Leonard W. Gray, MD, FACS

Four months ago, I had a mastopexy/breast lift by Dr Gray, and I could not be happier with my experience and results. I had a few consultations with other doctors that told me I needed an anchor incision, and I feared from their before and after photos that I would have square shaped breast. I chose Dr. Gray because he would do a lollipop shaped incision which would avoid any bottoming out. I also contemplated implants because I wanted cleavage, but Dr. Gray did a tissue transpose which I had not heard other doctors say they could do. I decided against implants. Going into surgery, I was scared that it was going to be 6 hours long, but that ended up not being a big deal. The recovery was rough for a week and then pretty easy after. My breasts now look exactly as I’d hoped. They look slightly more perfect than natural, non-sagging breasts. Dr. Gray was extremely informative so it made deciding what I wanted easy. He, as well as his staff Meghan and Caroline, are extremely nice. I highly recommend.

Came here bc I was shocked at the bad reviews and feel it’s my duty to give a fair review. I did a lot of research over 2 years prior to choosing a surgeon. I read good and bad reviews for a lot. I did my first consult with Dr Gray virtually from out of state. I appreciated it was no charge. Cherisse and Dr Gray were both so kind and answered all my questions (even when I proceeded to email Cherisse multiple times over the next year). I talked to three other surgeons, two considerably more expensive than Dr Gray and who seamed a bit like they are charging excessive amounts because they want to create a perception of exclusivity, not necessarily because they are any better. Anyways, I’m fairly risk averse so never thought I’d actually go through with a BA. But when I followed up 15 months after my first consult only to learn that prices hadn’t increased and they now offer more flexible payment plans, I decided to do it. I went in 4 times total prior to surgery to be sure I had questions answered and discuss size… they never got annoyed. I will say choosing size is probably the most difficult part so I made sure I really understood how sizing works so that I didn’t create unrealistic expectations for myself. I understood that there was a range of size expected but ultimately, my pocket size would affect the final product. I picked a profile and trusted Dr gray with the rest. Day of surgery went as smooth as possible. Meghan, the FNP, was so patient and helpful (she even put my belly button ring back in for me!) and I love how confident she is in what she does. Caroline is also so nice. Everyone has been available for questions following and I am healing incredibly quickly. I had swelling and general soreness following but by 6 days PO I felt great and was able to bake all day and do light house chores (def not saying others should do this). I’m now almost 3 weeks out and am so happy I went with Dr Gray. Morale of the sorry- Dr Gray is great. As a patient I made sure I listened to his recommendations and that I understood the possible risks of ANY surgery as well as the things they/we can’t always control, such as how our body scars or if we heal differently because of other risk factors or responses to trauma. I am thankful so far my body is cooperating and would 100% recommend Dr Gray and his whole team.

I have been on this site for several years doing research and figuring out what I'm going to do. And like many here, I want to pay it forward... so here is my journey. I have been wanting a boob job since high school and I always promised myself after I was done with kids I'll get one. Well 2 beautiful breastfed kids later (at 38 years old) I'm finally ready to embark on this journey. I've decided to do a breast augmentation and labiaplasty all the same time since I'll be asleep I figured they can just do it all at once. Breasts are a deflated 34A maybe AA... I wear ill fitted bras (and with Covid I gave up on bras all together!) My labia isn't terrible but it has always bothered me a bit so I want it cleaned up. Updated on 24 Mar 2022: Similar to many of you here, I decided to write a review to "pay it forward" as I have read hundreds of reviews from other women here. My procedures are planned for 4/1 - in two weeks' time! And truth be told I am freaking out, my appointments with my doctor have been very unsettling. His approach has been to shove an arbitrary size of an implant down a leotard he provides and asks me to pick the projection. Ive been consistently picking between low sientra and mod+ mentor. However the size of the implant meaningfully changes my outlook of size. On our "final" sizing he wrote mod+ 300-400 and basically plans to pick a size while operating based on my breast pocket. This approaching is daunting to me as it provide a huge range that I am not ok with. So now Im in a conundrum .... Updated on 30 Mar 2022: Well I came back to resize and still left with deciding on mod plus but not the size of the implant….I brought my bf along to keep me sane - which helped as we discussed pros and cons. Surgery is in 2 days …. Updated on 2 Apr 2022: Well I did fit!! 20 years in the making and finally went through with it. I got 350cc mod plus. It’s slightly bigger than I wanted, I’m hoping after the swelling goes done they will look a bit smaller. The day after surgery I was completely out of it, got home and 6 and passed out for the rest of the night. Today breasts are definitely sore and it’s hard to get out of bed. Labiaplasty is also alright, no major pain for now. Updated on 3 Apr 2022: Updated on 3 Apr 2022: Labiaplasty has been less painful for now than I imagined. It’s a bit uncomfortable here and there but no real pain (unlike the breasts). It doesn’t look like the doc did a great job but good enough for what I was looking for. Hopefully after the swelling goes down it will be better… Updated on 10 Apr 2022: Well what a week it has been. I have to admit the surgery is definitely more painful than I was assuming. your breasts feel like they are encouraged with milk after not lactating for a day. And you feel like this for weeks. That said The labiaplasty has been easier than I was assuming. Besides a yeast infection from antibiotics it’s been alright. Because I have an IUD, I also had to take twice daily blood thinner injections to prevent blood clots and they were horrible!!! Today is the first day I feel alright! That said the boobs look beautiful and I’m excited to see how they settle!!! Beauty definitely takes pain …. Updated on 28 May 2022: Almost 2 months…the breasts look nice - still a bit uncomfortable here and there - they re not as soft as regular breasts and don’t have the natural bounce. Updated on 16 Jul 2022: Overall I'm very pleased with my results, I had a breast augmentation and a labiaplasty. Breast Augmentation: Overlook 5 stars, my breasts are exactly the size and shape that I wanted. I was worried about getting breast implants that were too large and I ended up going from an AA to a 34C/32D. On my body they look amazing. Everything went smoothly, pre op, surgery, and post op while painful but expected and the office was very responsive. Pre op appointments was where I had a more tough time as I'd like to be in control and when it came to choosing the implant size all the control was with Dr. Gray. My role was to choose the projection and he would fit the size that matched my chest. I was concerned because I wasn't sure if our ideas of success aligned. But they did and he did an amazing job. 5 stars goes to Charisse, because I would have probably cancelled the entire surgery if it wasn't for her getting me an extra appointment so I was comfortable moving forward. Labiaplasty is 4 stars, generally I'm happy with it, there is slight opportunity for improvement but overall I'm content. Overall I got everything done in one surgery and I'm pleased with the results - so overall 5 star score!!

I had breast augmentation with Doctor Gray back in February of 2012. A friend of mine had gone to him a handful of years prior, so I went in with some knowledge about his skillset. I haven't had any other procedures done by him, but he is outstanding with B.A.s. He was very thorough and patient with me during our consultation, and even more so during my follow-up checkup appointment. I had concern about loss of sensation in my right nipple, and he assured me that it was just due to inflammation compressing the nerve, and the feeling would later return to normal. It did, and I couldn't be happier even all these years later. Thanks Doctor Gray! :)

I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Dr. Gray. He's a wonderful man who goes above and beyond to pursue the results you want. Its evident that he takes the quality of his work very seriously. My husband calls my breast enhancement "perfect", and I agree:)) If your considering plastic surgery I would suggest going to any lengths to make sure you can see Dr. Gray, I truly believe he's the best in his field!

If you're searching for a Dr. for breast augmentation STOP RIGHT NOW!! Dr. Gray and his team are absolutely AMAZING. Seamless process from virtual consultation (due to COVID) all the way til surgery day! Everyone in office made me feel comfortable in every way possible, and were informative with expectations & results. I couldn't imagine it any other way. I'm only post op day 1 but I already in love with the results!!

So let me start out by saying, I've wanted my boobs done pretty much forever! Even in high school, I was never in love with the "girls"... through pregnancy, weight gain and now as of more recently, weight loss... You get it... Soooo, I one day make a "shout out" looking for recommendations/referrals on the site NextDoor. There were several responses, but one stood out... one word... Dr. Leonard Gray, she said... I almost immediately googled his website (Bay Area Plastic Surgery) and from the second I clicked on the before and afters, I was sold!! His artform was so different than any other photos I had seen thus far. Being that I knew I would also need not just an augmentation, but a lift as well, I pay close attention to the way the surgeon closes their incisions and the severity of the scars. His hand seemed meticulous to me! Shortly after I emailed for a consultation... not even an hour went by and I got a phone call from his office responding to my inquiry! Cherisse is the amazing human being that took me through the entire process, from start to finish. She is an RN herself and has worked in plastics for a while, but does a lot of the admin and correspondence. She is so sweet, patient and kind. Never ever made me feel rushed to get off the phone, super thorough in answering ALL my questions (trust me I had a lot)! Just such a welcoming/warm personality! Karen is also a doll!! Wonderful work chemistry between their team! I am now 2 weeks post-op and I already feel like I'm getting fabulous results! I am beyond happy I chose Dr. Gray to be my PS! Not only is he a wonderful surgeon, but you can tell he operates his practice on integrity! That's huge for me!! He's not trying to just pull a buck out of you... he truly wants to make people look and feel their ultimate best!! He walked me through the entire process from my consult, to the pre-op, surgery day, and now all the post-op appointments that follow! I'm not usually a person that writes a ton of reviews to be honest, but Dr. Gray and his staff need this recognition! They are amazing, and sometimes finding the best is like picking a needle out of a haystack! So there... I did the research for you hahahaha!! Look no further!!

My BA experience with Dr. Gray was amazing!!! My result was better than what I expected. Here is my story. Many years ago Dr. Gray did BA for my friend and sister. Their results were amazing even after many years their breasts still looking nice and the best part is you can hardly see the scars. So when it’s my turn for a BA, I read some of the reviews here and it gave me an impression that I will wake up with unexpected big implants. I was worry because I only wanted naturally full looking breasts. I decided to go with Dr. Gray anyway because I saw the amazing results on my friend and sister. Dr. Gray listened to my life style, desired result, and considering my breast diameter. After trying on different sizes I liked how the 250cc implants look on me. Dr. Gray also thought a low profile 250cc silicon cohesive gel implants will give me the result I wanted. My ending result was better than I expected. My breasts look so natural. I was a 34b deflated before BA. After BA I’m wearing a 34c and it’s exactly what I wanted. So it’s not true that Dr. Gray goes for only big implants. Thank you Dr. Gray for making me look and feel beautiful. Also, Dr. Gray’s staffs are so sweet, Cherisse and Karen, thank you!!!!

At age 48, I finally had time for me. The last kid was in college and I wanted to reclaim my youth. I needed a mommy makeover, and a friend recommended Dr. Gray. The breast lift and tummy tuck were a huge step, but I still wanted to go a step further. I had seen ads on TV and in magazines for products reported to immediately remove wrinkles. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gray and his entire staff. He is an extremely talented doctor with years of experience and knowledge. He and his team always made me feel welcome and treated me like I was their only patient. I explained my boob goals and he listened and guided me throughout my journey of selecting CCs and profile. Cherisse the nurse is incredible, and completely went above and beyond in scheduling around my hectic school schedule. My boobs have been a subject of great insecurity for me my entire life, and these wonderful people have come together for me and have made me feel so confident in what I see so far. Dr. Gray and his staff are worth EVERY penny and more. I highly recommend his services.
