I am very seriously considering a tummy tuck, but am very nervous about the healing process after a major surgery. I have a history of MRSA skin infections - mostly boils that have subsided after topical and/or oral antibiotics, but I have had a few recurrent infections over the last 4-5 years. Besides the usual practices of maintaining good hygiene and keeping the area clean, is there anything else I can do to ensure that I do not develop an infection?
There has been no drainage since jps were removed n then when i took off garment after work i saw little yellow drainage spots on my shirt.. i sent my ps a pic he called in silvadene n wants to see me tomm. But im freakin out . Ive been so good with wound care and comp garmet. Do u think workin hosp is giving me infection .. like mrsa
So my tummy tuck was completed May 1st. This is a current photo. Necrotic tissue has been there since week 2 and the wound opened about 3 weeks ago. I made a trip the ER when it did because it smelled and was oozing (which it had been for weeks before). They admitted me and pumped me full of IV antibiotics only to find out I have MRSA and the CT scan showed a collection of fluid on the left side. Every time I saw/see my PS he says I am fine and healing as expected. This cant be normal!
My wound is getting worst by the day. Ive been self treating it myself as sterile as possible and using neosporin. My dr is not seeing by the week and tells me its fine. I dont want to wait till it gets any worse then this to get treatment.
My nieghbor came over today and told me the horror story of her ongoing 4 month MRSA infection after a hysterectomy and now i am terrified. Ive been worried about going under general but this has me ready to cancel the whole thing. How common is it to have a bad infection? I know im in the lower risk group but im still afraid something like this will happen to me.
Many of you have been following my questions lately and have seen my pictures of the green infection coming from the holes in my TT insicion. As you may know, I had a culture of it done and the prelimenary report said I had Staph and MRSA. I was put on oral bactrum, 1 pill 3 times a day. Today the final culture report came back and I also have "bacteroid" infection? I have developed a horrid odor in the fluid oozing out of my incision as well. Should I be hospitalized and on IV antibiotics?
HX-MRSA abscess post op abdominoplasty. Several rounds bactrim ds. PMHX-healthy, nonsmoker, nondiabetic 18 weeks post op 2 stitch granulomas-can they heal w/out surgical intervention (one has not opened, the other has opened daily X 4 days w/small amt pus drainage)? Could a longer duration of abx be successful (6 weeks)? AND if they HAD to be removed what is the chance of ending up with another MRSA abscess?
