I've done my research and while both PRK and Lasik are safe enough choices, there is this new technique called Nu-Lasik which was created by an ophthalmologist called Dr Kim Frumar. He's been called a "pioneer of his field" and has been doing the technique for over 30 years. It...

“Had PRK Not LASIK - Nashua, NH”
Worth It
Spent: $2,990 in Nashua, NH
PRK is $2990 and all laser LASIK is $3990. I can see 20/15 in both eyes. PRK takes at least a week to start seeing good so unless you want to be blind for a week, do one eye at a time with a month in between.

“PRK Laser Eye Surgery: Not Perfect, but a Miracle Compared to Before!”
Worth It
Spent: $4,200 in Westchester, New York
I had custom wavefront PRK, which is different from LASIK because instead of opening the eye like a can opener and using the laser, the cornea is scraped away to expose the eye for the laser, and then grows back over several weeks. I chose this because it was recommended by my doctor, who I...

PRK: was it worth it?
PRK Information
PRK, or Photorefractive Keratotomy, is a type of laser eye surgery used for vision correction that preceded LASIK.
PRK is performed by ophthalmologists using an excimer laser to precisely sculpt the cornea so that light can be better focused on the retina (refractive error correction).
Once refractive error is corrected with PRK, vision improves and dependence on glasses or contact lenses is reduced for both nearsighted and farsighted patients. PRK can also correct astigmatism.
