QUESTIONS ANSWERED

It sounds like you've had a rough time with multiple procedures.  However, with surgery only 5 days ago, it's really difficult to tell how things will turn out for sure.  It may be that changing out for a smaller implant flattened things out a little bit, but it's important right now to let things heal before doing anything else.  It is possible that revising the breast lift portion may help with the overall shape, but I would wait for healing/settling to occur.

So there are different stages of healing and it sometimes depends on the extent of the breast lift,
but for the most part, my patients are able to return to work in about 5-7 days (if they have a non-strenuous desk job), and are usually able to have unrestricted activity by about a month.  Breast settling and final results may take several months, and scars can take up to two years to fade.
Hope that helps!

Repairing the diastasis, or separation of the abdominal muscles is routinely performed during my tummy tuck procedures.

It is certainly possible to do those procedures together, but it will be at the discretion of your surgeon after a complete evaluation.

How long should one wait to take Advil?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
It is a question you should ask your surgeon, who has all of your medical information, but for the most part, advil or ibuprofen is used routinely by many doctors in the postoperative period

The results are long lasting, but the amount of fat that initially takes is less predictable.
Also, the procedure is not the best option in someone who wants a large size increase.

When can you say the fat survived?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hello, and thanks for your question.
Looking at strictly results, what I've noticed in my practice is that the breast size seems to stabilize between 6 and 8 weeks after fat transfer.  I believe the actual fat survival or demise is going to happen pretty quicky.  However, the process is going to cause swelling in the tissues in general, which will need that time period to go away before you can tell where you will end up.
Also, fluctuations in weight will cause the breasts to change size more dramatically than ever before too.

Hello, and thanks for your question.
It is normal to still be swollen from the procedure.
What I notice in my patients, is that the swelling STARTS to go away at about six weeks, and the final results can take up to 6 months.  Swelling is the body's response to the surgery, and is perfectly normal.

There are definitely some options for skin tightening in these areas, but I would wait until the lipo has reached it's final result, at about 6 months.  You may find that some of this still improves on its own.

I wouldn't start worrying about this yet. Your breasts had a tuberous deformity before surgery, and this causes your fold below your breasts to be higher and more constricted before surgery.  There is a good chance that as those implants stretch the tissues and relax that fold, that all will be well.  This may take 6 months to a year, but generally improves with time.

The surgery went well - very happy with the results after 2 weeks

Dr. Kirk and her team were amazing right from the beginning. During the consultation, Dr. Kirk made me feel comfortable and listened to my goals for my breast augmentation. The surgery went well, and after two post opp I am very happy with the results. I should have done this years ago. Her nurses have answered every question I have asked, and they encourage you to call if you have any more questions. Overall, I had a great experience with them.

It’s amazing how fast the body heals!

I’m 1 day post op, and it’s amazing how fast the body heals! I had lipo from my flanks, abdomen, knee (prone), and legs. So far I’m very happy with the results, and I’m shocked at how I’m already off the pain meds. I’ll update tomorrow: Updated on 25 Feb 2024: 4 days post op: Things are getting better each day. I'm less sore, more mobile, and able to get out of the house. However, my compression garment was VERY uncomfortable around the rib cage, so I replaced it with some super high waisted compression leggings and lipo foam. That was so much more comfortable and got me through the day and evening, but what's not great about that is having to get the pants on and off to go to the bathroom. Last night I was sweating a ton while sleeping and I woke up very sick (I'm sure I was dehydrated) and had to go to the bathroom. Once I took the compression leggings off (this makes a big pressure change in your body), I got even more nauseous and went "in and out." My eyes were fully dilated and I couldn't see for 1-2 minutes. It was scary... As soon as my husband brought me out of the bathroom (slowly) and underneath a fan with cold washcloths around my back and neck, my vision started to come back and I was much more awake. Long story short, if you choose to switch up your compression, just make a hole in the crotch so that you can go to the bathroom without taking them on and off. I did read about this beforehand, but I'm here to tell you that it's important from personal experience! Other than that, everything is healing up nicely. The bruising and swelling is slowly going down, which is great. Lastly, a gentle reminder: this is a lot on our caretakers, ladies. They love us dearly and hate to see us in pain, so the husbands/caretakers that are taking good care of us should be thanked for that often.

The Best in the Game - made me feel comfortable and sure about my decisions

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kirk and her team. From the very beginning being so patient and willing to work with my schedule, my goals, educating me on sizing , the best type of implant for my body and my vision, these ladies are remarkable. They were very helpful when it came to getting me the dates I wanted, as I was a traveling patient , Ana, Kassie and the entire staff at the front did a remarkable job making me feel comfortable and sure about my decisions. I’ve never had any type of surgery before, and even down to the nurses at the surgery center, everything was so smooth and I never doubted my doctors or my well-being in their hands. Needless to say the outcome of the surgery itself was just as amazing. If you are looking for a more personal experience, with zero apprehension , Dr. Kirk and her team are farther than ideal. The experience was better than I could’ve asked for. Thanks so much ladies, you are all incredible.

Total Capsulectomy and Mastoplexy - Couldn't be Happier with Results

I needed to have my implants removed. They were 10 yrs old , too large for me and were heavy under my skin. Dr. Kirk and her staff was wonderful to me. She listened to my concerns and spoke truth to me about expectations (which she totally exceeded!) I received a total capsulectomy and mastoplexy (lift) and I could not be happier with my results. Her office is inviting and the surgical center is clean and efficient. I did not need drains, but many women do. Dr. Kirk told me it is case by case and depends on how much bleeding she sees while closing incisions. I did not need narcotics, just used extra strength tyIenol, lots of fluids and REST. Compression surgical bra with ABD pads must be worn for first several weeks to keep swelling down and to keep the stitches from rubbing against the bra. I still use one almost 24/7 I am hopeful for a clean check up at my 6 week mark to begin workouts.
