I decided to do lip implants while I was under general anesthesia for my 2nd breast augmentation. I made the decision on Friday the 24th before Monday the 27th surgery. There was some concern on getting the Perma Lip in on time. Dr. Kirbo was willing to have them sent overnight to his personal residence. Going above and beyond for his patients! As for the surgeries, both were a breeze. The 2nd BA is SO much easier - no pain or discomfort at all. Today is Tuesday and I feel I could go back to work had I not done the lip implants. I am having only slight discomfort and swelling with the lip implants. The Vicodin that was prescribed is enough to ease any discomfort. I would describe it as "dull achy" pain but way easier than I anticipated and I am usually very sensitive to pain. I am happy to answer any questions or correspond via personal email. If you are considering lip implants, I say get a reputable surgeon you trust and go for it!

Day 3 is the worst so far. Lips are swollen, bruised, hard and tight. The corners where the stitches are look "mushy" and kinda gross. I've been putting Neosporin all over my lips since Day 1 which the nurse told me was fine, but maybe I'll lay off. I iced my lips twice today. Hoping tomorrow will be better. Very little pain though, overall. Still way easier than I anticipated. I would not count on going to work on Day 3.

My top lip was very thin. Forever using lip liner to enhance my lips.

Lips are a little numb and the stitches on the left side have fallen out or dissolved. I can open my mouth a little wider and bruising is minimal. Very pleased with the results so far.

I had a horrible experience over the weekend (Day 6) because I took too many of the prescribed Hydrocodone. I think this is Vicodin. Pain pills cause terrible constipation and hard stool. If you've ever experienced this you know what I'm talking about. Never again!!!! Just a word of caution...try to take over the counter pain medication instead of the prescribed if you can handle it. I could have been fine with OTC as the pain was really not that bad.

Day 8 is much better all around. Slightly swollen, minimal bruising (still visible though) and I can open my mouth all the way. Still some internal healing where stitches remain on one side. I think that is where he inserted the larger (5mm) into my top lip. A couple of my friends asked if I got my "lips done." But they had never even heard of actual implants and assumed it was filler. Not sure if my employees notice, but they would never comment. I went on a first date last night and felt pretty comfortable (a little concerned about visible bruising). I ducked out when he tried to kiss me but played coy as if no kissing on the first date. ????

Saw Dr. Kirbo again this morning. All is well with the healing. He did say that he had some trouble getting the top implant in due to a tear I had in my lip. I had no clue I had any internal damage, but I did notice a slight cut on my top lip that week. I can't even remember what I did to damage my lip. But that explains why the one side looks worse than the other. There are some extra skin nodules on that side but he said massage the area gently and it would go away. Only issues are that I can't feel my lips as much as I used to, so never sure if I have food on my mouth! Also, I can't rub my lips together (as in rubbing them together after applying Chapstick). I am not sure if these things will get better over time, but Il try to update in a month or so! Overall, still very pleased with the results.

Hi - it is now a year and 4 months since my procedure, and I’m still extremely satisfied with the results. At first I thought I could have gone 1 size larger in my top lip, but my lips look very natural, so maybe they are perfect as they are. I have had no issues related to this procedure. My lips feel normal again and all sensation and functionality has returned. Of course, I can still feel the implant with my fingers if I try. I had one friend ask if I had gotten Botox or something done on my eyes (I had not). So, I think people noticed that something was different, but they weren’t sure what, which is perfect, in my opinion! I think I look a bit softer and younger, possibly. If you’d like to ask more questions or would like to see my full face, please message me your email address. ????. This procedure is super easy and I loved the results! Please note, my smile is naturally a little crooked. ????
