I am 14 months post full tummy tuck, muscle repair and liposuction of flanks. I am struggling with my final results. I still feel as though I have quite a bit of loose skin when I sit or flex my abdominal muscles. A deep vertical fold/crease forms between navel and vertical scar. Since procedure I also have a hard, swollen area on the right side of lower abdomen. I also feel as though the contour on my sides is not smooth after the lipo. This has been very disheartening.
Why do I have a distinct vertical skin line. I work out daily and the skin is not as tight as I thought it would be. My surgeon has stated that I lost weight after the surgery. I did. 10 pounds. Would it create such a deep line?
I have watched some tummy tuck videos and see that when surgeons do an abdominal repair, the muscles are sewn together to contour the abdomen. It looks like the patients muscles are brought closer together below and beneath the belly button. The tissue is folded inside of itself. My question is does the tissue stay inside of itself? Does this create less space for internal organs? What exactly happens to this folded tissue?
I am 3 months post op from a full tummy tuck with lipo and muscle repair. I'm pretty small (26 inch waist) healthy weight etc. But I've noticed that the skin above my belly button isn't sitting tight and I can see fluid ripple underneath it. When I move or tap the skin, it ripples. And when it sit down, I get folds because the skin is sitting on fluid. My surgeon won't see me for over a month and I'm distressed about my results and worried. I have been in my compression garment for 3 months
I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair 20th November 2015 and breast reduction / lift done at the same time after 100lb weight loss through dieting. I have a vertical crease / fold and loose skin at the top of my abdomen & it is really getting me down. My surgeon said that the only way to correct this would be a FDL with vertical scar (which I am not keen on having). I am due to see him again in September.
I keep on getting frequent infections under the fold of the skin. I also have problems with copious amount of sweating that occurs as a result of heat build up. I want the extra skin off but can't afford it. I may not be able to afford the deductible. What are your thoughts?
Not sure how to ask this. My tummy tuck is only 2days PO (I know things will change over time) I wanted to get other Dr's opinion's as to what causes my tummy to look so pulled in at the navel area. I always had a deep navel (see the before picture) I am just wondering what causes this and will this to pass and flatten out as I go through the healing stages. Also, is it common to feel really dizzy/warm and almost faint first time walking after the surgery, it happened to me 3 times. Thank you
Hi. I have a reddish line on my belly from where the skin has folded over for so long. I am hoping the incision from my TT will be on or below it, but if not can I expect the line to fade? My obgyn once mistaked it for a c-section scar if that describes it better. Thanks!
I'm 6 weeks post-op and I'm very concerned about the vertical folds of skin along my belly button after my full Tummy Tuck surgery. Doctor says it will relax over time he said I had a huge hernia and very bad muscle damage leading to this appearance when skin was pulled back together. I had no fat in my stomach. I was not expecting a result like this at all. Can anyone help me and tell me what I need to do next? Due to what happened, I'm searching for another doctor to repair this damage.
