I'm 40 years female and Im considering rhinoplasty. I have croocked nose, mostly towards the tip. Tip is slightly protruding on one side, creating uneven profiles. I also think I have collapsing nasal valve on the left? Will surgery be more complicated/expensive in my case? Will graft be needed as well? Can this deformity worsen as I age and create breathing problems? Thank you .
I had 1st time rhinoplasty April of 2024. 15 months later, I am still having to tape my nose overnight to control the swelling. I have tried asking my surgeon but I dont seem to be getting any clarity. For context, Im an ER physician with a short attention span, and even I have felt he and his PA have been a bit dismissive. I am not sure what else to do at this point. i have thick skin and i have found that when I dont tape it overnight my nose swells a decent amount. in the morning, (if ive slept well) my nose looks fantastic right after removing the tape. 8-12 hours later, its noticeably larger and FEELS swollen. The swelling doesnt go away if I dont tape it. I am concerned Ive been taping it too long or too tightly, and potentially caused a problem. I have been on acutane for more than a year which has helped somewhat. I have also had 1 round of steroid injections at around 7-8 months post op. im not sure where to turn or what to do short of yelling at my surgeon in some dramatic fashion to get him to pay attention. not to mention i moved to Atlanta for my new job and the surgery was performed in NYC. Should I just stop taping all together? Should I get a new consult and see if revision rhinoplasty is needed? Would a series of CO2 laser treatments help get the skin to remain adhered? I could really use some thoughtful advice. I've included 3 examples of how swollen it gets vs shortly after tape removal.
I really like one side of my nose and am displeased with the other side. I still need to have the doctor evaluate me but Im pretty sure I have a deviated septum that causes this appearance difference. I was wondering if Septoplasty by itself would make both sides the same, or would rhinoplasty be required.
Hello, I have a quick question - Is it possible to have my crooked nose and deviated septum repaired (and covered by insurance)? I broke my nose in 2022 and, unfortunately, was unable to go in to have it reset. I experience a bunch of sinus issues year 'round (constant runny nose, headaches, and sinus infections) and went to an ENT and allergist. They both believe its non allergic rhinitis and suggested sinus surgery. Well, my ENT is only comfortable with an outpatient sinus surgery and wouldnt feel comfortable straightening my nose or correcting my deviated septum since itd be such an invasive process. Is it possible to have a surgery to fix both issues (and have it covered under insurance)? My sinus issues increased tenfold since I broke my nose and I just want to fix the problems internally and externally. What type of doctor would I want to see for a consult?
Could I get some advice on what can be done with my nose please? I have a weird split in the middle of the bone and the tip is also bulky and droopy. I would like to have as little surgical intervention as possible, can the bone be fixed with nose fillers so I can only have surgery for the tip? Thank you!
I am interested in getting a rhinoplasty to shave down my bump and de-project my nose a bit and raise the tip. However, I currently do not have any breathing issues. I am wondering if this is possible to do without having to have my turbinates touched/reduced in size. I am really concerned about ENS.
