Tomorrow is the big day! I am so excited to finally be getting my chi chi's done! I was a 32C before kids and a 32D during pregnancy and a 34DD while breastfeeding. I am now a 32B. (VS sizing) I was either pregnant or breastfeeding non stop for about 4 years. Since my husband and I decided we will not be adding to our little family, I decided it was time to do a little something for myself. Let me start off by saying I like my chi chi's the way they are. I think they feel nice, and they have an appealing shape, they don't sag, they are small and perky. Not perfect, but nice. However, I miss the look of my larger boobs I lost when I weaned my babies. Updated on 5 May 2017: I thought I would update my before pics. Updated on 5 May 2017: A peek into the chi chi's. DR. Miles said everything went well. I am still in quite a bit of pain, but very manageable! One is higher than the other but I expected that. Updated on 6 May 2017: Updated on 6 May 2017: Soo I live with my husband, our two children and my father-in-law. I waited till the night before my surgery to tell him about my boob job. His daughter just had one done about a year ago, so he was very supportive. I haven't really been telling people the only ones that know are my mom, my father in law, my husband and the gal that cuts my hair and one of next door neighbors. I don't even know how I should tell my dad. I have a great dad, but my body makes him uncomfortable. For wxample: Hugs from my dad are more of a pat on the back. I never lived with him growing up. So even though I know he loves me. we have never had a deep bond. I went pretty big so I'm sure it's going to be pretty obvious the next time I see him. But I'm nervous about what to say. What do you ladies do when telling your dad and mom? Were they supportive? Updated on 6 May 2017: I was told to ice the boobs to help with swelling and a heat pad on my back to help me relax the pain away. Updated on 7 May 2017: A little less pain today than yesterday. My boobs look like cantaloupes I can't wait till they D&F Updated on 7 May 2017: My boobs are till pretty high and tight. But I was able to remove bandages, take a shower, and reapply the compression bra my doc gave me. Updated on 8 May 2017: Sooo before my surgery my husband asked me if there was anything I might need to stay comfortable. So we ended up purchasing a few extra pillows, a couple of sports bras and pjs, etc...I then said if he doesn't get me flowers I would feel disappointed, and that I wouldn't mind getting we panties from VS. He then brought up a tennis bracelet I have had my eye on for a while. So my surgery was Friday and today is Monday and he didn't end up getting me anything... I hate to sound ungrateful because he paid cash for my surgery and has been here by my side every step of the way. He is taking care of the kids so I can rest. so I decided to order the bracelet myself, because I don't see him getting it for me anytime soon. Then I called my mom and asked her to send me some flowers. I also have friends coming over tonight and one is bringing a tissue box (toilet paper is killing me with my allergies) and my other friend is getting me "smooth move" tea; Since apparently my husband accidentally got the tea bags wet. Now he is upset that I was expecting to get flowers and perhaps a card from him. And he says he loves me very much, he also added that I'm "emotionally blackmailing" him into doing things for me and he doesn't want to do things for an ingrate. I just don't think that's the case. He built up my expectations and now I am disappointed...I'm not even mad at him, but I don't have that many friends. I even find it kinda pathetic that I have to ask my mom and the few friends I do have to get things for me when I have a perfectly nice husband that should be stepping up in this way. Updated on 10 May 2017: Today I ran out of my pain meds so I started Tylenol... In in lots of pain... :/ Updated on 12 May 2017: I am surprised how nicely they are falling I to place. I am doing my massages every day and they seam to be helping! Updated on 13 May 2017: Healing is going great!!! Updated on 13 May 2017: So does anyone know how to gently get rid of the glue that is holding the skin together? When I shower I completely avoid the area, but it looks so unappealing... Updated on 15 May 2017: My right side is very tight and high, it's starting to really bother me. I am trying to be more aggressive in my massages to help the right side drop, fingers crossed! Updated on 16 May 2017: I just thought I would offer some advise for those of you who are considering getting a BA. The pain meds I was on seriously backed me up. So the smooth move tea, naked juice, as well as the senocot s was a God send. Seriously I didn't go poo for 5 days until I started on this regimen, I was in so much pain! I had no idea the pain meds were the culprit. The second piece of advise is to use chafing cream on your nips, it made a huge difference. When not wearing a bra you would be surprised how much your nips run on your shirts. I also use the ministat chaffing cream on my face as a makeup primer. But honestly I haven't been wearing makeup at all the last few weeks so putting the cream on my face makes all my pores look non existent and non shiney, so that is nice. Remember to ice your boobs and heat your back! For my frozen peas I found out that using an old beanie was an awesome cozie for the peas. What else am I forgetting? Oh yes, i know not everyone love wearing a mask to bed but I can not sleep without one. I have several in my arsenal. I have one that has cooling gel beads, one that has rice that can be heated and several other regular cotton, silk, and terry cloth ones. I know in the first week all I wanted to do was sleep and the masks helped block the annoying 2pm sun that I get in my window! Also invest in a back scratcher!!! If you have a random itch on your foot or your back in the first week, you'll thank me! Make sure you have lots and lots and lots of pillows since you have to sleep at a 45 degree angle. I also recommend eating avocado. When I was pregnant I was told to eat an avocado a day and you won't get stretch marks because you are feeding yourself natural oils and Vitamins that will prevent them from within. I did this to the best of my ability and after two pregnancies and a boob job I still have NO stretch marks. I would suggest a good tray to keep on your bed so you can eat and keep things close to you. My night stand felt like it was a mile away in the first week. My bed tray was a life saver! Hope this helps ladies! Updated on 16 May 2017: I was trying to find pics of my boobs before my surgery these were the only two on my phone. I was a 32B Updated on 16 May 2017: They are dropping slowly but surely. Updated on 17 May 2017: Updated on 19 May 2017: We are planning a family cruise in October then shortly after planning another cruise just for me and my husband, no kids! I'm so excited! The last time my husband and and I were in a hotel room, alone, without our kids was 2 years ago and I ended up getting sick and he had to make a run to Target to get me medicine and tampons because I also started my period! Talk about bad luck! But fingers crossed these vacations go much better! Updated on 19 May 2017: I want them to drop already!!!! They look pretty "fluffy" compared to the the first week but I really am not patient when it comes to how high they are still sitting :/ Updated on 22 May 2017: Love my boobs, getting softer with each day Updated on 26 May 2017: Hey are getting softer and more round and "fluffing" but they really don't seam to be dropping :( my nurse said to be patient, but it's really hard... Updated on 27 May 2017: We re having friends over to come swimming tomorow so I thought I would try on some bikinis. I ended up getting the black with the crochet, the green and pink, and the black and lie triangle top. Which ones do you girls like? Updated on 31 May 2017: Very small difference between this week and last week... Updated on 5 Jun 2017: Today my youngest daughter who is 3 years old decided to misbehave. I had to put her in time out and she refused to stay. So I had to keep physically putting her in her time out chair. She weighs about 30lbs. I feel fine, but I'm wondering if you ladies ever lifted over 5lbs at about your 4week mark. What are the dangers of doing so? Updated on 14 Jun 2017: They look so huge naked or in a bra but in a shirt they seam to look much more proportionate to my body. I'm starting to wish I had gone smaller :X Updated on 27 Jun 2017: I'm so happy with my results! Seriously I can't believe the difference just two weeks made! The pic on the left is a week ago and the pic on the right is today. I think my swelling is finally gone! Updated on 9 Jul 2017: Just had a visit with my nurse and she said my boobs were a "home run" I'm so happy the swelling has how down significantly. I went from a 32DDD to a 32DD I am so happy with my new size!
this is the best I have felt in years! I'm 55 years old. I have had 3 C-sections. Even though I have always exercised and watched my diet, I hated the excess 'gut' that I still had. Since my surgery, I feel better, look better and my clothes all fit better too. i finally can look in the mirror and be happy with the way I look. If you are on the fence at all bout doing this, I'm hear to say DO IT!
Dr.Miles was recommended to me from the past chief surgeon of LLUMC because he was an excellent micro vascular surgeon to perform my DIEP breast reconstruct. He is a true artist and his caring nature to the patient and family is outstanding. I have held hands and prayed with him before each of my surgeries in the opporating room. When I paged him with a question after surgery he was there. Dr.Duncan Miles is a gem in the Inland Empire. His staff is caring and supportive. A lot of surgery to get there but I have been in good hands with Dr. Miles. I will have to wait now to see how the skin graft will look. Updated on 13 Mar 2017: Some graft issues but time still needed to heal Updated on 18 Apr 2017: The progression of healing after I started using Whole Skin ointment my nature path recomend. Updated on 18 Apr 2017: Healing Updated on 25 May 2017: Updated on 31 Aug 2017: All is going well just watching the results Updated on 17 May 2018: Updated on 19 Mar 2024: 9 year update update for you ladies who are considering a DIEP. I have been satisfied with my results but unfortunately Dr Miles doesn’t take insurance any longer Glad I got him and his team So sorry that the medical groups are not paying enough for keeping great surgeons
At first, after just having weathered a mastectomy, chemo, rads, etc. I felt like this portion of treatment was frivolous, and I was just grateful.I was alive... plus I was tired of doctors offices. I knew I would regret it if I didnt do reconstruction, so I went to a consultation. Dr Miles' staff never made.me feel like i was in a doctors office - but that i was visiting friends. Looking back, I was unsure of how my story would unfold. 5 years after diagnosis, I feel I have a happy ending. I am very happy I went through with the recon. In a way, I feel like thriving in this beautiful body is a slap in the face to the cancer-tyrant that tried to take so much from.me.
I am 45 years old and had lost a significant amount of weight and have had the joy of having to try and repair my body after massive weight loss. The loose skin on my neck was bothering me. After consultation with Dr. Miles, I decided to have him perform a neck lift on me as he offered the procedure while I was awake and it was significantly much more economical than being put out under general anesthesia. The surgery was a few hours long, but I felt no pain. Dr. Miles and his staff even played my favorite genre of music while it was happening. I have had three plastic surgeries to date (tummy tuck, breast reduction and now neck lift) and by far am most happy with the outcome of this one. As soon as the bandages came off, I saw the results. Immediate gratification! I cannot stop wearing my hair up to show off my new sleek neck. It's like being reborn. Dr. Miles was very realistic with me about the outcome and very professional. He told me to expect 90% improvement, but I easily am 100% satisfied. His staff is exceptional. I feel comfortable there and am always greeted with familiarity and they ALWAYS go out of their way to make me happy. They're awesome. Four Stars!
I am a 45 year old female and underwent double mastectomy to treat Stage I aggressive triple negative breast cancer two years ago. I just recently finished my reconstructive breast surgery and am beyond pleased with my results. My reconstructed breasts look and feel natural. I now feel whole again and as if I have regained some of my feminine qualities lost after mastectomy.
Dr. Miles is the most caring, attentive doctor AND a great plastic surgeon. Also, the entire staff show great empathy and true concern. I was his "problem child" with many complications, but through his encouragement and treatment, I was able to achieve my goals. Also, the doctor and his staff provide a personal touch and they are always available & immediately respond via phone or even text. I highly recommend Dr. Miles to anyone who needs plastic surgery service, because although there are many good doctors, Dr. Miles is great because of his empathy, personal attention, and excellent surgical skills. Dr. Miles & his staff truly care for you as a whole person!
Great surgeon, staff and office environment. In total, had bilateral free Tram flap type of breast reconstruction, liposuction, and fat grafting procedures during two different surgeries. I also had a mole removed from side of my face with a good result. Office staff are very professional, supportive, and knowledgable as well.
Great doctor and staff! They make you feel so comfortable and everyone there is friendly. I felt fully informed about the procedure after leaving my visit. I love my results! Dr. Duncan Miles bed side manner is one of the best, he makes you feel completely comfortable. From beginning to end I was in good hands and got beautiful results.
Went under local not General. Not bad at all- general would be waist of money. Had 400 cc's removed, 9 incisions so small you can hardly see them. Leaked for one day- not too bad. Didn't need more then tylenol as of day 1 and 2( today). Feels like a knarly ab workout- stiff and occasionally stingy. You can sense the prodding and suctioning during the procedure, but can't really feel it- too relaxed from Valium and norco. Occasionally a pinch here an there that I would classify a 3 on pain. Again not bad at all. Napped on and off day one, but also got up an down and did a few things. Updated on 9 May 2015: Up and down doing a few chores, less sore. Super easy to nap! Updated on 9 May 2015: Here are some pics from last July Updated on 10 May 2015: No doubt the padding at day three is still very needed! So while washing my gross leaky stained garment (twice) I'm wearing two pairs of cheapo spanx with the padding inserted into them. Feels similar enough until my garment drys.???? I feel really energized this morning and slept my best yet! I think I'm done with tylenol too!???? day three photos later. Updated on 10 May 2015: Excited for not swollen, super energized today. No tylenol at all!???? Updated on 16 May 2015: Still a bit swollen... But I've never been able to wear shorts this low without a muffin top! I'll take it!???? Updated on 16 May 2015: At the river off to the pool to rock the bikini and garment!???? Updated on 16 May 2015: Happy!!! Updated on 24 May 2015: Still happy! Updated on 30 May 2015: Swelling in flanks finally going down a bit! And bathing g suit bottoms I wouldn't wear before!!!???? Updated on 30 May 2015: Updated on 16 Jun 2015: Still have some flank swelling, especially right side. My skin finally got irritated with the garment and not breathing so had to stop wearing as much except for night....all in all love it! Wish my flanks had no swelling- but I'm also swollen from PMS...and I also think I'm getting used to how I look... So starting to pick myself apart which I need to remind myself to not do!!!????????.. I would do it again...healing..PMS....all in good time... Updated on 22 Jun 2016: Ending a 15 day road n river trip. Definite water retention here, but weigh the same, still happy!! Updated on 21 Jun 2017: I'm still very happy with my lips results!! I did a little sculpsure as well last fall at the same office-icing on the cake!!
Thank you for the helpful photos. I think your assessment is correct. I would recommend a 2 stage approach. Have your lift first, then in a second stage use the BRAVA system before fat grafting. It will give the most consistent results.
Hello. The flexion or animation deformity you are describing is very common with submuscluar implants. It is no one's fault. In some woman it can be very noticeable. A position change to a subglandular placement will fix the problem. If you are very thin, fat grafting to the upper pole of the breast can help camouflage the movement. You will need to discuss the options and fees with your surgeon .
Thanks for the pics, however, I think a more standard shot might be more helpful (without pulling on the skin). An upper lid bleph helps the central skin above the eye but some sort of brow lift (Botox, Ulthera, or surgical) would be needed to correct the lateral hooding. Your jowl formation does not look that severe and it is difficult to assess the severity of your "turkey neck". You may be a candidate for Ulthera and some filler (fat or HA). I like to save a face lift for when you'll get the most bang for your buck. Everytime one lifts those skin flaps they thin. Save the facelift for when you really need it!
Hello Meg2319. I think you can safely say that 4 out 4 doctors agree, no fleur -de-lis! Liposuction done concurrently with abdominoplasty can be done safely, but nothing beats losing that last 15 before your surgery.
Generally speaking, one should wait 6 months after nursing for any breast surgery. Lifting and caring got an infant may be difficult for a couple weeks after surgery.
