WORTH IT
Dr. Bentkover was fantastic to work with. He spent a great deal of time explaining the pros and cons and what to expect during the procedure. He took photos and brought them up on computer screens so we could review. We discussed various sizing options and what would suit my facial features best. He really understands each and every patients wants and needs and his goal is 100% satisfaction. The office is very professional and Dr. B is a very warm and welcoming person. I came back 2 weeks after my consultation for the injection. The medical assistant stood with me the entire time and gave me an ice pack for my neck, as I became a bit nervous 1/2 way through. Dr. B stopped the injections and gave me a few minutes to lay back and the medical assistant continued to ensure I was doing OK and was comfortable. Once my nerves settled down, we continued the injections until Dr. B was satisfied we had reached our projected outcome. I took a look in the mirror and was extremely happy with my results. I was given detailed instructions on how to take care of my lips over the next few days, and what to expect in the coming weeks. Dr B ensures he is always readily available to his patients via phone/email, in the event of any questions, concerns, or reactions from the injection. He is humble, passionate, and knowledgeable, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a true artist. Injections are not something to be done just anywhere; you want to ensure you choose a licensed professional with extensive experience and an eye for beauty. There are numerous things that could go wrong during this type of procedure, so choosing the right Doctor is vital to your outcome.

Experience with Restylane Silk

The injections were a bit painful, as there is no numbing done prior to the injections. You will feel the needle going in and out. We injected in quite a few different spots on my lips as this product works best when placed more superficially. The product itself does contain numbing ingredients, however, I would not say it was helpful for the discomfort. The lips will feel numb afterwards. I wouldn't say this is reason enough to not get it done, the discomfort is bareable. I began to swell a bit as the evening went on and certainly wasnt used to the feeling of bigger lips. The following day I was extremely swollen, however it was better in the afternoon and I was able to run errands and not be embarassed. The day afterwards the swelling went down significantly and was looking very nice. I rarely used ice. I noticed a reduction in the overall size as time went on and about 4 weeks after. I noticed swelling every morning I woke up, however I thought it gave me a really nice plump. It took me about a week to adjust to the feeling of the lips and they were painful to the touch for about 2 weeks. I did not experience any bruising except for tiny spots at the injection sites, nothing really noticeable. I had a small bubble form and had the Dr take a look and we decided to leave it alone. It did end up going down almost completely. I can feel some small bumps in my lips when I rub them together, however this is rather normal... it seems more noticeable at certain times of the day and lessens as time goes on. I will say they look beautiful and are perfectly aligned. I had the procedure done on a Thurs and went back to work Mon, and noone noticed I had "work done". I am now wondering if I should go bigger!...although it isn't the most budget friendly. I think you should wait atleast 6 weeks before making a decision on getting more filler, bc your lips will change a bit during this time. I would get injections again.

What a great and thorough review, thank you! Can you post some pics too? It's helpful for others in the community who are considering the same procedure to see real results from people who have "been" there, you know?
It's interesting that the bumps lessen throughout the day - what do you think is the cause?
Regarding the pain during the injection, could you have had a dental block?
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion about your doctor.
I would love to add your experience to the Restylane Silk community, but it would be helpful if you could provide some more detail about your experience with your procedure/treatment. I suggest adding before and after photos - optional of course, so that other community members can use your review as a guide throughout their journey.
