You may have people tell you you look tired when, in fact, you've had a good night's sleep. So, what can be done to help correct that?

Well, eyelid surgery is a great way to kind of freshen up the mid-facial area. So, oftentimes we think about doing upper lid blepharoplasty, which helps correct the hooded skin of the upper eyelids, lower lid blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery to tighten the skin and the muscle of the lower eyelids, and even a cheek lift, which is a way to lift mid-face right through the incision that we do the lower eyelid surgery. That really is nice because it helps give a really natural contour from the lower eyelid to the cheek area, and it can help very nicely correct the puffiness of the lower eyelids as well as that groove of the lower eyelids that gives you some of that tired, dark circle look.

Now here's a patient of mine that came in. She's a nice lady. She's younger, but she sort of had early aging changes around the eyes. So for her we did exactly what I talked about: upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, a cheek lift, and you can see she has a nice, more youthful look, a rested look, and that's our goal.
