Dr. Michael Contreras: Mohs Surgery we do in our office, Dr Joel Cowen is my partner in the practice and he does the Mohs surgeries. Mohs is indicated for skin cancers that occur in areas that are cosmetically sensitive such as areas near the eyes, near the nose, or tumors that are larger in size or may have just really hard to tell margins. So if I can't look at it and say: 'That margin looks like it's pretty clear' and especially if it's near an important structure then Mohs surgery is appropriate for that.

The way Mohs work, it basically helps to conserve as much normal tissue as possible and still eliminate the cancer with about ninety-nine percent success rates.
