So I dont know how I got this weird nose hump since no one in my family has it and I havent ever broken my nose. Its only one one side of my nose and you can very clearly see it when I turn my head by 45 degrees. I love my nose but its just that hump that I hate. Another thing I would add is it that the hump isnt hard- it goes down when u press on it then comes back up in a few minutes. I guess its cartilage. Can I get a microrhinoplasty just to make the hump a bit more straight?
Is a tip rhinoplasty w/ minor shaving and straightening possible using local anesthesia and oral sedation? Ive had an Otoplasty under local only and did well, and I really want to do my rhino this way, but finding a Dr to do this has been difficult. Can any improvements be made to my tip with this approach? Even if it is minor? Thank you
The only thing I don't like about my nose is the dorsal hump. Don't care that my nose droops slightly, I like that. From my understanding, it's possible to shave down the dorsal hump as an isolated procedure, but this may cause the bridge of the nose to look wider? I have a pretty narrow bridge that gives a pinched appearance. I guess I'm wondering, does anyone preform, or heard of, these mini procedures where they just shave down the dorsal hump? Thank you!!
I've had a number of consults for a rhinoplasty. In general I like my nose and my tip but want to fix a slight hump that's really only visible on 3/4 view. Is it possible to fix this with rasping only given I'm otherwise happy with my front view of my bridge and tip?
I broke my nose when I was about 13 years old Im 33 now Lately I have been having a lot of sensitivity to the bump on my nose.. and really bad allergies (Im not sure if this is due to the hump) The bump is very pointy Will my insurance cover to shave it down?
I got a rhinoplasty september of 2020 and was very happy with my results. Over time, a bump on the right side of my bridge appeared. I went back to the doctor April of this year and he did a needle shave to reduce the bump. The area did get swollen and there still is a bump there. Im wondering how long swelling lasts for a needle shave like this. Im not sure if this bump is the true bump or just swelling. I want to contact my surgeon and see if he can perform another needle shave if needed.
I have been to a consultation previously for rhinoplasty as I don't like the hump on the bridge of my nose. I was told that I have a low root and would need a graft to correct it. The surgeon also told me that he would shave the bone slightly but I am concerned about this as I think I have a small nose and don't want it to be too small. Is it always necessary to shave the bone even if the root is low? Would it not be okay to just do the graft?
If someone accidentally shaved the external skin of their nose down, how long would it take to grow back and heal? For example, would a deep scrape of the nose skin be permanent if there was no blood involved but the thickness of ones nose skin looks and feels thinner?
