OK so i've beenplanning this for 6 months: Breast reduction & TT with lipo of back, flanks, and bra-fat area. This was my present to myself for my 40th b'day and its definitely the best things I've ever done for myself! I'm 4 days post-op and i would say my pain has never been above a 2 on the pain scale. The lipo feels like a bad sunburn, the breast reduction feels like NOTHING. I kid you not. I didn't believe it when I read that it wasn't painful - but it isnt! The TT feels tight, but not painful. The only thing generating any discomfort is the epic sunburn feeling of the swelling from the lipo. Its amazing! If you're thinking about doing this for yourself - DO IT!!!! I went from a very full G cup to a C cup and the relief was immediate! Dr Yates is a perfectionist and i couldn't recommend him enough. If you've got questions - message me! I'm happy to help answer your curiosities and questions. I will post better pictures when I can, I haven't put them all together yet.
My mommy makeover with breast reduction went great. Love dr yates work. I was happy to get the results I wanted. He gave me the best of care and was very careful to inform me on the results I would get. No surprises. He has a great bedside manner. Very concerned and listens to what you want and gives you his best opinion whether he thinks he can give that to you. Which I loved.
Dr.Yates was very informative and helped me pick out the perfect size for my frame, knowing I wanted to go bigger but still look natural. Post surgery he has called me every day to check on me and to answer any questions I have.
I had 371 silicone breast implants placed in 2011. I had asked for a full C cup, but initially had a D even after the swelling went down. Over the past few years I gained a little weight and probably some breast tissue and ended up with DD cups. I have a relatively small frame. I am 5'4" and 135 lbs. My boobs overpowered me and made me look even heavier than I am. I hated myself in clothes and tried to hide my chest in photos. I made the decision to have the implants explanted. I was so scared about the results. I had the surgery yesterday and did not require a lift. Once everything settles, I may need one, but my doctor's initial impression is that I should be ok without it. So, today is post-op day 1. I am already thrilled with the results! I'm so happy to have my real breast back. They are definitely tiny and a little droopy, but they are ALL MINE. I have zero regrets! So happy!
My experience with Dr. Yates was pleasant, informative and reassuring during my breast reconstruction. From the date of mastectomy to implantation.....it was ALL GOOD !!!!His staff is knowledgeable and efficient.....and he treated me like a princess......with dignity!!!!!
37 Years old. I have battled with my weight all my life. I had gastric sleeve surgery 2.5 years ago, and lost about 70 pounds. I feel amazing, have tons of energy, and love to run. Now it is finally time to get rid of the remnants of my former self! I cannot wait to look in the mirror and actually look like the person I feel like. I have spent countless hours pouring through the reviews and Q&A here, and learned so much! I hope to pay that forward to others seeking Information. I plan to post plenty of updates and pictures, as the posts with many updates have been priceless to me. My surgery is scheduled for 10/25/2017. It is coming so fast, yet feels like it will never get here! My PS is Dr. Yates in Huntsville, AL. I have read many wonderful reviews about him, and even met a couple of his patients. He has a reputation for being an artist and a perfectionist. I felt extremely comfortable with him at my consultation, he answered all of my questions. The rest of the office staff is super professional and friendly. I left my consultation feeling very confident and informed.
I love Dr. Yates. I am so thankful for him in my life. Here is my entire story. After significant weight loss, I went to see 5 plastic surgeons, including Dr. Yates, to get quotes on plastic surgery to remove excess skin and lift/augment my fallen chest. I had heard great things from friends about Dr. Yates, but I wanted to do my due diligence and ended up interviewing other surgeons in Huntsville and Nashville. At the end, I went back to see Dr. Yates again to get additional questions answered that had come up in my other interviews. I found interacting with Dr. Yates to be great. He answered all my questions, gave me honest feedback about the surgeries I needed, etc. I felt like he would be appropriately aggressive and I had the best chance of getting the results I wanted without lots of revision surgery with him. I ended up booking my surgery with him for August 2016. I was going to have a 360-body lift with a vertical incision (to remove an existing scar), breast lift and augmentation, and brachioplasty (arm lift). He required a pre-op mammogram before my boob job. Of course, I put it off until the last minute because I wasn't worried in the least about the results. After the initial mammogram, I had to return for a second, then a biopsy. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer two days before my scheduled plastic surgery. Dr. Yates called me himself to tell me the diagnosis and give me some guidance on reconstruction post mastectomy. He was the first member of my cancer team. He did my breast reconstruction by placing tissue expanders after my DM, inflating them slowly, then replacing with silicone implants. I saw him many times over the year I was receiving treatment and always found him to be kind and easy to work with. I had some healing issues after my DM. I had a blood blister form that left additional scar tissue under one breast and the implant never completely dropped. I have a revision scheduled with him in November 2017. After my breast reconstruction was complete, I asked if he would do my other two surgeries and he agreed. Those were completed in July 2017 and I am thrilled with the results. My arm scars are perfectly placed and cannot be seen from front or back with my arms to my sides. I had no healing issues. The pain management was excellent for all my surgeries. I was off narcotic pain medication 4 days after my full body lift and brachioplasty. After my drains were removed (2 weeks), I felt like I could resume work. I had my DM and breast reconstruction done at Huntsville Hospital and the other two procedures done at the surgery center in his office. I have no complaints about either experience. Let me tell you things that might turn you off, but you should overlook. He didn't have the nicest office of the plastics surgeons I visited. Other PS offices sometimes felt more like a spa than a medical office, with low lighting, cushy robes, and beverages offered to you as soon as you enter. His visiting rooms are small and can be cold. He has paper robes. You sometimes have to wait a significant amount of time to see him. And believe me, sitting naked in a paper robe in a cold room for an hour can be a big turn off. But, in the end, it is worth it. (Ask his staff to turn up the heat or give you a 5-minute warning before he comes to change later.) Also, I find his staff to be a mix, some nurses and staff were amazing and others that were less so. At other PS offices, the nurses and staff are really working to win your business and treat you very kindly. I found that his staff could sometimes be brusque and not compassionate. This was particularly difficult to accept with when I was dealing with a cancer diagnosis. There was one time I was standing in a crowded waiting room crying because I couldn't get his staff to take my insurance card and trying to explain to them that I was changing from an elective surgery patient to a non-elective surgery patient. In terms of cost, out of the 5 plastic surgeons I interviewed, he was the second most expensive, but comparable to other surgeons. I would not let 1-2k dollars difference be the determining factor of who I had to do my plastic surgery. Dr. Yates is exactly the kind of surgeon you want in your life. He is a perfectionist, an artist, a person who enjoys his job. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Mike Yates was my fist choice of plastic surgeons after I was initially diagnosed with breast cancer. I knew from that very moment on, from choosing a general surgeon to do the bilateral mastectomy and then insert tissue exanders, I knew exactly who I wanted for both procedures. It's been a wonderful, pleasant and happy experience with both surgeons. Dr. Yates and his staff are truly "top knotch"....they will answer any questions you have and allay any misgivings you may have about ANY procedure. I feel that I have been treated like "royalty" at DYS practice with DR. Yates and his staff. I am looking forward to the final procedure regarding my reconstruction.....and then some! I am just getting started. Updated on 6 Aug 2017: phase of reconstruction with his aesthetician (my nipple tatooing). And he doesn't know it yet, but I planto have my lids, eyes evaluated very very soon! Dr. Yates has hung the moon for me !!!! I never thought I would have been diagnosed with breast cancer in a million years. I have discovered things about myself that I never knew thanks to reconstruction by DR. Yates !!!!
Dr. Yates is a man of EXCELLENCE. His attention to detail and perfectionism is worth much more than twice the amount that he charges for his procedures. Not only are his professional skills second to none!, his integrity and compassion are off the charts. To have a physician who treats you as an individual and remembers the "little things" about you makes the whole experience like connecting with a friend. Words cannot adequately express my admiration and gratitude for this TREMENDOUS professional! Did I say that his professional skills are second to NONE! Yes, he's THAT good!!
I was suffering from constant pain in my neck, back, and some in my shoulders. I had trouble breathing because of the weight on my chest. Having the Breast Reduction was one one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have no regrets except that I did not have it done sooner. My quality of life is 100% better because I had the surgery. Thanks to my WONDERFUL surgeon, Dr. Michael Yates
Almost always if the muscles have been stretched, so has the skin, and your best result will be a standard abdominoplasty which removes the excess skin, tightens the muscles, and usually includes liposuction for the hips, waist, and back areas, and the upper abdomen. This should give you your best overall contour.
Given your height, weight, size, and goal, I think that you would be happy with an implant size in the 350 to 400 cc range. We have our patients try on implant sizers during their consultation, and this allows the patient to help select the implant size. Many surgeons use sizers introperatively, and this can be helpful, but, obviously, at that point, the patient has no input. I find that the more the patient participates in choosing their implant size, the happier they are with the final result. The final determination is made during surgery, but it is rare for this to differ from preoperative planning.
Your photo is not exactly face on, but it appears to me that your implants are indeed somewhat asymmetrical with the left implant being lower than the right. This causes your left nipple to be positioned higher on the breast mound. I think that your left crease is correspondingly lower than the right, and that probably these differences will not change with time. Correction would require either lowering the right implant, raising the left implant, or both. Usually this works, though there is some risk of the implants again being different. Incidentally, all plastic surgeons who perform breast augmentation will have occasional problems like this that require a touch up. Good luck!
A breast lift (mastopexy) should provide you with improvement even if you have stretch marks. Some of your stretch marks will be removed, but some will likely remain. If your areolae have enlarged, these can be made smaller with a breast lift. With any lift, there will be some settling of the breasts as the tissues relax and the swelling goes down. So, some of the sagging comes back, though there will always be an improvement compared to where you started. It is difficult to achieve fullness in the upper breast areas with a lift alone. If upper pole fullness is one of your goals, then you might wish to consider a breast implant, along with mastopexy. If you plan to start your family any time soon, then it would be best to wait until after your family is complete before having breast lift, with or without implants, as pregnancy will tend to undo the results of your surgery.
If you have only a minor degree of tubular breast deformity and your nipple to crease distance is 5cm (0.5 cm would be unusual), then it is possible that simple breast augmentation may provide you with a satisfactory result. However, your surgeon may discuss with you the possible need for internal release of tissues if it appears that there is persistence of grooving in the lower part of the breasts after the implants are placed. Also, if you have protrusion (herniation) of the nipple areolar areas as part of your tubular breast appearance, then you may also need incisions around the areolar margins to help recess these areas. A silicone implant is a good choice to minimize palpability if the tissues need to be thinned significantly to try to release the constricted creases at the bottoms of the breasts.
