Being a doctor with a cosmetic focus means I have countless opportunities to impact people on the most personal of levels - their self-esteem. I'm fortunate to have an eye for what needs balance and I'm pretty much of a perfectionist, so those traits match my patients' goals "perfectly".

I absolutely love this treatment. I believe the results you receive depend on who delivers the treatment. I cannot rave enough about Dr Jillian at Dr Rebecca Fitzgerald’s office in L.A. He performs all laser, lifting and prp treatments. My downtime was less than most because Dr. Jillian performs VBeam on the bruises starting on the 3rd day. In fact, he came into the office Sat. ( he even gave me his cell number!) to deliver a VBeam for the 3rd straight time (5th day I f recovery). On day 12, and my husband can’t stop admiring my skin. The compliments started on day 9! It’s supposed to take 3-6 months to see results but seeing early improvements in my skin texture & Melasma! Plus lifting. I recently turned 60, and my skin didn’t have wrinkles but my cheeks were starting to look flat to me and jawline and neck were showing slight changes. I’ve done Ulthera and Thermage through the years which probably helped, plus sun avoidance , sunscreen for ions and a healthy lifestyle. My recent Ulthera treatment was 4 months ago. Dr Jillian delivered better results than prior drs/nurses. I’m so overjoyed! Dr Jillian is the best!
I have had Sculptra injected a few times over the past 10+ years, and it works very well for me. Dr. Fitzgerald was an early adopter of the procedure so she has tons of experience and she trains other physicians in its use. I consider her to be an artist, and she taught me early on that it is better to create volume overall than to just fill in lines and wrinkles. It has been 3 years since my last treatment. The literature says it last up to 2 years, and I find that for me it can be even longer. I probably should have gone in 6 months ago or so, but am happy to be refilled now. There is a bit of swelling and some aftercare for a few days (massaging), but it is worth it. I went out to dinner with clients last night, and they didn't notice a thing. And it looks even better with time as the collagen growth is stimulated.
I loved Dr. Fitzgerald. I went to see her as a referral from my regular Dermatologist. She injected Juvaderm to fill in my chin area (I'm 56 and have lost volume in so many places :( ) After about a month of letting the material settle down, I LOVE the result. I wouldn't have thought small changes there would have made such an appealing difference. She sees things others don't and is very frank which I found refreshing, not insulting. I feel professionals should tell you things your husband and girlfriends are too afraid to LOL. Loved the staff which were professional, comforting and actually fun. It means a lot that the staff enjoy their work and work well as a team. I think Dr. Fitzgerald is highly skilled and a no BS kind of person. I'll be back for a few more treatments in temples and maybe mid-cheek area.
Due to a lupus flare, I suddenly broke out with inflammatory, cystic acne. It was absolutely horrible. I support myself by working as a fashion model, so I was really stressing. They got me in the next morning, Dr. Gray gave me 2 rX topicals, and one week later, my skin is clear. I HIGHLY recommend this office.
After my daughter was born I was left with this pooch that hangs over...very ugly. Because I had a c-section and the pain from that was absolutely awful I decided to try CoolSculpting over Liposonix because it has gotten very good reviews. I did not want to have any type of surgery. I had two large applicators on my lower abdomen, left and right side and a small applicator on my upper abdomen. However I am now 9 days post procedure and have a lot of pain. The pain was so unbearable, my husband thought he might have to rush me to a hospital. On the 4th day he found me hunched over and very pale and sweaty. I called the doctor's office and they prescribed Vicodin and Valium. Despite the strength of those drugs I was still up at night with the pain. I was then given Neurontin (gabapentin) this helped a lot more but did not fully take the pain away. As I write this I am experiencing a very painful, hot prickly feeling on my lower abdomen. I have been on vacation and tomorrow I return to work. I am very nervous about what my day will be like tomorrow since I've been laying around with ice on my belly for the last few days. By the way ice is the best thing you can do for the pain, it has worked better than any drug they've given me. I really hope this procedure was worth the money and the pain. I almost feel like I should have just gotten smartlipo. Updated on 15 Nov 2013: Yes it does work! I will post pictures soon. Updated on 16 Nov 2013: After 3 1/2 months
My face looks rested and has a glow to it. I look much younger. I did it to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes and lift my eyebrows.
I am a 49 year old man who is holding up pretty well. Very active, work out, eat right, bla, bla, bla. But my face was starting to slide and sag a bit. Ulthera appeared to be just the all in one solution I could handle. I tried fillers and botox. Having to return every few months for more painful shots was not working for me. (Let me mention that I bruised terribly from restylane) I was a bit nervous about what people here wrote about pain but was impressed with the before/after pictures. The concept of gradual lifting and tightening rather than one big plump or pull appeals to me. I had the procedure done 4 days ago. The pain was so minimal I can't even call it pain. My tattoos were way more painful. The nurse gave me 20 mg of Valium and 10mg of Vicodin and a Motrin before the Ulthera. Getting snapped with a rubber band is way worse than anything I felt. The next morning I went to the gym and worked out as normal. Face washing and shaving were no trouble. I felt and still feel a bit sore on my forehead and under my chin. I'm not expecting to see changes for at least a month. I can already see that the loose skin on my jowls and along my jawline is tighter. There is a return of definition that has been gone for several years. A friend at work commented that I look very rested and awake. I'm detecting that my eyes are lifting a bit. So far the experience is positive and I'm seeing change. I will share before and after pics in the future
Cons - none really, except some swelling that takes a good 5 or so days to go down. No one noticed until I pointed it out, but I was aware of it and wouldn't do it less than a week before I had to do anything special. Pros - it's so subtle no one notices except you. It also last much longer than the other fillers, and I prefer the idea of a filler that stimulates my skin to rejuvenate itself over time instead of plumping it up with something artificial. I've had Sculptra twice now. First time was in April 2010. I woke up one morning and thought I'd slept funny, I had a deep pock mark on one side of my face around the naso labial fold area. After a few days of it not disappearing with a shock I realized my naivety. A pillow crease? No - it was the beginning of a deep line on one side of my face and the beginnings of the dreaded 'parentheses' marks around my nose / mouth. It was age! (I was 38 at the time). What bothered me most was that it didn't really look like a line, it was like a deep pock mark, and one side only. (I've since realized that side of my mouth and cheek move much more than my left). I did a lot of research online and found that a doctor who trained other doctors in Sculptra use in Aids patients was conveniently extremely close to my home. I went to see her and two years later I don't regret it for a second. I just had a second lot done this December. So it was almost two years before I felt the need to address it again. I did have the most enormous bruise on my face the first time. I mean I looked like a battered wife and had to hide at home for several days. It's possible a vein was hit, or I've also since found out green tea makes you more prone to bruising and I drink at least 3 cups of green tea a day. This December I made a point of no green tea for a week beforehand and I just had swelling, no bruising. For all the people who have had bad experiences, my heart goes out to you. But blame the user not the tool. In other words the problem is not Sculptra - it's who injected it into you. You have to find a doctor who is experienced with Scupltra specifically and ask to see their own before and after photos. It's not good enough to see the promotional ones, you want to see what they have done personally in their clinic. I was able to see many photos of patients my doctor had worked on and after reading up on her on and doing a lot of research I felt safe in her hands, but honestly I wouldn't let anyone else touch my face. So if you haven't done it yet, please, please find a good, experienced doctor. Scupltra is absolutely worth it and a remarkable product, you just have to be in the right hands. Below are photos of the line before I had Sculptra. I just had IPL today so when my face has calmed down (!) I'll take a photo of what it looks like now.
Uneven face, more pronounced sagging in the right side of the face. Volume loss overall, tired, aged look Updated on 13 Jul 2013: Hi everyone!! It's been more then a year since my second Sculptra treatment and my face still looks great! Its volume has been restored and I feel tighter around the chin neck area where the sagging had started to show. When time comes I am sure I will repeat the treatment which I pefer over a face lift. Good luck to anyone considering Sculptra it has worked for me and I recommend Dr Fitzgerald highly for this procedure. Updated on 11 Feb 2015: Its couple+ Years afyer Sculptrs and I can still see the volume in my face. Thinking of renewing soon.
I wanted to get back my youthful face after my husband died and the grief and stress added years to my face. My main goal was to look like myself, only fresher and younger. Sculptra is unbelievable for turning back the clock. I can't even begin to describe how great the results were! Anyone considering this should make sure they get a doctor who has done lots of sculptra injections. I went to the top two sculptra injectors, one in FL and one in CA, and it really is the placement of the sculptra that makes all the difference. Choose your doctor wisely and you will be amazed!
Additional gentle exfoliation should not be a problem even with silk peels on a schedule. Enzyme exfoliators are a bit kinder than products that contain non dissolvable particles. You are wise to pick gentle options. DefenAge has a gentle and very effective enzyme mask that's cost effective as there's lots in the tube and only a small amount is needed. Sugar based, it melts after contact with water.
Your surgeon is the best source for guiding you in additional treatments of filler or other. Everyone heals at different rates and some patients hold on to residual swelling longer than others depending on health, medications, diet, lifestyle, etc. I would encourage you to speak to your surgeon about your desire for fillers treatments that include skin " micro wounding" as with micro needling.
Kybella is uniquely developed to chemically destroy fat under the chin. CoolSculpting uses fat "freezing" to reduce the amount of fat as well, without the need for injections. Both have proven results. Kybella tends to be well appreciated by patients who are suitable candidates.
There are multiple issues at play here. Adding fillers under the eye "only" may not get you the kind of changes you would hope for. Certainly a filler such as Restylane can take away the hollowness presented here. As to amount, it's always best to have an in person consultation (nearly every dermatologist or plastic surgeon applies consult fees to treatment, so it's rarely a cost unless you decide to do nothing). Eyelid hooding can be improved with skin tightening and often Botox can lift the brows as well as improve asymmetry of brow heights. At the same time, lax skin and displaced fat beneath the eyes are both remedied with blepharoplasty with a more permanent result. We all experience changes in facial contours, hollows and skin laxity over time. Typically the "fix" goes beyond a single area, and especially after we've passed middle age.
Test a small area first before treating your entire arm. The best advice is to follow the directions of the device. But the first advice is to test a small area. If you tend to tan easily, you could also experience post treatment pigmentation. Don't be too eager to treat large areas without knowing how your skin will react.
