I consulted 2 surgeons about replacing an extremely painful 25 year-old encapsulated implant then spent a week gathering opinions from friends and co-workers deciding which surgeon would be best for me. In the end, I decided to go with the doctor I felt most comfortable with. I am very glad I did.
Here are a few of the reasons I am overjoyed that Dr. Durkin preformed my surgery.
Number one: He treated my like a friend. He immediately made me feel comfortable simply by walking through the door and smiling. He made me laugh. And he hugged me.
Number two: He listened. It is very easy to tell that he is listening because when he does, he is enormously animated. His expression and body language speaks volumes. You know those expressions that shut you down the minute you begin to explain yourself, his is exactly the opposite. You could, quite literally, tell this guy anything.
Number three: The in-office surgery experience: He came in before my surgery hung out, talked, made me laugh, made me comfortable then left me in the capable hands of his staff. Again, I cannot stress how comfortable I felt in his office. Firstly because Dr. Durkin made me comfortable, secondly because I was on a first name basis with everyone in the surgery suite from previous office visits, and thirdly the area which housed the suite is extremely comforting in itself.
Number four: My spectacular new breasts. So, here’s the thing. My only care when I went in to see Dr. Durkin was getting rid of that painful implant. I put no thought into my new breasts. My old implants were spaced so I could lay the palm of my hand flat between my breasts without touching them. During my consult with the other surgeon, I asked if there was a way to make the space between them smaller so that I could have more cleavage. He said, no, that would be impossible since the nipple must remain in the center of the breast. That made sense to me, and I didn’t think another thing about it. When Dr. Durkin and I sat down to discuss my new implants, my only concern was that the new implants not be larger than the old implants. He asked if there was anything else. I said, well, is possible to make them fuller across the top and give me some cleavage? He said “sure”. Then he said, in his extremely animated way, “You are going to be so happy with your new breasts.”
I now have my new breasts and, he was absolutely right. I am so happy with them. They are perfectly sized, fuller across the top with a very impressive cleavage. They make me feel beautiful all over.
