Hi, Im due to have a rhinoplasty procedure very shortly. Im aware that taking ibuprofen orally is a bad idea due to it thinning the blood and prolonging recovery. However, I use ibuprofen gel for sore muscles. I just wondered if anyone knew whether applying ibuprofen gel topically will have any impact on my recovery after rhinoplasty?
I've heard that some people take ibuprofen because it is an anti-inflammatory to help reduce nasal swelling post-op. They don't take it immediately after because of the fact that it may cause bleeding. They take it about 3-4 weeks after surgery. I got my nose done a month and 1 week ago. My tip is still big. I was wondering if I should take some ibuprofen to see if it helps? I won't take it all the time..maybe just when I have a big event coming up and want to look my best. Thanks!
I'm hoping to get rhinoplasty soon but I suffer from very bad migraines. Unfortunately, I often have to take ibuprofen and am also taking supplements with magnesium. I'm also trying to come off my anxiety medication. I especially worried that all of this could interfere with anesthesia and cause complications or death since those are my main concerns.
It has been ten days since my rhinoplasty surgery. I have noticed slight blurry vision in my left eye sometimes it gets teary. Reading isnt as clear as I see in my right eye. I have asked an assistant they had said it might have been from swelling and I should continue to take ibuprofen. I doubt this solves the initial eye issue. Is this normal and do I need to wait longer. Thank you,
I will be going alone I will be away from home hence nobody to care for me. What is the best form of painkiller over the counter in the UK that is used to fight pain and make it more bearable? Apart from mediocre things like Ibuprofen. Also, what are the essentials needed for aftercare of rhinoplasty. ie ice face packs, drinking water (dry mouth)Lastly how long after rhinoplasty can you smoke ( I know this is terrible to ) Thank you in advance to all the doctors that reply !!!!
I had rhinoplasty exactly 3 weeks ago & I have been very careful to not have any pain killers, besides the one prescribed by my surgeonthe few days post-op.I suffer from VERY painful menstrul cramping so during the week of my period I usually have 1000mg or more Ibuprofen tablets every day(perscribed by my gyno).I am quite thin & normal pills can impact me more. Will the high dosage of this impact my nose healing?I don't want to hurt my results, but I'm in pain:(
I was hit in the face at my nose two days ago. There was immediate bleeding mostly from the right side and a quarter size blood clot was pulled out from the right side. There was also immediate swelling. My nose doesn't look to be broken and is only sore in the middle. I get an occasional new brief migraine right above my nose self treated with Ibuprofen 400mg BID. I have no difficulty breathing. Should I see a physician?
