Are you a patient of Chase Lay, MD?
Dr Lay is very approachable and will talk you through any qualms you may have about your procedure. He will show you before and after photos of his patients that are similar to you so you have a good idea of what your results may look like. He will give you suggestions based on his experience of what will look natural for your face. I appreciated how he was patient in answering all my questions thoroughly, even though these may be the same exact questions asked by every single patient, multiple times a day. He never made me feel like I had a question that was dumb or silly. His office is friendly and never crowded where you feel like you will only have 5 mins with the dr. The one thing that puts him above and beyond any other doctor I met with is that he has an inherent understanding of Asian culture. You may not think this upon your initial introduction to him since he does have a slight southern accent, but based on his experience, he can predict your questions. He knows that you'll be very concerned with how other Asians will perceive and critique your surgery results, how your family members may react, and that you don't want to look like a sellout and be the Asian person who got the double eyelid surgery. He has had so much experience with Asians that you feel comfortable talking to him about any Asian and "white" stereotypes. He has heard them all! He will also be your reassurance through post-op since you will look very swollen and bruised. He will show you photos of patients that were much more swollen than you and now have beautiful results. You will smile and think, of course you are reassuring me, but silently second guessing the positive results. It's not until 2 months later where all of the swelling is back down, you're getting compliments you never got before, your self confidence starts on the upswing, then 6 months later where you can really see what the final results are… and then that's when you'll want to write a review praising him. I didn't tell anyone outside of my parents and my boyfriend about the surgery and just told others that I was going on vacation. No one was able to pinpoint that I had surgery, but instead asked me if I got a new haircut or lost weight, or changed my skincare routine. That's exactly the results I was looking for. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Lay for this procedure and wish I had done it years earlier with him!
Dr. Lay is easy to talk to and confident in his skills. He's an artist and knows what he's doing. I was willing to travel from Austin TX and I'd do it again! Thank you Dr. Lay!
He did a great job.
I have been always relying on online reviews when deciding on new products as well as choosing doctors, restaurants, clothes, and pretty much everything, but I'd never written a review myself before. Today, however, I did get a strong urge to write one, and here I am telling you about my experience with Dr. Lay. I did my first asian eyelid surgery with another doctor many years ago but the results were not satisfied. I have been thinking of revising my eyelids for a long time. Last summer, I was searching for doctor who can do this surgery. I wasn't successful until I found Dr. Lay in RealSelf. I noticed multiple positive reviews about his eyelid surgery. These reviews were strong enough to make me decide to choose him. Dr. Lay did my eyelid surgery last December. It was a great process. Everything went smoothly, and my recovery was amazing. Everyone in his office were so nice. They made me feel ease, and I was ease before, during and after the surgery. It took about a month for my eyes to look normal, and after 2 months my eyes look beautify. I’m very happy with the results! Beside his great skill, Dr. Lay has a sweet and lively personality. He can sing the whole Chinese song 任贤齐的 “对面的女孩看过来…”, his accent was hilarious, which made the nervous surgical procedure more relax, and full of fun. A week ago, I just did a facial fat transfer with Dr. Lay. I’m still in the healing stage. My face is fuller, and I feel younger every day. Before I did the surgery, I did a lot of research about fat transfer and I wrote a long list of questions for Dr. Lay. However, I decided not to call and ask him. First, I don’t want to bother him, second I just trust him, more questions make me more nervous, so what ‘s the point to have so many questions. As last December, just before I did my eyelid surgery, I called him and asked many questions, and after the surgery, I found out those questions were very silly. Anyway, I'll update my fat transfer results in 3 months. I have been waited way too long to write this review! I highly recommend Dr. Lay to all my friends and people who have the pursuit of beauty and perfection. I hope this review can help you to find a right doctor.
Dr.Lay is a responsible doctor.
My appointments did occasionally run a few minutes late.
Respectful, skillful and always eager to solve patients problems . Not the know it all type like many doctors. Meticulous on his research to help patient reach their goals .
I haven't had many invasive surgical procedures but have had lots of minimally invasive stuff with various PS throughout the Bay Area. Dr Lay is outstanding and is my favorite.
