The main thing to avoid, if possible, is blood thinners before your botox treatment. &nbsp;Topical washes or treatments should not interfere with your botox treatment. &nbsp;The main issue is bruising from the treatment. &nbsp;This can be minimized by avoiding aspirin or pain relievers that can thin your blood, making bruising worse. &nbsp;Continue to take your aspirin if the doctor has told you to take aspirin for a specific condition.

I plan on getting Botox in the early afternoon. Would it be fine, by nightfall, to take a hot shower (my usual routine)? Also, how do you recommend cleansing the face after Botox? In the sink or shower okay? Also, is warm water okay? Please advise. Thanks.

While pregnancy can induce many changes, if you maintain good weight during pregnancy, you should have a very limited increase in fat cells/ fat volume during the process. &nbsp;Patients only need 400 extra calories/day during pregnancy in general. &nbsp;Being healthy after your coolsculpting treatments is essential for patients - whether they become pregnant or not.

	To answer your question - I would wait until AFTER pregnancy to have your coolsculpting procedure. &nbsp;I think you will be happier with your results long term.

I have had 2 Coolsculpting treatments on my lower abs, with excellent results. I have heard that fat cells divide during pregnancy. When I eventually have children, will my fat cells in the treated area multiply and negatively impact my long term results? Would it make a difference whether I got the Coolsculpting treatment on my lower abs before or after pregnancy--would the number of fat cells in the area be the same regardless? I am referring to fat cell number, not elasticity of the skin.

Based on the information, I would think you are a good Smartlipo candidate. &nbsp;You would still need a physical examination for sure. &nbsp;Have you lost a significant amount of weight? &nbsp;Losing over 50 lbs could leave the skin loose an sagging around the abdomen. &nbsp;This would limit how well your Smartlipo results might look after treatment. &nbsp;

I am a 28 year male that is 6'3" and I weigh about 220lbs. I would say that I am in average shape and my body fat is around 18%. I have love handles and a little bit of a stomach, but other than that I look toned.  I just wanted to know if I should expect to see good results and hopefully get the six pack that I have always wanted. I was able to get down to 10% body fat, but still was missing the 6 pack.

I routinely treat the upper and lower abdomen. &nbsp;However, I usually have to treat them separately. &nbsp;There are several ways to do that. &nbsp;You can treat with 2 x smaller applicators at an angle or treat just the lower abdomen with one of the large applications and then treat the upper abdomen with 1 or 2 smaller applicators. &nbsp;This depends on the size of the patient. &nbsp;Usual prices are $750 for the small applicator and $1500 for the larger applicator. &nbsp;Most offices offer volume discounts if you are purchasing several treatments. &nbsp;It is not unusual for a patient to have flanks, back, and upper/lower abdomen treatments total around $5-6k.

I think my question is self explanatory. My doctor charges $1500 for first cool sculpting treatment and $1200-1400 for a second cool sculpting treatment. So I'm wondering if I can do the upper and lower belly at same time (and hopefully if done at the same time I wont be charged twice as much), and can return for the second round and do the same thing, otherwise I'm looking at close to $6,000 and from what I have seen and heard, it's not worth that much money.

I would recommend stopping anything that is not absolutely essential 2 weeks prior to any procedure. &nbsp;You can restart the next day post procedure. &nbsp;That should limit any bruising risk as much as possible. &nbsp;I'm not aware of Vitamin D causing major bruising problems, but you are right about Vitamin E and Fish Oil. &nbsp;I also have a few patients who eat garlic just before procedures and note bruising. &nbsp;

	Consider pre-treatment arnica montana and post treatment bromelain to help limit bruising. &nbsp;These are available at vitamin stores.

Hi Docs, should I stop taking Vitamin D 1000 mg before I have injectables into my face (Perlane, Restylane). I know not to take Vitamin E and Fish oil, how long before ?, 1 or 2 weeks ?. And when can I resume taking them ?

I think you would likely get the most benefit from first treating the area with botox and allowing the muscles to relax for a few weeks. &nbsp;Then you could have a Fraxel or other similar fractionated laser skin resurfacing treatment done to help reduce the wrinkles. &nbsp;But at your age, it is more important to not smoke and wear your sunscreen than really anything else.

Im 27 and have noticed I have fine frown lines, they're mostly visible in the sunlight. I don't want botox as I want a more permanent fix. Will laser remove them?

I will routinely suction 200cc - 300cc total volume from each inner thigh when performing SmartLipo on patients. &nbsp;I agree that you really need to communicate your expectations clearly with your provider and make sure you understand the risks/benefits/limitations of the procedure.

Hi, I had my pre op today and my ps said she was only going to remove 200 cc's from both inner thighs and she said my inner thighs would STILL be touching???? The purpose of me having this procedure done is to not still have my inner thighs touch &amp; for me to have gap. So my question is will there be a significant difference at all??

I would recommend fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm to the tear trough areas to correct physical depressions in the area. &nbsp;Make sure to go to an experienced injector. &nbsp;If they inject too superficially, it can cause bumpiness.

	&nbsp;

	After the physical depression is corrected, you can correct the pigmentation issue with cover-up makeup or diffuser makeup. &nbsp;If you are looking for a more permanent solution, you could consider laser skin resurfacing of the area. &nbsp;This may cause a transient darkening of the skin after treatment but can result in a permanently improved color to the area with time.

I would like to know if I need combination of restylane and laser to get rid of dark circles and sunken eyes problem.How much restylane should I inject in each eye? Any help is appreciated.:) Thankyou!

I do not recommend blue light therapy for acne scars. &nbsp;I don't think it does anything. &nbsp;The standard therapy for your skin type is a series of light glycolic peels and home hydroquinone topical therapy. &nbsp;It takes time, but you should see improvement over a 6 month period.

Mixed male with brown skin. I have two acne blemishes. I have done two glycolic peels at 70% at 4.5 minutes. I wont go any longer than that. Im wondering if it would be more effective should do blue light therapy in conjunction with the peels. My derm has also suggested applying hydroquinone at home in between peels, but I am not comfortable with hydroquinone.. should i add blue light therapy, or stick with the peels?

You are in terrific shape. &nbsp;Small areas of fat, such as in your case, can be treated with Smarlipo for around a 50% reduction (but a minimally invasive procedure) or treated with CoolSculpting. &nbsp;CoolSculpting is non-surgical but can improve that area by about 25% in women. &nbsp;Since there is no downtime with CoolSculpting, you can go right back to working out the next day instead of having to take 7-10 days off post Smartlipo.

I have always had that small belly pouch and it won't go away. I'm 20 right now and have been pretty active my whole life. I have done competitive cheer, 30-40 hours a week of conditioning/gymnastics etc, since I was till I was 17. Now, I try to go to the gym as much as I can. I did a bootcamp for a month. I also run a lot. I usually try to run 4 miles 2-3 days a week... if i can 5, but it's hard with school and work. what do i do? please tell me how to get ride of this!
