA or MRNA Appliances. These could produce a fulll wide smile.

TMJ and Dental Results that Changed My Life!

Terrific results. Did cosmetic veneers on the upper teeth years ago. Had TMJ issues with jaw, bite, headaches and alignment. Wore a custom designed and built orthotic which changed my life, eliminating my TMJ issues as well as opening up my sinuses after a lifetime of congestion. Finally moved forward after years with the orthotic device (like a retainer) and had my lowers done. Now, no more orthotic, no more headaches, no more TMJ. Can't thank this doctor enough!

I Would Wish to Say This is a Denture Not Dental Crown. Flutist Needs to Keep Playing and It Works! - Gurnee, IL

I am so pleased with my Dentist, he kept me playing, improved my bite and I am so happy with how I look. Other dentists/denturists really ruined how my face appeared and the wrong dentures can add years and years. I know. I am 56 and looked 65 in the old dentures and these I look great and they are pretty. Thanks Doc for helping me so very much. I had a dental facelift! Thanks again. Go to Delaney

48 Year Old Man, Jaw Alignment & TMJ Problems for Years - Highland Park, IL

Had horrible sharp pain in my jaw when I bit down.. very scary. Bite was misaligned, jaw and teeth position was off. Conventional dental solution = shatter your jaw, wire you up for 6 months & you eat through a straw, let rebuild the bones anew. Instead, Dr. Ira used a plastic retainer-like appliance to quite literally FIX my bite, jaw and face! Absolutely Amazing Results.
