Rhinoplasty on April 2025

Dr. Ortegas was great. He explained everything in details. I did my Rhinoplasty with him and loved my results. I recommend him. He even followed up and was very informative. The staff was also helpful.

Dr. Ortega is the GOAT

I underwent a tummy tuck w/Dr. Ortega on 2/25. I am being extremely honest Dr. Ortega is wonderful, he is empathetic, understanding and answers all of your questions the morning of your procedure. He explained to me why he was doing a full tummy tuck as opposed to a mild tummy tuck and he took his time with explanation; he does not rush. He also thoroughly reviewed my labs & discussed them with me. I was extremely nervous the morning of surgery, but I trusted Dr. Ortega and I do not regret anything. When I say he SNATCHED me he SNATCHED me. The recovery is not easy, but it is not the worst thing in the world. If you follow Dr. Ortega's post-surgery instructions and trust the process you will be happy with your results. I am two months post-op, and I am wearing a XXXS garment. I started with an XL garment. I do not regret trusting Dr Ortega and if I had to do it again, I would choose Dr. Ortega again. TRUST your Doctor and TRUST the PROCESS. I have had Lipo/BBL two years ago and now the tummy tuck. I am DEFINATELY HAPPY!!

Mommy Makeover

Highly recommend them to anyone considering a plastic surgery

After enduring the challenges of obesity and undergoing bariatric surgery, I embarked on a lengthy quest to enhance my well-being and physique. Following the birth of my second child, I ultimately made the choice to have a Mommy Makeover (MMO) at Spectrum Aesthetics, a decision for which I am immensely thankful. Let me emphasize by saying that Dr. Mel Ortega is a true professional in every sense of the word. Dr. Ortega is a straight shooter, honest, caring & an artist in his field. His knowledge and experience in the field of cosmetic surgery is evident, and I was immediately put at ease by his calm and confident demeanor. During my consultation, he patiently listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions in detail. He took the time to explain the procedures to me in both English and Spanish, making sure I fully understood what to expect. He introduced me to the Anesthesiologist and their team to go over some medical questions to clear me before having my procedures. This level of care and attention to detail is truly commendable and something that sets him apart from other physicians. Since my recent cosmetic procedure, I have been already receiving numerous compliments on the remarkable outcome. My self-esteem has significantly increased, and I feel rejuvenated and vibrant. I cannot praise the team at Spectrum Aesthetics enough. Their exceptional service, from the user-friendly digital app to the thoughtful follow-up calls, has truly exceeded my expectations. The convenience of using the app and emailing for communication has greatly streamlined the process and made it more efficient. Being able to easily connect with the team and access important details about my procedure, as well as provide necessary information, made preparing for my surgery a breeze. However, I want to highlight a post-op mishap that I experienced, which had nothing to do with my actual procedure. As a single parent with two children, including a four-year-old, I faced some challenges and difficulties. As a patient, it is CRUCIAL to diligently adhere to post-operative care instructions and prioritize self-care after a significant surgery. Thankfully, the staff at Spectrum Aesthetics provided unwavering support throughout my recovery process. The follow-up calls from the professional team at Spectrum Aesthetics truly showed their dedication to their patients. I was so impressed that they even called me on a national Holiday which I assumed the office would have been closed. They checked in on me regularly and made sure I was comfortable and healing properly. It was reassuring to know that I had a team of experts supporting me throughout my recovery, their support was invaluable. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a plastic surgery procedure, because their commitment to patient care is unmatched. I am incredibly grateful for their care and attention during this difficult time. It truly made a difference in my recovery and overall experience. I cannot thank the team at Spectrum Aesthetics enough for going above and beyond to ensure my well-being and recovery. Updated on 5 Jan 2024: These are some pictures of how I looked before my MMO and after at just 3 months post op. I had my surgery in October of 2023. It is going to take a year to fully recover and for the swelling to go down but I am happy with my results. Updated on 11 Jan 2024: These are some Before and at my 3 month Post op After pics. I'm still healing. My healing process is taking longer than most due to experiencing a wound dehiscence on my 3rd week Post op and traveling back to my state. Updated on 8 Feb 2024: For some reason I'm unable to post a review for Spectrum Aesthetics so I would like to continue making emphasis by writing their name as my title. Lastly, having worked in the medical field has given me the full confidence to write about how thorough this place does business. Follow through, ask questions to clarify any doubts and you'll see great results.

Finally my turn!

Hi Ladies! I've been on RealSelf for 15 years! After 3 babies, and years of waiting. It. Is. My. Turn! I've looked at Dr.Ortega's work over these years. I've seen countless videos, reviews and journeys. And I am definitely ready. My surgery day is November 2nd. I ordered the IV therapy package as well. I will update here after surgery with before and after pics and video! Finally!!! Updated on 1 Nov 2023: I’ve added my before photos here. Pre-op went surprisingly well. Spectrum may have improved. Over the years the wait time was a huge issue. I got in within 30 minutes of arrival. Pre-op was completed by a nurse. The process included a finger prick for Covid testing I believe and… (ha! spectrum called while I was writing this. My surgery time is 8:00am) … urine test. You also get weight, height, and blood pressure and you’re done. First time meeting Dr Ortega will be the day of surgery! I did have to wait one hour after pre-op for my IV therapy. But during that wait I chatted with the girls they. They are so sweet. Made the wait worth while. I purchased 2 IV therapy sessions - $250. One is administered the day before surgery. The second is administered the day after surgery. They help speed up recovery and passing effects of anesthesia. I feel I can handle lymphatic massages myself or show my husband what to do. Anyhoo… I’ll update you all after surgery! Updated on 9 Nov 2023: I’m 7 days post op today and oh what a journey it has been. I went to my post day one appointment and almost fainted. Sitting up in the chair too long paired with dehydration caused it. The nurse laid me back and helped me remove my hoodie (bc I had broken into a sweat) an gave me an additional iv fluid with my iv recovery fluid. I recovered but then had to walk and use the bathroom myself and almost passed out again. Spectrum staff don’t really help you. They are desensitized to the urgency. At one day post op. Caregivers should be allowed in or all nurses should wheel patients around. The following morning hubs had to rush me to the hospital. Dr Ortega is registered with Aventura, so we went there. I had to get 2 blood transfusions and stay for 2 days. Dr Ortega was incredibly attentive. He came to visit me and called 3 different times while I was in the hospital. He met with the ICU doctors to go over my cat scan and detail how much blood I lost during surgery. According to him I only lost 200 ml in the OR. He suspects the postop blood loss caused the issue. I’ve now been home 2 days and I feel amazing. I’m raising my hemoglobin back to a healthy range and staying on top of my meds. I’ll be going to my next postop with Dr Ortega on Tuesday. Updated on 26 Nov 2023: Currently working on healing my scars and avoiding infection. I’m taking antibiotics, vitamin c, multi vitamin, probiotics and collagen peptides to aide in wound healing. I’ll update after more time passes. Updated on 7 Dec 2023: Pic update. 5 weeks PO. Belly button is healing well. Still a longish way to go. I’m enjoying the journey. There forcing 200 characters to post this pic update. Sooooo here I am wasting space. 5 weeks PO. Belly button is healing well. Still a longish way to go. I’m enjoying the journey. Updated on 19 Dec 2023: Healing well! Trying on my daughters shirt just to see what’s possible. Almost 7 weeks post op! Meeting 200 character minimum… Healing well! Trying on my daughters shirt just to see what’s possible. Almost 7 weeks post op! Updated on 16 Feb 2024: I'm 3.5 months post op. I feel amazing. This new body is fun lol. I was extremely diligent with belly button training and scar treatment. I will continue belly button training until 6 mo post op. I use an ear plug and marble and silicone tape and it has worked wonders. My scar needed extreme tlc. I used hydrocolloid bandages with my surgeons approval. And now I will continue using silicone tape for up to 1 year post op. Im expanding my new wardrobe at lightning speed.

Is It normal to be scared before getting a mommy make over. Im starting to panic and im not sure if i should continue! I am a 39 year old mother of 2 children 6 and 14 years of age. At times i think to myself what if I don't make it thru surgery... But this has been something Ive been wanting to do since i had my my kids and got BBL done instead of the surgery I should've gotten first . I set up my appointment for surgery for September 28, 2023 thats literally 1 month a week away. As the days get closer I feel so unprepared I was so excited but now it just seems sureal. I just pray that I make it through. I will let you make sure to post photos and journey as it approaches. Has anyone had mommy makeover surgery and bbl and what was there journey like. Any tips and or advice will be appreciated. Been doing a lot of research but didn't come across many mommy makeover seems like some split there surgeries now that I think about it maybe would've been a better decision for me but Im just keeping my faith and praying that I have a safe and speedy recovery so I can come back home to my family who I love so much. Friend of mine refereed me to Mel T. Ortega I know he is going to do great and he is a good guy. He did an amazing job with my friend Maria asking the same for me. I keep you guys posted. Rated 4 because I haven't gotten surgery yet until September 28, 2023 coming soon. Updated on 6 Sep 2023: 23 days before mommy makeover. Words can begin to tell you how excited I am for this upcoming surgery. I have wanted this surgery for quite somet ime but was very scared and put it on hold after having kids. Now that I completely tied my tubes lost some weight and finish having kids I figure what better time to have surgery then now. Just praying for a speedy and safe recovery. Been preparing for surgery and taking it one day at a time. Just counting the days down I will post pics once I have had my surgery. Wish me luck everyone and I will stay in touch. Updated on 24 Oct 2023: My surgery was successful. I’m beyond grateful with my results. He did an awesome job. Recovery have been smooth. My recovery was amazing up and around the next day and I never gave it any thought again.” “Thanks Dr. Ortega for being a great doctor who just tells it like it is. Your honesty is appreciated!” If I can do it all over again I have no question this doctor was the best decision. Yes it wasn’t easy I had pain but the pain is all worth it. I’m so grateful I did my research and I met him in person he truly changed my life.I am so happy I’m still recovering it’s only been one month but I am healing well and I have a follow up appointment for tomorrow in Miami. Just taking it one day at a time. Just wanted to share my journey but still on the journey will keep you all updated. For those who are scared don’t be. We only live once and for me this was by far the best decision for me. Go for it. Dr Ortega was the best hands down thank you so much. I will see him again in the future. Thinking about getting more Lipo done. Updated on 25 Oct 2023: I’m only one month in two days but I can’t be happier. I had some minor hiccups but nothing serious. I have very sensitive skin so I did catch a rash but it goes away and my belly button was leaking but nothing serious i just put some antibiotics ointment. Will keep taking photos until I reach the 1 year mark. Wish me luck! Updated on 27 Nov 2023: I had a breast augmentation with dr Mel Ortega he definitely did an awesome job. Im still recovering and yes its been an emotional roller coaster. Sometimes I'm happy and sometimes I'm regretful but when I look at the photo I' can't think why would I be mad. I have the volume and fullness a lot of women would love to have so now I just say how thankful I am to have made it out and also have great results so when you ask me do I regret it my answer is no because I think they look great and it definitely gave me a boost of confidence.

My tummy tuck expectations were met beyond my imagination

Dr. Ortega is by far the GOAT! I’ve researched and wanted a tummy tuck for many years but never thought it was possible because of many reasons including FEAR! After lots of research and comparisons I was always amazed and in disbelief by Dr. Ortega’s magic ????… Finally, decided I didn’t want regrets later on in life as to what ifs…so I entrusted my instincts. I scheduled my tummy tuck with Dr. Ortega. Day of surgery, I met Dr. Ortega. He is a VERY experienced Doctor with a great personality…I could literally talk with him for hours…charming. I felt immediate confidence and relief knowing that I made the BEST choice. Immediately after surgery I could see my tummy tuck expectations were met beyond my imagination. 6 weeks after my procedure I was still swollen but; my incision was healing well some areas barely visible. My belly button is just beautiful…”A WORK OF ART” I followed all instructions and the results speak louder than words. I recommend Dr. Ortega without any reservations. The entire process was all worth it! No regrets! Thank you Dr. Ortega and many blessings!

Less Than 90 Days for Tummy Tuck

So far so good with Spectrum. I am scheduled for a Tummy Tuck April 20 which is less than 90 days away. I am scared because of shows like BOTCHED but I have been reading reviews of Dr. Ortega and they aren’t bad. I have faith that everything is going to go ok. Updated on 1 Mar 2022: It’s less than 60 days away and my nerves are one 1000. My experience with Spectrum so far has been iffy. My client coordinator was Tina she was ok at getting back to me with in 3-4 days. But my concierge Gabriel is not as effective. I was given a list of things I need including 10-15 Lymphatic massages which I asked if they knew or could refer me to someone and the answer was NO! So now I’m on a hunt to find a masseuse to do the massages when I get to Miami. It feels as if Spectrum is overloaded with cases. This is not a good start. Updated on 4 Apr 2022: My anxiety has been on 1000. I have submitted all my labs and test and I am actually 16 days away from my scheduled surgery and yet I still don’t have the clearance from my surgeon. I sent a email last week and they said he is processing other clearances and he will get to mine as soon as he can. This journey is not looking good. Updated on 19 Apr 2022: So I’m here in Miami. I am scared to death. My first impressions of Spectrum as so so. The building needs a lot of work. The staff are pleasant but not as happy and hyped as on IG. I had my first IV treatment. The IV hurt cause they put it in your hand and she said my veins roll smh. When I went to the 2nd floor it was a bunch of women in robes sitting around I am guessing waiting for their surgery. It’s a really morbid feeling. Lord watch over me please. Folks pray for me. Updated on 22 Apr 2022: My surgery was done two days ago and boy can I tell you the pain the first day is something serious. I arrived at Spectrum at 10:45 cause my surgery was supposed to be at 11:00 . Well needless to say I didn’t get on the table until 2pm. Once again Dr. Ortega is amazing but the staff needs more trading in customer service and hospitality. As soon as I woke up they were scooting me out the door. Due to the fact I have MD insurance I had to come out the pocket for my meds. I also didn’t know I had to take a shot everyday for the next 14 days. My tummy is so swollen. I’m starting to thing majority of the pic I seen on IG have been edited and contoured. But I do have less stretch marks and I can’t wait until the swelling goes down Updated on 28 Apr 2022: Let me start off by saying I love my results so far. I am one week post op and I am still swelling but I have a flat tummy now and hopefully when the swelling goes down it will look great. Now the bad side to the process. The staff of spectrum is not what you would expect on IG. They play around too much, they are very loud, and schedule you and make you wait. I was scheduled for my surgery at 11 and the doctor didn’t come in until about 1. Then after my surgery they rushed me out the door so fast it was crazy. For my last post op appointment a week later I waited another hour before I was seen. Needless to say I won’t be coming back to Spectrum unless Dr.Ortega switched practices to a more professional place. Like they say your pay for what you get. Smh. Updated on 17 Jun 2022: So I should have listened to the reviews. Spectrum is the worst practice ever. Their post op procedures for out of state patients is horrible. Trying to get the Post Op department on the phone is a nightmare. Apparently the sutures that DR. Ortega used my body is rejecting causing my incisions to open. I had two tunneling wounds in the middle that has healed but now I have a open wound on my side that the sutures are sticking out. I sent the post op department an email and they suggested I come all the way back down to Miami for the doctor to look at it. They said they don’t do virtual appointments which is crazy to me. Now I am trying to get them the send me a date to confirm and they won’t answer my emails. I wish I had never went to spectrum.
